He stared down to his feet as they swung back and forth where he was seated waiting for his newly met grandfather to come back. He had asked for him to stay there and so he was, with many thoughts through his mind.
He was seated on a Cushioned windowsill seat, staring out into the grand garden that was beyond the glass that separated him from nature.
His small hand pressed against the window, the palm of his hand feeling the coldness of the glass. With time the coldness gradually disappeared.
It was amazing, with how everything was structured. Just looking out the window he still couldn't see everything, there was so much more. He couldn't help but wonder if his mother had been raised in this house, if she had, she was lucky.
Then again, the house he had been living in until the incident was beautiful and large but not as grand as the house he was currently seated in, which from his understanding was called the 'Malfoy Manor'.
Which he knew from when his grandfather had explained the use of a 'portkey'- which he thought had a weird feeling when they used it to leave the hospital.
He had heard of portkeys before, from overhearing his parents' conversations but didn't think too much into it. He just added the new term he had heard from this life to the many things he had yet to see for himself.
As of now, he was still unsure of his current living situation with both his parents absent but it was obvious he could no longer stay in the house they had been staying in.
When his grandfather had taken him here to the Malfoy Manor, he had told him he currently had 'temporary custody' of him with that at hand there was a chance he would have to move in with other relatives at some point, in the near future.
It made him wonder who his other relatives were, were they Malfoys as well or were they his father's family, the Blacks?
Although, he felt slightly better knowing he other families out there, if he wasn't able to be with his parents, at least there are other people he was able to call family- if not his father and if his mother was in fact-
He was still finding it hard to believe that Sirius was indeed a criminal, but he didn't want to think too much into it, there was nothing he could do, nothing he could say to change the fact of which had arisen, that being Sirius Black was a criminal- he had seen the daily prophet, which didn't put Sirius Black in a good light, proving what was told to him to be right.
A sigh escaped his lips, as he wondered how his mother would take the news. He was so content with his newly given life- he had a happy family, a caring father a loving mother, but that all seemed to come crashing down in one night.
All he could do now was hope they could find his mother, then it could just be his mother and himself- if life wills it.
His grandfather eventually did introduce himself, after he patiently waited for the child to control his emotions, which didn't take too long.
Abraxas Malfoy, Lord of the most ancient and noble house of Malfoy, his mother's father, his maternal grandfather.
Just as he was staring out the window in boredom, he heard a crack- a familiar one.
He whipped his head around towards the location of where he had heard the sound come from and was no longer presented with the beautiful scenery of the garden and was now faced with something… opposite of such.
It was one of the two house-elves his grandfather seemed to have. He couldn't say he was used to many aspects of this new world. He found himself uncomfortable in 'it's' presence.
"D-Does young master Black want Filth to get anything for you" as the… creature spoke to him its voice wavered seemingly afraid of failure or displeasing the young child in front of it, the face facing downwards when speaking, having yet to be given permission to look up.
He knew of house elves, he had met one once before when his mother had visited one of her friends and never again did he want to go back, he couldn't help but find them to be creepy.
He unconsciously shifted to his right where he sat, moving away from it.
"… No" Leonis finally spoke out slowly with uncertainty as he gazed upon the house elf in tattered clothing… he wasn't sure if he could even call it 'clothing'.
The elf called 'Filth' lifted its head not even a second later with wide eyes that seemed to begin to shed tears without warning, "Has Filth offended young master Black?" It spoke again its handshaking as they held each other and suddenly Leonis felt only more uncomfortable with seeing tears flow from its eyes.
"No…" Leonis trailed off before speaking again, "… is your name really Filth?" He inquired with raised brows.
The tears magically disappeared as its head bobbed up and down vigorously, yearning for attention and to get in good graces "Yes, Master Malfoy names me Filth".
"Names you?" Leonis muttered under his breath confused as his eyes lingered on the house-elf, beginning to wonder if it was a male or female.
He continued to stare at the house-elf with a raised brow, the longer he stared the more he observed the clothes it wore, he was comparing this elf that was in front of him to the one he had seen before, which was nowhere near the state this one was than the other.
