Reborn As An Akatsuki

When I saw the Anbu, I knew I was crazy.


There was no freaking way I could possibly hope to win against them. All I could do was buy Sasuke some time to get away. But I doubt I could hold them for long.


And these guys weren't wasting any time either. From what I could observe there were 2 fire chakra users, 1 wind style and the last one... well he isn't displaying any chakra natures but for some reason, the chakra around him accumulated and ... I can't explain what I say but it was like it flowed through him... got to stay clear of him.


I mostly just dodged their attacks while maintaining my distance. My body seemed to move on its own, as reflexes kicked in.


They weren't attacking at a close range which was .. weird. Why aren't they coming close to me?


I was useless at close range combat, and they can apprehend me in a matter of seconds so why?


That when it hit me. Their odd behavior. Staying out of close range. The disarray in their coordination and movements. Are they scared?


I was spotted with the Akatsuki, and they have zero intel on me, and my strength and weapons. They're probably waiting for me to attack... but little do they know, I'm completely defenseless.


Maybe I should try talking to them. My talk no Jutsu brought me up to this point after all.


"Hey, guys! Can you just hear me out for a sec-" I started, coming forward, putting my hands up when a stream of Kunais whizzed past my face. I touched my left cheek only to find blood.


 My shoulder bones were definitely cracked from that last fall I took and cuts were all over my body, some pretty deep. I was getting distracted by the pain and examining my wounds when a fire style jutsu user snuck behind my back.


I realized it a bit too late. Knowing it was late to move away, I froze in fear when someone shoved me to the ground. The fire burned my legs and for the first time, I screamed.


I was in too much pain to notice much, but I knew if that person hadn't pushed me, I would have burned to death. My vision blurring I looked up to see... to see...


"Sasuke?! Why are you still here?" he looked at me, and annoyance filled me as I still couldn't figure what was going on in his mind. The pain in my right arm is unbearable, and the burns over my legs make me want to scream. I was about to when I noticed something.


"Sasuke!" I cried out and stood between the Anbu chakra user and Sasuke. So that's why chakra swirled in and out of him because he was manipulating it. I should have realized it sooner. Before he made a chakra blade and aimed it at Sasuke. Before I stood and it pierced my gut, and the most immense pain I have ever felt swallowed me. Before...
