Hawkeye & Yelena

A/N: Just a reminder, new chapter here officially means new chapter over on the P atreon now, where my patrons are currently voting on the future direction of this story!

If Natasha wasn't telling him flat out to stay away, Peter wasn't about to abandon her when she might need him. That said, Friday had been oddly specific about how she asked what he would be doing. As Peter or as Spider-Man? Tilting his head to the side, Peter lets out a grunt.

"I think that would depend on what the mission entails, Fri. Where are Ms. Belova and Hawkeye right now?"

"At this moment in time, Yelena Belova and the vigilante known as Hawkeye are engaged in a skirmish with the remnants of the Tracksuit Mafia. They are currently…"

As Friday rattles off an address, Natasha's eyes get progressively wider, and for the first time, Peter gets to see another part of the vivacious red head. That of the protective older sister.

"Why didn't you say so in the first place, Friday?! There's a quinjet on the roof, right?"

"Yes Ms. Romanoff, however-!"

"I don't care! Get it ready to go, I need-!"

"Natasha! We don't need to take the quinjet. I can get you there myself."

Blinking, the super spy looks over at Peter, just as his Iron Spider armor is reassembling to cover every inch of his body. He gives her a cheeky wave and then taps the web launchers on his wrists pointedly. She understands immediately of course, she knows what he's capable of. Hell, she probably wrote at least one report or dossier on him for one of the big name agencies she worked with over the years. Still, there is a heartbeat of hesitance before Natasha's resolve firms up, her need to get to her sister overriding any concern she might have had.

"… Alright."

They still make for the roof, but rather than using the quinjet that Toni has parked up there, Natasha presses herself into Peter's side and lets him wrap an arm securely around her waist. Peter ignores how good it feels to have her body pressed against his even through the Iron Spider Armor. He's focused on his suit's HUD as Friday uploads the coordinates and a natural path through the city to Yelena and Hawkeye's location shows up in front of him.

Natasha has just managed to get her earpiece in and opened her mouth to likely ask what they're waiting for, when Peter takes a running leap off of the top of Stark Tower, armful of gorgeous super spy and all. She doesn't shriek or squeal, to her credit, though Peter does feel her clamp down on him a little harder as he shoots out the first strand of web and they're soon on their way.

While they're whipping through the air, Natasha is all business, speaking loudly to Friday.

"Who and what are the remnants of the Tracksuit Mafia, Friday?"

"Of course, Ms. Romanoff. The Tracksuit Mafia…"

As Friday begins explaining the events of Christmas, Peter is left wondering how the fuck he missed everything. It sounded like it was happening on his back porch. Was he distracted, or something? Maybe focused on the wrong things, like having sex with some of the beautiful women in his life?

To be fair, from Friday's explanation, it sounded like all was well that ended well. No one on the side of good had gotten hurt, and in the end, Yelena Belova had decided not to kill Clint Barton for Natasha's death. Which was good and judging by the way Natasha gripped him even tighter, wasn't something she'd even been worried about. The whole mess with Ronin and the Ronin Suit was another can of worms, but at least that too was apparently handled with a sense of finality.

No, in the end, the red head was much more worried about the apparent relationship between Yelena and Barton that had cropped up after that.

"When did Yelena and Clint hook up then? Straight after all that happened? I thought you said he made it home for Christmas?"

"Yes Ms. Romanoff, Mr. Barton did indeed make it home to the farm and his family for Christmas."

By this point, Peter is sure he can detect a note of mischievous amusement in Friday's digital voice. Only because he knows her so well is he sure that she's fucking with them in SOME way. Natasha doesn't have enough experience with the AI on a personal level to realize it, or so he assumes. Still, even as the red head's brow furrows and she opens her mouth to speak again, they're arriving at their destination.

The sound of gunfire startles Natasha out of her single-minded pursuit of answers, as they arrive to see two women doing battle with a bunch of gangsters in… well, tracksuits of all things. There are guns and melee weapons abound, but from the look of things, the women are actually doing rather well for themselves. One of them, dressed in all black and wielding a pistol and her fists with equal lethality, had to be Yelena Belova, Natasha's beloved sister.

The other though, was a mystery to Peter, an even younger woman in purple and black with raven locks done up in a ponytail. And the kicker? She was wielding a bow of all things. A bow and arrows, which admittedly were incredibly accurate in her hands.

