Leith was devastated. He couldn't bring himself to speak with the vigour he always tried to show that he had and he couldn't bring himself to feel any joy. He knew he should have thought it a sin to think of ways Faye could undo her actions and not become a Muse, but he immediately cursed himself for even remotely pursuing those thoughts.
He had a lot on his mind. Initially, his heart had taken a figurative punch when Ethan told him about their shared kiss. He didn't know how to feel about that. He tried shrugging it off, but how could he? Underneath all the internal baggage he hid with a smile or two, or a stern command, he was quite protective of things that belonged to him and people he loved dearly. Somehow he couldn't stand to see Faye and Ethan get along.
