Max was trying his best to make his friend and general relax. He had never seen Regan so anxious before.

"You don't understand. She had her doubts and so she set me up and I foolishly walked into her trap! There is nothing I can do to convince her that what she think she saw isn't real at all. I am so doomed!"

His behavior was making Max worried. He knew from the first day he saw Iris that she was good for his friend. Never in his dreams had he expected his friend to grow so attached quickly. But for some weeks now, all he could see was his friend daydreaming about his wife and planning on how to get her to be his forever.
