Don't know, just think for yourself

"E-eh, little child, why are you crying? Is my face too scary for you?" The old man approached Hao Ren and squatted in front of him while stroking his head while Hao Ren was still wiping his tears so they wouldn't flow anymore.

"Cup-cup~ then I'm sorry, my face is like this..." The old man smiled showing a row of teeth with a slight chuckle trying to comfort him.

"Who's crying? I'm not crying, it's just that I was surprised to see grandpa here. And who did you call little child!"

Hao Ren then looked at the face of the elderly man who was only inches away in front of him with an annoyed look.

"Grandpa, it's m..me.." His words suddenly stopped as his face returned to surprise when he saw the face of the old man who he thought was his grandfather looked different.

"Hm? What's wrong little child? Do you know me?" The old man stopped stroking his head and turned to stroke his thin beard and asked with narrowed eyes, examining Hao Ren's face.

"Did we ever have some kind of relationship…?"

"Hah?" When he examined the face of the elderly man in front of him further, Hao Ren realized that he was not his grandfather.

'The wound is gone? No, he's not a grandpa...'

Hao Ren could tell that he wasn't his grandpa because he couldn't find any burn marks on the old man's forehead—the burn his grandfather had previously gotten from helping him when he was trying to cook for his sick sister.

While on the old man's face, there were even more small scratches on the forehead, cheeks and nose which seemed to make the old man's face a little scary, and as far as Hao Ren knew, such wounds had never existed on his grandfather's face.

"Ah sorry, I seem to have the wrong person." He hastily turned his face away feeling embarrassed for getting too carried away.

Now Hao Ren didn't know how to act. On the one hand, his heart was still very angry and reluctant to connect with other people because of the events he had experienced in his previous life.

But on the other hand the human face in front of him right now was so similar to his grandpa that he didn't know what to do.

Not wanting to think about it too much in the end Hao Ren chose to put on a flat expression and behave indiffrent.

The old man sighed before asking as he stood up, "Does my face remind you of someone to make you sad like that?"

"Not really. It's just that you look a little like my grandpa" Hao Ren said as he looked away.

The old man responded with a light laugh, "Hahaha, really? Let me guess, he must be a very precious figure to you, right?"

"Yeah, you could say that. To be precise there's no one else in this world I can trust but him." Hao Ren moved his face to look at the old man with a face that now turned serious. He had to raise his head because the size of the old man was too tall. He was so tall that he didn't even reach the size of his knees.

"The only one, huh..." The old man stopped laughing when Hao Ren's serious gaze.

'This child….Judging from his young age, what kind of things did he go through to make him think that?' That's what the old man thought as he looked into Hao Ren's eyes who looked earnest at what he just said.

From his gaze he also found a very deep hatred that he didn't think a child his age should have.

"Who are you, by the way, old man? Where are you from? Why would someone like you be here?" Hao Ren asked with a raised eyebrow and a flat accent that made him seem impolite.

"Your language is not appropriate for your age little brother. Didn't your parents teach you manners? And I should have asked that first." The old man chuckled with both hands holding his waist while shaking his head slowly in response to the attitude of the boy in front of him who felt he did not know manners.

His attitude like this seemed to remind him of someone.

The old man then rubbed the back of his head, "Well… since you asked first, I'll answer your question."

The old man then turned and walked back to the window, to where he had been standing. Looking out the window he began to explain who he really was and why he ended up here.

The old man said that his name was Venri.

"It's up to you what you want to call me, but it would be better if you called me Grandpa Ven."

Grandpa Ven told, before he was in here he was a great knight commander as well as a strategist admired by many of his subordinates.

Every strategy that he devised and arranged in such a way, with all his commands always brought satisfying results and achieved a victory.

During his life his name was widely known by the public, including his enemies who when they heard his name they would immediately shudder with fear.

From the various achievements that he has achieved, he is often used as a motivator by many children and teenagers who dream to be like him.

"But unfortunately at that time..."

"Okay, that's enough of the story. I don't think it's too important to hear all of your stories. The point is that you want to say that in your original world you are a respected figure, that's all." In the midst of his fun telling stories, Hao Ren suddenly cut his words with a lazy-sounding style.

Grandpa Ven who saw Hao Ren's attitude which he felt was really disrespectful for suddenly cutting his story wasn't angry at all. On the one hand, he actually felt a little funny, especially when he heard Hao Ren's voice which sounded amused in his ears.

