My front door opened unexpectedly, and in walked the mouth of the South with my favorite little boy. "Do they intentionally make this place impossible to get to?" Hayden's voice reverberated off the walls in the foyer.
I ran, sliding on the hardwood floors, right into the arms of the two most important people in my life. It had only been a few days since I'd seen them, but it felt like a lifetime. Tripp steadily talked, as did Hayden, and while I couldn't decipher either, I soaked in their presence, so grateful to have them with me for the next ten days.
"Where's the beach, Callie?" Tripp was more anxious to see the water than me, so I pointed at the backdoor and watched him bound outside.
"Don't go far!" Hayden called after him. "I see you didn't wait for me to unpack." She turned in a circle.