It was obvious this magical world all had their ideas of how to treat an elf, this elf, in particular, being unlucky.
Leonis then turned his head to the left and stared down the hallway as he heard voices before he heard the foot steps heading his way, the steps getting closer and closer. His grandfather was back, but not alone.
He turned his lax gaze towards his right down the hallway his grandfather and two other people, a man and a woman. There was no doubt that the man was a Malfoy with the striking resemblance with the blonde hair.
He started to wonder if it was just a thing, where all Malfoy's had blonde hair, but probably not seeing as the woman walking along them wasn't blonde but then again, she might not be a Malfoy but the child in her arms was, with blonde hair sat on the top of the child's head.
As he stared, he hadn't noticed the disgust that sat on his grandfather's face as the man got closer to where he was sitting, his pace was faster than the other two, he had left behind as he headed towards where he was standing.
"Did I give you permission to raise your head", His voice was as vile as could be, just as his gaze was when staring down at the house-elf.
He could sense his grandfather's abhorrence when glaring down at the house-elf.
Leonis' gaze shifted towards the house-elf who was now quivering in fear, it was obvious the elf knew it was in some type of trouble.
Deciding to intervene Leonis spoke, shifting the attention to himself other than the quivering elf "It was asking if I needed anything".
Leonis heard a snort from his right, once he spoke, it was the lady holding the possibly mini-Malfoy.
His grandfather hummed as his face returned to how it naturally sat and Leonis spoke again his attention turned to his grandfather, "… is it really called filth?"
With that question asked his grandfather barked out a laugh, one that surprised both the other adults who stood in the hallway, while Leonis sat there waiting for an answer seeing as it was a straightforward one, he wasn't exactly amused by the whole situation.
Before he knew it his laughter dialled down as a grey owl flew through the hall majestically with a note tied with a black string at its feet, grabbing all their attention.
As the owl flew closer, its wings started to slow down and just as it neared his grandfather it landed on his outstretched arm. Not wasting any time, the man untied the note that was attached to the bird and read it with a serious expression, one Leonis had yet to see.
The ageing man let out a heavy sigh, his facial expression laid the same, he glanced to his side looking towards the other blonde, "Come."
It happened quite fast. Before he knew it, he was alone, well not all alone.
"Leonis"
A voice called from his side; he snapped his attention to the woman who had called out his name. He was no longer staring at the retrieving back of his grandfather and the other blond but now the norrette.
Her eyes reminded him of Sirius somehow.
She had a kind smile on her face. She adjusted the sleeping child in her arms as she neared him.
With her warm smile, she spoke again, "Let me introduce myself. I am Narcissa Malfoy, your aunt" spoke
Ahh, so that must mean the blonde man would be her husband, his uncle.
"Your father was actually my cousin, well is..." she trailed off.
With that said his brows furrowed at the information. She was his father's cousin? That would mean he was related to both her and her husband since the likely situation is that the blond man was his mother's brother.
He didn't answer her, he wasn't sure what to say, maybe he should introduce himself as well to make a good impression.
His attention was drawn to the child in her arms, the child's eyes were wide open, staring at him with curiosity filled behind the gaze.
Eyes similar to himself.
The woman noticed and a small chuckle was let out, "It seems the little Dragon is now awake" she sounded out as the child in her arms let out a giggle at her voice. "Would you like to say hello to your cousin Leonis?" she asked the child in her arms. She had already lowered herself to the ground facing Leonis, with her child in arms, on her lap.
"...L-lon?" the child tried to repeat the name. She chuckled at the attempt, "Leonis" Leonis himself corrected staring right into the child's eyes, seeing if he could get it right. He couldn't help but admit the child was adorable with his chubby cheeks.
"L-lonis" the blonde child tried again. Narcissa watched with a smile, while Leonis's brows slightly raised.
"You're not pronouncing the 'e', let's try again, but I'll break it apart for you. Say Leo" Leonis started off, he felt like an idiot for even bothering, but what else was there to do than correct the child's pronunciation of his name.
He watched as Draco pouted at the task, after waiting for a few seconds he tried it, "…Lo? Cannot say Lonis."
