A New Team Was Formed

"Hello, would you like to join our team?" Suddenly a soft voice from behind stopped his walk. He turned around and saw 2 female players.

"Okay." From the guidebook instructions, to maximize experience gain, a team with 3 - 4 players will yield the best results.

Without thinking too much, Zhang Wei quickly agreed. The 3 of them were killing the level 2 monsters without talking too much. Clearly, everyone wanted to level up faster, chit-chat will only reduce their leveling speed.

A few minutes later, all of them reached level 4, and they all agreed to go to the level 4 monster location, skipping the level 3 monster. They ran to the west side of the map and it only took a few minutes. Without waiting any longer, they started killing the Two-Headed Wolf in front of them.

Any level 4 player trying to solo this Two-Headed Wolf needed to rest and recover HP (Hit point / Health) after each kill. However, a team comprising 3 players of level 4 respectively need not rest after each kill. The team will continue fighting Two-Headed Wolf without stopping.

Even though Zhang Wei has been among the earliest registered players, his advantages of knowing how and what couldn't be shown at an early stage. There were over a hundred players leveling at this location.

Meaning there are over 100 players at least level 4 around him at the moment. He was pretty sure there might already be a level 6 or 7 players leveling somewhere.

Every Two-Headed Wolf they killed, will give them around 3% for each of them. They need around 10 seconds to kill each of the Two-Headed Wolf, so after a little over 6 minutes, a bolt of energy strikes Zhang Wei first.

The bolt of energy released sparks and tendrils of energy. Then a spiral of energy travels up over Zhang Wei, while beams of energy and "plus" shaped sparks are released. A real-time light flashes then faded after indicating Zhang Wei became a level 5 player.

After they killed 3 more Two-Headed Wolf, Arya was followed by YellowRose, hit by a bolt of energy light indicating a level-up magical effect. Both of them were smiling after reaching level 5.

"I think we should continue leveling here until we reach level 6. After that, we can move to the next map, agree?" Zhang Wei does not want to waste his time by changing the leveling map so often. He planned to farm experience here until he reached level 6.

"Agree, but after level 6, we want to go back and buy some supplies." Replied Arya, while her friend YellowRose nodded, showing an agreement.

"No problem, I also want to buy some supplies and sell off all these low-level loot."

During the leveling period, Zhang Wei didn't take all the monster drops, he took some and left some for the female duo. However, he didn't realize that his act of sharing the loot made the 2 female players have a positive view of him.

One must know that during this time, players cannot create a party until they reach level 10. Hence, loot distribution is not fair. In a 3 player team, anyone can monopolize the monster drops. However, in this case, Zhang Wei didn't monopolize all the loot for himself.

Meanwhile, killing the level 4 Two-Headed Wolf became an easy task for them after reaching level 5. However, the experience earned after every kill was only 1.5% for each of them. The experience gained dropped half, but since they were able to kill the Two-Headed Wolf faster than before, in just 7 minutes all of them leveled up again.

The scene of them leveling up together looks quite beautiful. Even the surrounding players stopped for a second just to see the bolt of magical energy hitting Zhang Wei and his teammate leveling up.

Zhang Wei had to admit, leveling together with the two girls was quite beneficial to him. Therefore, he intends to team up with them again on the next map. He could see that these two girls were not beginner players, they had some experience with MMORPG before.

After reaching level 6, all of them ran back to Azfield Town. It only took them a few minutes. Zhang Wei unloaded his loot and sold it to the nearest NPC merchant. In return, he earned 200 copper coins. He bought 20 lower-level health potions and 5 lower-level antidote potions sold at 4 copper coins respectively. Each of the potions is capable of healing 25 hit points, so, with his 160 hp, it will be able to save him from a critical situation several times.

There is no point in upgrading equipment at this level, because of the speed of leveling up, players will change equipment really fast. Hence, buying good equipment or weapons at the moment will only be a waste of coins.

Zhang Wei looked at his surroundings. There were thousands upon thousands of players inside the town. It became too crowded in less than an hour after E2.0 opened. Some were looking for help, some players were looking for something and others were doing nothing, just chit-chatting with their friends.

He ignored them all and went to the east gate of Azfield Town. They promised to meet again at the east gate location. While Zhang Wei was waiting for the two girls, a level 6 player was looking at him.

"Would you like to form a team with me?" Asked the male player bearing the in-game name BlackApple.

"Sorry, I already have a team, I am waiting for them actually." Zhang Wei didn't feel good about the player in front of him. He gave a bad vibe.

BlackApple said nothing. He walked to another player asking the same question. His expression was quite weird, nobody wanted to team up with him. Zhang Wei ignored him and checked on his status windows.

Soon, the two girls Arya and YellowRose came. A simple look from Zhang Wei, both of the girls didn't change their equipment. Meaning they also knew that upgrading equipment at this moment was a bad idea.

"Shall we go now?" Arya didn't want to waste any more time than they already did.

"Okay." Zhang Wei also can't wait to level up, any players at this moment were racing to reach level 10 and become the first awarded player.

They entered a portal and appeared on the east side map of Azfield Town called Azga map. It is suitable for level 5 to 11 players. At the moment, this map was crowded with level 5 players. Suddenly an announcement appeared in front of their field of view.

Azfield Town Announcement: Congratulations to Player LiGHTNing for becoming the first player to reach level 10 at Azfield Town. Please collect your award from NPC Ivy.

The announcement was made 3 times so that everyone can see it. Zhang Wei and his teammates Arya and YellowRose were surprised by these early announcements.

It surprised them because they have been killing monsters with lighting speed and someone exceeded them by a large margin.

That is a 4 level difference between them. If this announcement surprised them, what more can we say for other players? Some players even died by a monster attack while still astonished, reading the announcement.

"Maybe he had a lot of help from his party members." Arya said it softly but clearly.

"Yes, if his teammates keep helping by luring monsters to him for the final hit, this kind of result is possible." YellowRose said.

Zhang Wei said nothing. He knew these kinds of tricks were only effective on a low-level map. If he employs a lot of players helping him using the same tricks, he will level up faster than LiGHTNing.

However, he had his objectives to accomplish. Hence, getting to level 10 as soon as possible is not one of his objectives. Moreover, even the award didn't impress him at all.

Zhang Wei and the two girls ran for the poisonous rat location, a level 8 monster. The digital guidebook listed the monster for levels 1 – 15 only. After that, it is up to the players to discover for themselves. Hence, between levels 1 to 15, every player could plan ahead after reading the guidebook.

From afar, Zhang Wei could see that over a hundred players were leveling in this location. Some of them were lying on the ground dead. Evidently, they didn't prepare well before coming to this location.

"Someone please help me!" Suddenly a dying voice asking for help.
