A week has passed by since the crew left Dressrosa. The crew has been doing their own training since then. Sera and Paul have been training quite a bit. With Paul's guidance, Sera was now able to utilize chakra control quite a bit. Although she was not yet adept enough to use the rasengan, she was able to learn how to use it on her feet and hands which Paul had shown her it's own use by allowing her to walk on the water despite eating a devil fruit. Since Paul isn't really affected by water or anything like that, he doesn't notice any weakness from touching the sea. When Sera first tried it out, she was amazed and questioned Paul why she could do this. Paul didn't really know the answer to the question so just explained to her that when the energy surrounds parts of your body it acts like a barrier of energy so when you touch the water, it is the energy that is touching the water which does not have any side effect of going weak against water. Paul tried really hard to explain to Sera, but that was the best he can do. After all, chakra control is not part of this world.
Robin: " We are reaching an island soon."
Paul walked out of his room and looked in the distance and saw an island. From what he could see alone, it looked like it was an island that has a humid climate as there seemed to be a lot of trees and seems like a rain forest type climate.
Paul: " Finally, I wonder what this island has in store for us."
The ship grew closer and closer to the island and finally docked by the side. Seeing that there was no port established at their current location, there was either no human civilization or human civilization would be farther in the island.
Paul: " Alright let's see what the island has in store for us."
Paul and the other's docked the ship. He chose to take the three strongest dugongs for them to gain more combat experience. The other seven working together should be able to deal most sudden attacks and be able to protect the ship.
Paul looked at the three and had already came up with an idea on how to tell them apart. He took three different color bands, red, blue, and orange. He tied it to their foreheads and gave them each their own name. He looked at the one with the blue headband. Since he was the strongest, Paul named him Leo. The red one was the second strongest and named him Raph. The one with the orange headband was named Mikey. When the three got their headbands and their name, their eyes glittered as they looked at Paul with admiration.
" Osu!"
The three marched in front of Paul and the others with their chest held high and ready for an adventure and to fight anything that gets in their way. The group marched deeper and deeper into the dense forest as the sun in the sky begins to be covered by the tall trees and their giant leaves that acts as a shade. About 30 minutes in, Paul and the others quickly sensed something coming their way. In fact it was the presence of many creatures coming towards their location.
Paul: " 'whistle' looks like we got company."
Paul and the others looked up and saw dozens of monkeys on top of the trees.
Paul: " Looking at their arrival and how they have not attacked us right away, it seems like they are pretty smart... and strong haha. Now I wonder what they will do."
As Paul said this, all of the monkeys began cheering and jumping up and down. Suddenly three monkeys jumped down from the trees and landed in front of the Kung-Fu Dugongs and bowed down like it was challenging them.
Being intelligent animals themselves, they also understood this indication and saluted right back.
Paul: " hahaha, interesting. Lea, Raph, Mikey, go ahead and fight them."
" Osu"
The three began to battle with their opponents. The monkeys that the three faced were fairly strong as normally animals should've been easy for the three to fight with. The monkey's speed were fast as they were strong. It also seemed as though they were used to fighting as they were able to match the trained dugongs well.
The monkeys however were slightly faster as then the dugongs as they land animals and their home territory. The monkeys used the terrain really well as they used the more flexible branches to bounce off and gain even more speed. Such tactics gave the dugongs a harder time as they were more used to more straight forward attacks.
However, the dugongs were not trained by ordinary people and were used to being beaten by a stronger and faster opponent. The dugongs patiently waited and read the pathways that the monkeys would fly in. Once they figured it out, they landed on a solid hit on the monkeys and knocked them out successfully.
"Osu"
The three bowed down as a sign of salutations.
Paul looked up at the rest of the monkeys and smiled, " Next."
This was the perfect training for the dugongs as the monkeys seems to fight fair. Monkey cheers began to sound off as another set of three monkeys jumped down and landed before the three.
"Osu"
The three bowed down. What surprised the group this time was that these monkeys had a little more muscle on them. They also wore clothing and bowed in response to the dugongs. Paul smiled. seems like this will be a little more harder for the kung-fu dugongs.
What Paul saw the next moment astonished him. Martial arts. The monkey's were using martial arts. The monkeys put their hands up in boxing form and started shuffling their feet back and forth. Suddenly the three ran up to the dugongs and landed a fast punch straight at their face. Out of the three, Leo was the only one that managed to dodge the attack. The other two had gotten hit and was pushed back a few steps. Leo immediately made a move and started countering his opponent. The other two also started fighting back hurriedly.
The battle this time was more intense. Rather than moving around and using the terrain, to their advantage, this was a pure head on fight. From the first move, it can be easily said that Raph and Mikey will lose the battle. As for Leo, he would have a 50/50 chance of winning. Since monkeys are naturally bigger and have longer limbs, the fight was naturally to their advantage. A few minutes later, Raph and Mikey was taken down and sent flying to Paul's feet. Leo was still in an intense brawl against his opponent.
Sera quickly covered them in her holy light and healed them of their injuries. Now, they were just waiting for the last battle between Leo and the other monkey. Their battle wasn't going anywhere as Leo was learning how to fight his opponent even though the other side had the reach advantage. Suddenly, two large sticks flew out and landed beside the two.
???: " Use the weapon and settle the battle."
Since the whole group of monkeys arrived, Paul had already felt a strong presence among the monkeys. Paul sensed that the person didn't have any ill intents so he didn't make a move against the said person and just went along with it. However, the rest of his crew besides Daz and Sera didn't notice the person and became slightly alarmed. Daz and Sera has been with Paul for awhile now and has trained their observation haki for a while. Although it may not be as strong as Paul's they felt like there has been a pair of eyes on them the whole time so they may be relaxed on the outside, but they were prepared for all of the monkeys to jump on them from the start.
The monkey battling Leo picked up the weapon but dropped it once again as it saw that Leo couldn't pick up the weapon. After all, they don't have fingers or something to grasp things with. They do have something like a hand but all it really is a form of a fist.
Seeing the monkey throw down the weapon that it picked up, Leo bowed again and then started the fight once more. This fight continued on when the sun began to set the two finally collapsed and it ended in a draw.
After the two dropped to the floor, a person from high up into the tree leaped down and landed in front of Paul.
The person did a martial art bow, smiled and said, " Welcome to monkey island."
