Training

Regina asked Dev, "How much money do you need for Papa's treatment?"

Dev needed the money right now if he hoped for Lily to reach Level 1, so he couldn't do charity. His goal is the most important for him.

He answered, "I'll charge one gold coin per day for treatment of your father. As I'll only treat him every day."

He earned 80 silver coins on average this month. The amount he requested exceeded his average earnings. He didn't care, though. He didn't become a healer for doing charity.

Regina nodded, hearing, his answer. She then rushed somewhere and brought a pouch with her when she came back.

She gave the pouch to Dev. He nodded and took it. He opened the sack and was stunned to see gold coins in the bag.

Exactly thirty coins were there in the pouch. Dev was stunned to get this much from Regina, even though he hasn't started the treatment.

"It is thirty gold coins. Enough for a month's treatment. Is this much advance enough?" Regina asked Dev.

"No, It is enough," Dev nodded and answered.

"Are you sure of giving such a large amount as an advance? There are chances that my treatment can be ineffective," Dev asked Regina, as he was astonished by the large amount of gold. So, he wanted Regina to be sure before giving him such a large amount as an advance.

She nodded and answered, "Yes, it's fine. Money isn't the problem. You just have to treat my father."

Dev put the sack of coins in his pocket after getting affirmation from Regina.

As Dev didn't dare to touch the poisoned area, he started transferring Prana through the man's head. It didn't take long for him to empty his Prana. He decided to leave, as he couldn't do anything here anymore.

"Okay, it is time for me to leave. I'll come back at the same time tomorrow. It'll take some time for me to see whether my treatment is effective or not," Dev told Regina and started to leave.

"I'll be waiting," She responded.

Dev nodded and left.

When Dev returned to his room in the clinic, Lily was waiting in a corner and suddenly pounced on him. Dev didn't expect the attack and fell to the ground. After standing up, he glared at Lily. But, he did not get a single reaction from her. She acted as if nothing happened.

As it has been a long time since he played with Lily, he decided to play with her today. He picked her up, but she bit him and ran away from him. He chased her, and they started fighting after that.

The fight was brutal for Dev. He didn't come out as the victor of the battle. There were scratches all over his body. Lily had become more powerful. Due to her small size and rapid movements, Dev wasn't able to save himself from her attack. In the end, he had to run out of the room.

As he got free early today, he decided to extend his archery practice today.

There was a training ground near the clinic. His bow had changed from the one he made in the jungle. He bought the bow from Carlos for only 10 gold coins.

The bow was brown, with gems adorn on it. It was just a regular bow, but with good durability. Dev hasn't got the opportunity to see any magic weapon until now.

The archery training ground was in an enormous area. The most distant target was about 700 m.

Dev wasn't that good, so he chose a 100 m target.

There was a circle post for the practice of still targets. There was a tiny hole in the center of the circle post, only the tip of the arrow could go through that hole.

For moving targets, the arena used made-up birds. The only hitting target on the bird was its eye. It is up to the practitioner to select the height, distance, and speed of the moving target.

Dev started with a 10 m still target. He successfully shot the targets until the length crossed 100 m. His accuracy decreased as the distance increased. He hit 1 in 5 shots when the distance increased to 200 m. He failed 10 out of 10 times when he tried to knock the 250 m target.

He stopped his practice shooting still targets. He chose his next target, the bird at the height and distance of 50 m with a speed of 30 m/s. He successfully hit the eye of the bird.

Instead of increasing the distance, he raised the speed of the target by 1 m/s. His arrows accurately hit the mark until the speed crossed 60 m/s.

He decided to increase the height and distance by 10 m and speed at 30 m/s. His limit this time was also 60 m/s.

He immersed himself in training. Only after 5 hours did he stop the training, as even standing meant too much for his body right now.

When the time came for paying, his heart was bleeding. This 5-hour training cost him 10 gold coins. He already spent one-third of the advance he got from Regina.

He returned to the clinic. When he entered the clinic, he searched for Lily tensely. He was in no mood to be pounced upon by Lily.

When he saw Lily sleeping, he took a heavy sigh, and his nerves relaxed. He took a bath to freshen himself.

As the sun had already dawned, it was time for dinner. He picked up sleeping Lily and made his way toward the Inn where Rose lived.

He knocked on her door. Rose was meditating in her room when she heard a knock. She stopped her meditation and opened the door.

"What happened to you?" Rose asked Dev after seeing scratches on him.

"It's her courtesy," He pointed at the peacefully sleeping Lily.

"She beat you up, this bad," Rose chuckled.

Dev's face turned red. "You know. How much I love her?" He tried to stand his ground with a red face.

"Yeah, I know,"

"Are you waiting for somebody to carry you in the room?" Rose scoffed.

He entered the room and asked, "What are we having for dinner today?"

"It's up to you," she responded.

It's been many days since I ate meat. I'll order chicken curry for myself, and a fruit salad for you.

"Meow,"

Lily also woke up. Dev looked at Lily and said, "Oh, so it's dinner time, and all your sleep goes away. No dinner for you today."

Dev got an unexpected response from Lily. She jumped upon his shoulder and hit his head with her paws.

"It seems your guts have gotten bigger," He glared at Lily.

After many attempts, he picked her up by the scruff.

Her every plan failed when she got picked up by her scruff. She looked at Dev with her cute eyes and made a pitiful face.

"Who's the boss now?" He said smugly.

He put her down in the next second, as it was painful for Lily.

He then played with Lily for the whole night that day to coax her.
