Rainbase

Vivi briefly explain in order to go to Rainbase, they need to head north of Yuba and they should arrive in one day.

An hour later, the heat is starting to slow everyone down.

'... Can't you just provide them water? Even back at Yuba, you didn't help that old man at all.' Tomo suddenly spoke telepathically in Rin's head (she's still in system form).

'We could but... Nami said to only use your ability (the system's shop) when we're desperate...' Rin explain.

'Still.. a bottle of water should be fine, don't you think?'

"..."

'He'll be fine either way so it doesn't matter.'

'I might be wrong but are you trying to hide my abilities from people outside the crew?' Tomo asked.

Rin paused for a sec before replying '... Why did you ask?'

'To get an answer so mind giving me one?' Tomo responded.

Rin sighed, 'I just prefer not to be seen as a threat to the government just because I have a strange ability that can't be explain using this world's logic. Simply put, I'm scared.' She admits.

'Oh... Well, alright then.' Tomo decided to stop asking seeing how Rin is insistent in not using the system right now.

Night came, they rested, woke up and continue their journey.

After a while, they arrive at Rainbase.

However, Luffy and Usopp somehow encounter Smoker and the Marines while purchasing barrels of water. To lose the Marines, they all split up after agreeing to meet up at a casino own by Crocodile called Rain's Dinner.

Rin went to the nearest alleys to get away. As soon as she exit the alleys, she went straight to the nearest crowd of people. She use her devil fruit's ability to change her stature and bought a cloak from the system's shop. It didn't take long for the Marines that were following to go somewhere else.

Rin quickly head to the casino and saw Usopp and Nami just arriving. Soon, Zoro and Luffy (with Smoker still chasing him) came running towards the casino.

Everyone hurried inside but... They all (including Smoker) fell into a obvious trap made by Crocodile because they were all following Luffy.

"... I feel stupid..." Rin muttered, she genuinely forgot about this part and willingly follows Luffy into a trap.

'I'm the oldest in the crew right now, yet I fell into a trap that I KNEW existed... I feel so incredibly stupid...' She quietly thought to herself as she sit at the corner depressingly.

'... I rarely see you depress. But you do know smoker's in here too, right? Meaning...' Tomo said to Rin.

'.... I forgotten about smoker...' Rin said. 'You're right, it's only natural to get into trouble when you're around Luffy.' She start making excuses.

'Sure...' Tomo reply.

Smoker suddenly picked a fight with the crew but seconds later, Crocodile shows his face and begin talking to Luffy and Smoker.

Not long afterwards, Robin / Miss All Sunday brought Vivi who she captured into the room.

Crocodile reveal the truth about how he causes the droughts that's happening throughout the kingdom using his devil fruit ability.

He throw the key to the sea prism cage into the water, letting one of his giant pet crocodile (Bananadile) eat it.

Crocodile told them that the room will be completely flooded in 1 hour. As he said, water start gushing into the room from the floor.

"So... What do we do?" Rin ask.

Ussop and Nami panic as the room slowly filled with water and Crocodile begin to leave with Robin.

The Bananadile that ate the cage key somehow climbed into the room and attack Vivi.

As the door closes behind Crocodile, Rin took out a set of picklock from the inventory and attempt to unlock the cage.

"Give me a minute." Rin said as she try to figure out the lock.

"...?" Smoker noticed the picklock set appearing out of nowhere but didn't question it further since he also wants to get out from the cage.

"... This lock is odd.." Rin muttered.

'Or maybe I'm just terrible at this...' She thought to herself as she try to figure out what she's doing wrong.

*Click* The lock, unlocked.

'Nevermind, I'm great at this!' While Rin felt proud of herself, Zoro and Luffy quickly handled the Bananadile that was in the room.

The glass windows around the room starts breaking, filling the room with more water.

Unfortunately, Smoker attempted to reprimand Luffy (again) but Rin grab his shoulder, "Hey, don't you think you have bigger problem to deal with? You have a corrupted Shichibukai nearby and you're focusing on us?"

"I can deal with him once I'm done with you guys." Smoker point his baton to Rin.

Rin raise her hands to show she's not trying to fight, "Can you? Even with the Marines cadets you have right now, I doubt that." She question him.

"If the government can stop him, they should've done that earlier. Either they don't know, they can't or they're in cahoots with him." Rin runs her mouth without thinking.

'Are you trying to persuade him or provoke him?' Tomo asked.

"... Of course the last two is least likely the reason. So it probably means they don't know." Rin continued.

'I'm trying to persuade him, of course...' She said to Tomo as she realized she better stop mocking or slandering the government in front of Smoker.

"For whatever reason, Crocodile is trying to start a war inside this country and that'll happen sooner than any Marine reinforcement you could call... Look, I freed you from the cage just now, you owe me one so let us go and we're even.."

"..." After some thoughts, Smoker puts away his baton and said something about not letting them go the second time before he quickly left.

"... Let's go everyone." Rin said to the crew before they climb the stairs to leave.

Once they're back at the casino, they met Sanji who was searching for them. Sanji told them, Chopper is distracting Crocodile by attacking Crocodile's men and hiding away.

They decided to find a backdoor since Crocodile might be near the entrance. They found one and quickly left.