"Drop me!"

Natasha's order comes with such conviction and determination that Peter is following her command before he even really registers the words, He drops her and the super spy plummets, only to land on the shoulders of one of the guys in Tracksuits. She doesn't hesitate to disable him, even as Peter finishes swinging in and takes out another.

The battle was already in the favor of Natasha's sister and the mysterious archer, to be fair. They were engaging with not-so-overwhelming numbers and ultimately coming out on top in a big way even before Peter and Natasha arrived. But with reinforcements? With two becoming four?

Yeah, they tackled the rest of the tracksuits with ease, and soon every enemy was unconscious, webbed, and disarmed.

It was a mark of their professionalism, Peter supposed, that it's not until the fighting is done that Natasha and Yelena end up face to face. The latter had to have noticed the former earlier than this, but she'd not let it get in the way of her kicking some serious ass. Now though? Well, the fighting was over with…

"T-Tasha?"

The beautiful blonde looks like she's seen a ghost. Natasha, meanwhile, is as nervous as Peter has ever seen her, smiling uncharacteristically tepidly as she very subtly shifts from foot to foot.

"Hey 'lena. Sorry I didn't call earlier, but I was a little indisposed."

There's a moment… and then Yelena Belova all but lunges forward. Peter is expecting a hug… so the punch to Natasha's face comes out of left field for him. Not so much for Natasha however, but even though he realizes belatedly she saw it coming, the red head takes it anyways. She lets Yelena punch her, and as the blonde grabs her by the collar and gets ready to do it again, she's completely passive while her sister screams in her face.

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD! THEY TOLD ME YOU WERE DEAD!"

Realizing that Natasha isn't going to defend herself for whatever reason, Peter jumps in before Yelena can throw the second punch.

"Whoa! Hey, um, to be fair, she WAS dead! Until like, a day ago! It's really not her fault!"

Whether it's his presence as Spider-Man, or the sheer absurdity of his words, Yelena is brought up short. The blonde looks to him, her accent thick as ever as she narrows her eyes.

"What are you talking about?"

Her gaze shoots back to Natasha, and she growls.

"I came back. I came back from the blip, and you were gone. Dead. Killed to bring me back. So… how can you be here now?"

There's a heartbeat where Natasha meets Peter's eyes, and in that moment she makes a decision that honestly fills him with gratitude. She chooses to keep his secret, even for her sister.

"I was brought back, Yelena. It took a little longer, because I had to sacrifice myself to bring you and everyone else back first. But c'mon… you didn't think they'd leave me dead, did you?"

Yelena rocks back on her heels at that, taking Natasha's words into consideration, breathing heavily through flaring nostrils. She works her jaw for a moment before shaking her head.

"Barton certainly thought they were leaving you dead. What, was he not in the loop or something?"

The name drop sends a jolt through Natasha, who bites her lower lip for a moment before sighing and shaking her head.

"No. The less who knew what was in the works, the better as I'm given to understand. I'm back now, Yelena. That's all that matters. Though… speaking of Barton, where is he? I'm given to understand the two of you have developed a… relationship since Christmas."

A note of reproach and judgment enters Natasha's voice at that, and she looks incredibly disappointed at her sister, even as she's sweeping the area for Clint even now. Which is… odd. Peter supposes it's tunnel vision of a sort, because otherwise he never would have expected to understand the situation before Natasha did. For him, it's become quite obvious what's going on since all this started. But Natasha is too close to things to realize just how Friday was fucking with her.

Looking taken aback and baffled, Yelena's nose scrunches up, but before she can speak, the archer in purple from before clears her throat and steps forward.

"Uh? Relationship? Between Yelena and Clint? I sure hope not!"

She's very chipper, Peter notes. Especially compared to the laser-focused, intense women that she's currently stepping into the middle of. Natasha frowns, even as Yelena nods.

"You must be Kate Bishop. Friday mentioned you. What are you and Yelena doing together?"

The two women exchange a look at that, and Peter has to resist the urge to palm his face.

"Well… yes, I'm Kate Bishop. Also known as Hawkeye now. And I guess what we're doing together is fighting crime, taking names… a-and hooking up?"

