iii. PARIS: The Wedding

The crowd gasped as the beautiful princess walked down the aisle, awe and admiration were in everyone's eyes. But not Maru, Maru's eyes were fixed on the groom alone.

She felt her heart break into a million pieces when he smiled at his bride, and when he swooped her in his arms she felt like her whole world crashed.

She wanted, needed to call on to him, to say there is nothing more important than to stop the damned wedding. That it is a mistake to marry the girl in his arms... because it was she... it was she who loves him most.

But clothed in that gown of gold, and with the weight of the crown pressing on her hazel-brown hair, she couldn't do anything but stay on her seat.

She tried not to focus on anything else but on her duty to her country. The duty to prevent a war. But it was for naught, her whole attention was on him.
