[81] The Shield

The rains began to fall, and flashes of lightning could be seen gaining on the Guardians as they stood there inside the semi-damp cave. They all know -except for Faye- that whenever heavy rains fell or whenever this area got too concentrated with water, the lake filled up and water ran into the cave. They definitely didn't want that happening, but Ethan couldn't help spilling his emotions into his ability once more.

"How are we getting back to the other side?" Aureen asked, leaning against the walls of the cave.

"Leith could take us back?" Celena said, turning to respond to her. She left Ethan by the door for a moment, though she didn't want to. She knew he wouldn't give up how he was feeling that easily, even with her comfort or encouragement.

Everyone looked to Leith as he cried in silence on Faye's chest.

"So can you do it?" Liz asked him, disregarding his state of mind.

Leith backed up a little from Faye to look at her as she slept. "I... can't."
