Chapter 82

The doctor hadn't let me hold him or take pictures with him before they'd rushed him away. Liam had gone with him, and Hayden stayed with me. I was eerily calm, considering the circumstances, but somehow, I knew my son was safe with his daddy by his side. There were too many people still in this room while the doctor finished stitching me.

"He's beautiful, Callie." Hayden's eyes were filled with the same joy I'd seen the day she'd met Tripp.

I had only seen him briefly before he was swept away, and I was jealous that my friend seemed to remember more about him than I did.

"I caught a couple pictures. They're not great though. Wanna see them?"

"Fuck yes, I want to see them. God, I knew I kept you around for a reason." I'd had no idea she was even taking pictures.
