[22] Not an Awkward Moment

Our session for the day ended just as lunch was rolling in at the Academy. Our tutors told us that Practicals would begin the next day, and that they would try as best they could to have it all done by lunch once more. That was to be our schedule they'd decided -everything was to be done before lunch and the rest of the day would be ours to waste with whatever. All seven of us, new Guardians, exchanged numbers and promised to keep in contact outside of class. We dissolved into a crowd of hungry Wielders on their way to the first floor, eager to see what was coming for lunch. I walked over to the elevator with one thought in mind.

Ethan.

I wondered who that girl was –the one I’d seen him with. She must have been one of his friends. Maybe she was one of those girls we talked about in the car... one of those girls he said didn’t matter. I plotted what I would say to him about her when next I saw him.
