Abigail was pinned on the wall by a strong man, and she felt a sharp pain in her arms. “Let go of me. You are hurting me.” Tears started accumulating in her eyes, but she still stubbornly looked at the man’s eyes in a challenging way.
The man leaned over her. Their faces were inches away, and his hot breathing was fanning on her cheeks. There were many emotions in his deep green eyes which Abigail couldn’t decipher. After a span of silence, Charles opened his mouth and said, “You are not going anywhere. You are now mine; mine to love, and mine to torture.”

Abigail was yet to recover from the shock after seeing Xander in the hospital when he gave her another wave of shock. 


“I have arranged the best heart surgeon of country C. He is coming here tomorrow. Don’t worry, okay? Your father is going to be alright.” 


Abigail exclaimed in utter astonishment. Although she was angry with him earlier, the resentment towards him began to fade gradually after hearing him. His mellow voice and gentle touch soothing the pain in her heart. Her eyes were not as sharp as earlier. Those were now clouded by incredulity. She couldn’t believe that he arranged a doctor for her father. It would be a lie to say that she was not touched. Tears rolled down from her eyes drop by drop. She asked in a trance, “Why are you doing this?” 


Her tone was not harsh as before. She sounded more helpless. The sadness of her tone didn’t go unnoticed by him.
