Just Another High School Story!

When Leah shook Ethan's hand, her hand shook a little, cold ripples like waves were crashing against Leah's heart, Ethan seemed to have changed, his body was more toned, like hers... what the hell, he had exercised with Mindy, he hated working out the most, when she'd done it, he had not once been serious, she could not, not even slightly but completely not believe it, his veins popped out, and so did the fire in his eyes, despite that fire, his hand felt so cold, she wondered whether this was the same guy she had fallen for, promised to be better for, happier for, but soon she shoved her feelings aside, and walked into her court, she had a team to lead, she had not been removed from the position of Captain, all of the team had unanimously decided they would wait for her recovery, everyone was congratulating and high-fiving her, she had a determined look in her eyes, their team was, for some odd reason called, for this game obviously, "Little Lions", and the opposite was called, "Black Beetles", they were not even in the same phylum, huh, Leah thought, too much into biology during that time, "Maybe Ethan and I were never mean to be!"

With pain, the news of Mindy making her team was broken to her, "Girls and Guys, make sure you don't mess up when it comes to giving a direct chance for smashes, especially E's too good when it comes to smashing, make sure you can at least, always keep the shots closer to the net, and coordinate more, it is always the centre holding the entire team but the centre wants to make you more independent, so when I comes to one-on-ones, you each have individual strengths to show, cool?" "Yes, Boss!" Leah smiled at Xin's comment, this was a blessing for her, Xin had recently joined the Volleyball team, the soccer guys had no events planned for now, she just practiced with them at night sometimes, and then they would eat meals and like old times, she would tell stories and they would laugh heartily, she had not known happiness in this measure existed, when she had met them, they did go out for meals often but Leah didn't have the confidence to join them, this dress, that dress, this hair clip, that one, it was too much hassle to be concerned about your body, then your clothes, on top of that, she didn't want to eat out, but now she could because she knew what to order, when to stop. Because of not understanding when she was finished with her meal, life had been hell, now she knew what her feelings were and how she felt after finishing portions, she had taken to writing down her feelings after meals instead of calories, for example instead of writing, I ate 200 calories for breakfast, she would write, I ate some bread for breakfast, and I felt good, no pain, that's cool then! Eat that much and be happy, she had made another food journal with no numbers, she had also taken a class to understand what a weighing machine actually measured, what it represented, she realised that not only is it absurd to adjust your diet just based on the number that your weighing scale shows, but it is insane to let those numbers define you, so what if you have an extra pound then you did a couple months ago, you should not starve yourself, especially people that lead active lifestyles, instead of losing weight, sometimes they end up gaining weight, and then beat themselves up over it, that number means so many things, it isn't just fat, some of it could be muscle, some of it water weight, if you're tall and you weigh a little more than most people of your age, it is normal, height, gravity, your mass, your diet, your body fat percentage, how you react to different food groups, everything is different than the person you are comparing yourself to, it is not just eating your soul away for naught but you are letting it hold you back. If you like dance, do it, don't worry about how you look in that outfit, you look graceful, if you like walking around rather than running, do that, how the hell do you think British people digested their food, in old times, read Austen's novels and you'll be terrified of how many walks have been mentioned, do something you love rather than doing cardio tirelessly, or weights, or whatever you do that you don't like to, if you only do something half-heartedly, half-assed, your results won't be as good, the video you were watching, or the exercises you were doing aren't to blame, pay attention, you will know what you like, for example, originally Leah was under the impression that she disliked cardio a lot, but after properly doing it, while managing her diet, drinking enough water, listening to good music, and feeling the burn, she realised high-intensity gave her an adrenaline rush, and a dopamine one like no other, therefore, she cut out running a bit, and added more intensity to her cardio workouts, replacing walking with running, she liked to walk around, now she wanted there to be someone she could talk to while she walked, she wanted Ethan to accompany her, he would love this, since he had hated running. She wasn't as hard on herself as before, she managed her active hours pleasantly and gleamed whenever she looked at her Fitbit, was there a better owner than her, she always completed her steps, and it wasn't a pain anymore, she loved it, her Versa didn't even need to remind her!