Grandpa Ven smiled as he closed his eyes for a moment and chuckled softly, on the other hand Hao Ren's attitude like this again reminded him of someone who was none other than his own son.

Unlike most people who admire him to the point of making him a role model, his own son actually hates him and thinks he is not a figure who should be called a father.

Their relationship can be said to be not good because every time they meet they often fight. It was Hao Ren's attitude that became the hallmark of his son at that time.

The reason why his son behaved so simple, because Grandpa Ven rarely came home, most of his time was always spent on important missions and his position as a commander so he didn't have time to just play or train his son.

"So, why are you here now?" Seeing that Grandpa Ven was no longer making a sound, Hao Ren took the initiative to ask again as he walked around the front of the minimalist house and examined its contents.

As far as Hao Ren could see in the contents of the house there wasn't a single valuable item or object that he could find. All he found there was an empty bookshelf, a table with two worn chairs and an empty cupboard. There was one more room at the back of the house which he thought would not be much different from the one he saw now.

Grandpa Ven rested his hands on the pedestal of the window and stuck a part of his body out to enjoy the amazing view outside. He then replied, "I don't know... After I died, I don't know why I'm suddenly here," Grandpa Ven said, sounding sad but disguised by a slight chuckle.

Hao Ren stopped looking at the contents of the house, his gaze was now fixed on Grandpa Ven, he looked at him questioningly, 'What do you mean by suddenly being here? Is he the same as me? A player?'

Hao Ren shook his head hard, 'No way. Yes, not possible. He had said that he had lived here for a long time. He must have been stuck in this place for a long time. Maybe before I was here.' Hao Ren thought based on what he heard previous.

"I thought I was in heaven right now. But before I was here, someone had told me that someone would free me from this place. That's when I thought that I shouldn't be here."

Grandpa Ven took a deep breath before turning around and smiling at Hao Ren, "I never thought the figure he was referring to was you, little child."

Hao Ren's face contorted even more with questions regarding Grandpa Ven's statement.

"Who are you referring to?"

Grandpa Ven didn't answer right away, he rested his chin with a slight upward glance trying to remember the figure then answer his question.

"Hm...I think he owns this place."

"The owner of this place? Do you know him?" Hao Ren was surprised to hear that.

'Tch, why didn't the System ever tell me that this place actually had an owner.' Hao Ren grumbled inwardly with clenched fists.

"Do not know."

Hao Ren, who was dissatisfied with the answer, wanted to ask again but before that Grandpa Ven had already interrupted.

"Stop...How many questions have you asked me. Now it's my turn to ask. What's your name? Where are you from? Why would someone like you be here? Are you really the one who will free me from this place?"

Hao Ren scratched his head that didn't itch, feeling uncomfortable with all the questions, "Your questions are too many,"

Grandpa Ven raised an eyebrow, the veins on his forehead slightly popped out, "Huh? Didn't you just ask more questions than me?" His voice rose slightly.

Hao Ren chuckled then replied, "Very well I will answer your question. My name is Ren. Hao Ren. Regarding how I got here, in short I am also like you."

Grandpa Ven's eyes widened in surprise, "Just like me? So you were already dead before?"

"Yeah, but the difference…ah you probably wouldn't understand." Hao Ren had a hard time explaining it because he knew that he and Grandpa Ven were people from different worlds.

"Why?"

"It's not that I don't want to explain, but I really don't know how to explain it, and maybe you won't understand it."

"Too complicated to explain, huh..."

"That's how..."

After that Grandpa Ven didn't ask any more questions, neither did Hao Ren, the two of them were now silent and lost in each other's thoughts trying to digest their current state which was completely unreasonable.

Hao Ren thought back to some of the things that happened before he could be here. Grandpa Ven was thinking the same thing. In both of their minds are now filled with various questions that do not make sense and will certainly be very difficult to answer.

Moments later, a mission panel suddenly appeared in front of Hao Ren, interrupting his thoughts and surprising him.

Hao Ren's eyes widened, one thing that surprised him was that after the System had been silent for a long time without giving any direction, now suddenly explaining the mission he had to complete on this ninth floor which made him wonder about the purpose of the mission.

[Ninth floor quest — Mission : Defeat the old man in front of you!]

Hao Ren wanted to curse at the System right then and there but when he saw Grandpa Ven in front of him he finally swallowed his desire back.

'System Call: Oi, damn it! Seriously! Beat what? You suddenly appeared and are now directly telling me to fight him, what does this mean?

[Don't know, just think for yourself.]
