There it was; the dreaded house along the main road of the small suburban village called Safari Lane. Faye wondered if she should have bothered visiting, and she was tempted to drop the idea altogether... but it was still raining out, and this was the closest place to a familiar shelter that she could have hopped into.
She stood at the door of the two storey house, painted light blue but its colour fading from constant contact with the sun and showing an obvious lack of consideration of its condition by its owners. She rang the doorbell and waited. The door opened, and there he stood; that tall old man, in shock of the face before him.
"Faye!" he smiled, both happy and surprised.
"Hi, dad," she shrugged.
