Chapter 7

On getting home, Jake wondered where he had seen that face. He shakes his head sideways trying to remember, due to the make-up and dress it was really had to remember.

Mark got a call but refused to pick it.

“Why aren’t answering? The call had been coming in since yesterday.” Jake asked curiously.

“It’s nothing important.” He smiled “that you should worry yourself about.”

“Ok, if you say so.”

“I guess we should call it a night, unless you want to see me in bed tonight.” Jake made a scrunched up face.

“No, I’d rather stay at workers quarters”

“You make it sound like they aren’t treated well in a duplex each.”

“Alrighty Alright.”

Jake went to sleep, waking up 3 in the morning sweating profusely. He went to wash up himself since he only sleeps with boxers.

Sitting on his bed recollecting his dream, it revolved round the same brown haired who haunts his dreams. ‘Weird’ he thought.

‘I haven’t dreamt about her in awhile, why now? It’s because of-.”

“Ahh yes, I know where I know that girl from now. They are the same person but makeup changed her natural features a little.” He was so excited finally seeing her, fates works.

“I can’t wait for Monday.” He smiled finally getting rid of his lewd dreams.

Mark woke up with Alice his phone ringing, he stared down at her for awhile, ‘if only… things were different’ he got up to check his phone and rejected again.

“You have been waking up to that call few mornings now, why are you rejecting it?” Alice asked groggily.

“It’s just some … people that are disturbing me. No stress there, don’t worry your pretty brains about it. Do you want to? You know?”

“Nope, I have some chores to do, maybe later.” “Or you can call that Jessie girl.”

“You mean Miley? Are you jealous?”

“No! No... No. why would I be?” she huffed before slowing getting up and putting on her robes.

“Despite the others, you are still my one and only favorite. They are for business.”

“That’s what you always say. Why do you keep bringing them, forming a relation with them, and then suddenly they disappeared. Now I’m seeing a frequent one. What do you do with them anyway?” she asked gauging her reaction.

“That’s not a discussion for us; you are never to ask about it now or never! Leave.” He turned slowing to her as he yelled at her.

Alice didn’t say anything else and left the room, and went to attend to the day’s chores annoyed she couldn’t get anything from him.

Lea on getting home, I shared the good news with my friend and mum, they were so excited, they also had a small thanksgiving to thank God for his faithfulness.

Preparing for Monday, she went online; bought a few samples of their material, get a copy of each awards, and public comments on ‘My Choice’. By the time she had done all this, she was exhausted.

She stretched herself thanking God again for success before she retired for the night.

At the AIS the higher ups were already trying to close the case since they couldn’t come up with proof or any suitable evidence backing up who were responsible for the disparage.

The Chief asked “Have you heard anything from Jeanne?” one of the members answered. “Operation

BING!

BING! BING!

Her alarm rang.

It was a Sunday morning today and she woke up late, preparing herself in a hurry. She wore a wine pencil skirt and a white blouse tucked in, her hair in a messy bun with no makeup, her bag tightly on her arms as she rushed out of the house finding out her mum and Linda had already gone.

‘Why didn’t they wake me?’ She thought angrily. ‘They will have an answer for me, surely.’ Then she left, she arrived thirty minutes into the mass and sat an occupied row of seat to avoid being noticed, after a bit prayer, she sighted her mum and Linda in the congregation concentrating.

An hour into the service someone tapped her saying in hushed tone “Excuse me miss, can I share your hymn book?” he said.

“Here” she shared with him. “I haven’t seen you around. Are you new?” the guy continued.

Getting annoyed by his pestering, “I don’t sit around here. I came late today.” Getting a hinge of her irritation, he quieted down.
