XVII got awkward, hearing that Carla's friend was also present in the meeting. The meeting has already started in awkwardness. He knew Elves have knowingly sent Carla's friend in the negotiations to insult his group from time to time.

"You don't have to apologize. It's me that should apologize," XVII apologized. He didn't want to make the matter worse. 

When you are in negotiations, you always have to gain the upper side, but Gnomes were already inferior even before the talks started. XVII couldn't do anything to change the situation.

The female Elf in the back didn't respond to the apology of XVII. "Okay, let's discuss what you've come here for," The leading Elf announced.

XVII nodded and sat down. Mark stood up from the group and announced, "Is the Elf King coming?"

The leading Elf shook his head and plainly answered, "It's up to the mood of the king. We can't promise anything."
