Chapter 3

CHAPTER THREE

At the reminder of not yet having a boyfriend by her mum, Lea thought once again about the owner of the owner of the car who bashed her car. “Ahh, yes, I’m supposed to repair my boss’ car today, I totally forgot and daydreaming about ‘Mr., I’ll take care of the bills’ ” She laughed as she thought about this.

“Good morning Sir” She called her boss before to see if the car is available for pickup. “Lea, how can I help you?” He asked nonchalantly like he had far better things to do than pick up her call. ‘That’s rude’ she thought, anyway. "About the vehicle, I want to ask if it’s available for repair, Sir.”

“Don’t worry about that, I’ll go personally since I’m the owner, my wife is using the car now.”

“Okay Sir.” He cut the phone after saying “Don’t expect to drive my car again; you will have to use public transport, understood?”

“Yes Sir.”

Her last hope of seeing the guy had gone down the drain ‘Maybe…Just maybe we are not for each other. He is the first guy ever to look at me even though it was a bit pervert -ish.”

She decided to do what she knows how to do; she knelt down, a shawl on her head, her hands together as she prayed.

“Dear Father in Heaven, the God who neither sleeps nor slumber for my sake, I thank you for yesterday, day and forever. Forgive me all my sins against you and humanity. I ask of you please give me an husband of your choice cause I know you do what’s best for me. I know you will do it. Thank you Lord.” Then she got up and continued her day to day activities – cleaning and chores.

Then her phone rang, she picked it up.

Lea: “Hey babe, how are you?”

Linda: “I’m fine. Long time Linda, I haven’t heard from you in awhile.”

Lea: I’m sorry been busy, running errands.

Linda: how are you? I heard from my mum that you had an accident.

Lea: Yeah… It was a small injury, I’m alright now.

Linda: Are you sure? No, this won’t do, I’ll have to see you to be sure.

Lea: you mean face time?

Linda: No, in person. It’s been three years we’ve seen each other.

Lea: Linda, what’s going on?

Linda: what makes you think something must be wrong before I decide to visit you?

Lea: I know you, we haven’t been gone from each other as long as we did in college, so spit it out now. What is it?

Linda: Okay… You know me so well. My mum after receiving call from yours has been paranoid and on her toe for me, I now have a curfew. A curfew, Lea, I need an escape and she would only allow if it’s you; so what do you say?

Lea: you know I can’t deny you. I’m happy to. I have a lot to talk about. How is Anna (Linda’s mum name?)

Linda: Me too. She is overly too fine. (Lea smiles at the sound of that)

Lea: so how is work?

Linda: it’s okay, I need a holiday though. What about you? How’s that boss of yours treating you?

Lea: I think after damaging his car added a lot to him meaning me, but I’ll survive. You know me.

Linda: Alright we will talk more when I come, mum’s coming.

Lea: ok, so when?

Linda: Next week. Greet Isabelle for me too.

Lea: Alright, see you then.

Then they both hung up, Lea definitely happy to have another female in the house apart her mum.

….

The Jackson’s were at a café coming back from the gym with a song playing underneath in the café ‘…There’s a pain in my heart and it won’t go away’

‘And I know I’m falling deep, I need you here with me x2’

‘Can I tell you something just between you and me?’

‘When I hear your voice, I know am finally free…’

“It is not a love song, but a song about an aching lover.”

“So... What is the difference? Do you or do you not have someone?”

“Nope” Jake said popping the ‘p’

“Then who broke your heart?”

“No one, just a one-sided crush I would get over soon.”

“So there is someone who doesn’t like Jake Jackson. It’s unheard of.” Mark said laughing and teasing her.

“It’s… It’s not like that, we have only met once.”

“Want me to help find her for you.”

“No don’t. If we are meant to meet, we will.” Jake said. “By the way, why are we here?”

“Wait for it. It should be here any minute now.” Mark said smiling. The bell on the door chimed signaling that someone had entered looking back. They saw her.

“Hey.” Mark said alerting her of their location. She walked towards the left where the booth was. She sat on the side of Mark.