Leonis huffed and just hoped with a few months, the boy will have no trouble pronouncing Leonis.

He flipped to the next page where he stood, eagerly reading the book he had chosen at random when he had ventured into the library to kill time. He flipped to the next page where he stood, eagerly reading the book he had chosen at random when he had ventured into the library to kill time. He barely made time to go to the library; he usually found himself there if he was given an assignment that required him to use a nook as a reference or to help him study the lesson.
Although he never imagined he'd end up reading a book about plants... But then, what else was there to do when bored?
'The venomous Tentacual can expel the venom from its roots, and its spikes are deadly. Its bites are highly venomous and could easily-'
"There you are!" Throughout the library, a loud voice could be heard. He averted his gaze from the book to be greeted by the enthusiastic six-year-old.
"Drake," he said as he slid the book back into its place, having just lost his interest in the book.
The blonde frowned at his cousin as he crossed his arms. "What were you doing! I looked everywhere; why is it always so difficult to find you?" The words were difficult to understand because of the lisps he had as a result of the four missing teeth in the top row of his mouth.
"- Never mind that… your grandfather said you have to go flying with me." As the blonde spoke, he tried to project confidence, while he referred to Leonis's great grandfather, Arcturus.
Leonis raised an amused brow. He'd like to say it wasn't often that his cousin lied, but then he'd be lying. The boy was obviously lying, as he always was. Draco had to be the centre of attention all the time, and he had to have his way.
He began to wonder if the boy would ever be adept at deception. "I know you're lying, Draco, so why are you here?" Leonis inquired as he passed the boy on his way to the door.
Draco chased after him, and he defended himself, "I'm not!"
"Really?" Leonis called out to entertain the boy.
"Of course not, I am a man of honour!"
Leonis came to a halt, preventing himself from smirking, and turned to his cousin with a gentle smile, saying, "Okay."
Draco's eyes widened with delight. "Really?!"
"Of course, we'll just ask my grandfather first," Leonis said, nodding. When he said that, he saw Draco turn paler than he was already, the smile on his face fading.
"-Forget it! We don't need to go flying right now..." The younger boy quickly rambled out.
Leonis held back his laughter because he didn't want to laugh in the boy's face; the blonde had too much pride to let someone laugh at him; unfortunately, he let out a snicker, which enraged Draco.
"Stop laughing! You did that on purpose didn't you!"
With that said, it only took Leonis allowing himself to laugh out loud for Draco's face to turn bright red with each passing second.
"Stop!" the blonde yelled, not liking this one bit.
"Stop acting like you're better than me because you're not!" Draco hissed out. He finally calmed down, he always found amusement in teasing the boy.
"I never said I was better than you Draco" Leonis simply answered, trying got calm the boy down before he would start crying like many times before.
"But you think it! And you're not- because you're a bastard with a filthy blood traitor for a father!" with the outburst, Leonis stayed calm seeing as there wasn't anything to be angry at other than the fact Draco was still learning how to keep his composure.
He took a step back from the boy, he could tell Draco didn't mean what he said and regretted it. Draco opened his mouth again hesitantly, trying to speak again- but nothing came out, instead, he huffed in frustration and dashed past his cousin, leaving Leonis alone in the corridor.
Leonis had grown used to Draco's random outburst, but this was the first time he was hearing all this from the boy's mouth.
It was clear that he had heard this from the other purebloods, which was fair since everyone was free to have their own opinion, it was just shameful that they would do so to a child- To them, he was a child, a child who could be easily hurt by such words, but he wasn't, so he didn't care all that much.
No one actually knew if Sirius and Adra had gotten married, but he really didn't see the problem with it if they hadn't, but yet the society he was now being raised in had a problem with it, not just that but his father. Some continued to see Sirius as a blood traitor while others saw him as the dark lord's right-hand man, which he didn't understand, he was either a or b, why were they separating their opinions when it was clearly in front of them, seeing as the man was in Azkaban.
It has been 5 years since his mother's death- yes, her death. A few days later his family had told him, that her death had been confirmed, there was even a funeral. A funeral with both families from the House of Black and the House of Malfoy was a short ceremony.