Kate blushes at that last bit, but Yelena just smiles wolfishly and wraps an arm around Kate's waist, pulling the archer in close as she squeaks, easily yanked to Yelena's side. Despite Kate being taller than the blonde, there's not a doubt in Peter's mind who the big and little spoons in THAT relationship are.

Natasha, meanwhile, stands still for a moment before cursing.

"Damnit Friday… couldn't wait a day before messing with the newly resurrected, could you?"

Through Peter's speakers, the AI's voice sounds out for all to hear.

"I did tell you, Ms. Romanoff, that Yelena Belova and the vigilante known as Hawkeye were in a relationship with one another."

Yelena and Kate share a look at that, before looking back at Peter and speaking at the same time.

"Wait, is Spider-Man actually a girl?"

"Whoa, was that an AI?"

They share another look, realizing they had very different takeaways from that. Chuckling, Peter shakes his head.

"No, I'm a guy thank you very much. And yes, that was an AI. Friday played a little trick on Natasha and used her concern for her sister to send her into quite the… state."

For a long moment, Natasha just pouts. It's not every day that the red haired femme fatale finds herself taken for a ride after all. But then the moment passes, and she grabs for Yelena, taking her by the hand.

"We need to talk. Catch up, even."

Yelena's eyes are wide but she quickly nods.

"Yes. I uh, have a place nearby. We have a place nearby. Let us go there, yes?"

And with that, it's settled.

-x-X-x-

"Hey."

Peter turns his head, still dressed as Spider-Man, and gives Kate Bishop an eye-smile as she steps up to his side with a cup of coffee outstretched. He takes it with a nod and retracts the bottom half of his mask to take a long, appreciative sip.

"Oh, that's nice."

Kate perks up, pleased at that.

"I didn't know how you took your coffee, so I just gave you my mix. Glad you liked it~"

… Ya know, a few weeks ago he would have been shocked and also a little aghast at the sultry, lustful tone the archer was suddenly taking from him. Especially seeing as her girlfriend was a few dozen yards away across the large open room, talking with Natasha in hushed tones even now. The two sisters had been reconnecting for over an hour at this point, and it was obvious to Peter they'd probably be talking for the rest of the night.

Obvious to Kate as well, as she reaches out and runs a hand down his chest.

"Look… I just wanted to say… you're our hero. Mine and Yelena's both. She might not be as upfront about it, but we know what you've done."

For a brief moment, Peter thinks she's talking about resurrecting Natasha. But then he realizes, no… she's talking about everything else, including him snapping his fingers.

"Tonight might not be the best night for it. I think Yelena and her sister are going to be talking into the morning. But, uh… we've chatted before about this. You're both of our Celebrity Sex Pass."

Wait, what?"

Kate grins even as she blushes at Peter's sudden intense gaze.

"Yeah, it's like that. What did you expect? You're Spider-Man, of course we'd be down for some action. Anywaaaays… like I said, you're our Celebrity Sex Pass… but while I COULD take you into the other room right now and let you bang my brains out while Yelena catches up with her sister, I would PREFER to have some fun with all three of us some time."

Before Peter can formulate a response to that, Kate has pulled out a slip of paper, obviously with her number on it. She looks to slip it somewhere into his suit… but of course, the Iron Spider suit doesn't exactly have pockets. In the end, she's forced to settle with lamely holding it out to him between two fingers. He takes it, of course.

"Call us some time, handsome. We'll have some fun together, alright?"

Peter slowly nods, before flashing a smile with the exposed lower half of his face.

"I'll do that."

He's got no doubt in his mind he will eventually do that, so he doesn't bother with a wishy-washy, noncommittal answer. That's just not who he is anymore.

At the same time… seeing Yelena and Natasha reunite like this, it's got him itching for something. It's got him feeling a certain sort of way. Maybe it's not one for one… but he's already decided who he's going to see next.

It's about time that he and Gwen Stacey had a heartfelt talk about their respective places in this universe, and what that meant for their future together.

His resolve firming up, Peter looks from Kate to the sisters across the room and then back again.

"Hey, can you tell them I needed to be somewhere for me?"

"Sure!"

"Thanks."

And with that, he slips out. Not that he believes Natasha misses his departure for even a moment. Then again, her sister clearly distracted her in a way few other things did, so who could say for sure?
