Chapter 33- The conversation between father and son

A wave of relief spread within him, and his lips curled up slightly. The excitement was obvious in his expression.

“Are you telling the truth? Is he going to come out of the vegetative state?”

“Yes, Mr. Reid.” The doctor replied calmly. “He is a fighter. He was in a terrible state when he was brought to the hospital. I was not sure if we could save him or not. But he is stronger than I thought. He fought against death. And now he is getting better. It’s not less than a miracle.” He cracked a smile.

“No, Dr. Roy. I don’t believe in miracles. It’s you and your team’s efforts that my son’s condition is improving. I am indebted to you.”

Tears welled up inside Owen Reid’s eyes. He already lost his wife because of his mistake, and now he couldn’t lose his only son. Luckily he had assigned his men to look after Charles secretly. If his men had not rescued Charles in time, he would have burned to death.
