Chapter 182: The Warrior's Blade

“They said you killed someone, Giselle.” Trace paced back and forth along the marina. As soon as he left Rhychard’s apartment, he called Giselle and asked her to meet him. He refused to believe what the elf said back at the apartment. Giselle was not the type to kill anyone. She was too meek, almost timid-like. She was too much like him, if he was honest. At least, he believed she was. “That elf said you’ve been killing for years. He even said you killed your last boyfriend, just so you could escape.” He turned and stared at her, his arms limp at his side as the pain of everything the others had told him shoved inward on his chest.

Giselle just looked at him, her dark eyes soft, almost childlike. When she spoke, her voice was soft, just above a whisper. “I told you I wasn’t like others, Trace. I warned you that you wouldn’t like what I was. You’d hate me for it, even. You promised you could handle it and begged me to tell you, remember? You promised, Trace.”