It didn't take long for him to get to terms with his new situation, that being his new mother being dead, and his father being a murderer and traitor.
After the years he thought little of them both, mostly his father.
Although someone he had been thinking about was the death of Bellatrix Lestrange- He would have never thought it would be his own family to kill his mother. He found it hard to come to terms with the woman once being a Black, none the less, his father's first cousin.
Unfortunately for him the woman, herself was in Azkaban very much as his father was. He had wanted to be the one to end her life, she didn't deserve it for what she did, the rest of the world wouldn't care if she was gone either.
Not only had she practically made him an orphan but had also made another boy, Draco's age an orphan. He wasn't sure what the boy's name was, it hadn't said so on the article he had found, all he knew was that they were Longbottom's, a pureblood family part of the sacred 28.
When he had been 2, his grandfather, Abraxas had brought him back to the Malfoy family, mentioning how he wasn't sure how long Leonis would be in his custody. Not long after being in the Malfoy manor for about 2 hours, the Blacks came. Lord Black, his Great Grandfather, had come with his other great grandfather, Pollux.
The man had been easily able to get legal custody of him since he was Sirius's son. he had watched his Maternal grandfather argue against it since Sirius had been disowned, but his paternal grandfather had shut it down mentioning how his disownment had not been legally done, so therefore he was still part of the family- moreover they needed an heir with both Sirius and his uncle Regulus gone.
He lived with his great-grandfather, who he called Grandfather Arcturus. He never questioned why he didn't live with his grandmother, Walburga Black, having met the woman, he was glad he didn't live with her. She had too many expectations, for his liking.
He continued through the halls of the corridor after being left alone by Draco, following the path the boy had run through. Having known Draco since the boy had been one, he knew the boy would be brooding about the place even though it had been him that had insulted Leonis.
Using his hands, he pushed open the double doors, that led into one of the lounges. He was greeted by the stares of his Great grandfather Arcturus and his Aunt Narcissa, who were having tea.
"What did you do to Draco now?" he heard his grandfather ask, the man's eyes gleaming in amusement.
He heard his aunt chuckle at the remark, seeing as sooner or later Draco would either throw a tantrum or burst into tears when around Leonis. With all that, Leonis still found it hard to understand why the blonde still wanted to be in his presence, it was annoying, but he grew used to it.
"Nothing grandfather, do you think that low of me? We're merely playing hide and seek." He answered lightly. He turned his gaze to his aunt, grinning. "Looking as lovely as ever Aunt."
With that said he ran out of the room, not wanting to wait for her response, to his frequent compliments.
Finally, after a few minutes of looking, he found the boy.
He was sat in a chair with a frown on his face, cleaning under his nails.
"Draco, why did you run away?" he asked as he neared the boy. Draco seemed startled at the unexpected appearance of his cousin.
"… I didn't run away, I was only, um- I don't need to tell you anything!" came the boy's defensive tone turning his gaze towards the wall at his side.
"Ahh, I suppose you don't have to. If I did offend you, I guess you don't need to visit me anymore." Leonis spoke in a teasing tone, knowing Draco would be against it.
Draco's eyes widened, "No! I'll still come- I'm sorry! I didn't mean to call you a bastard… I know it's bad because my mother told me I shouldn't be saying the word and that it was rude… and I made fun of your father, sorry" he blurted out as his head hung low, knowing he was in the wrong. It really wasn't often Draco would confess to his wrongings.
The boy really did sound sorry. Leonis walked up to him.
His hand raised him in the air, then landed on the short blonde hair and ruffled it. "It's fine Draco, everyone makes mistakes, but next time you have to think before you speak because anything you say could offend people. I don't want you to offend the wrong people, it's better to make friends than enemies."
Draco had flinched at the unexpected contact, knowing very well his cousin wasn't a fan of it. He would have never imagined this would be happening.
He dropped his hand to his side and Draco looked up with hopeful eyes, "…Will you go flying with me now?"
Leonis sighed into his hands, not at all surprised by the question. Looking back at the boy, he simply nodded in response to the request. He didn't mind flying, he glanced out the window at the side.
It seemed like perfect weather to go flying! Another joy of this world.
