Laci looked around her, wondering where her sister and Alex disappeared to while she had been in the Summerlands. Jayden’s bedroom was quiet, empty. Surely, her sister wouldn’t have left her there, not without knowing what happened to her. Even then, she would try to find a way to rescue Laci, wouldn’t she? Perhaps that was it. Perhaps, Jayden and Alex left to find Tansy and the others to rescue Laci from the Summerlands and the demon’s clutches.


Or had she pissed them off because she had traveled to the Summerlands on her own, leaving them behind so she could face Baltabek on her own? Laci sighed. How would they even know where I went? No, something else must be happening, but what?
