Chapter 10 That Night 1

Luna stood there stranded and helpless not knowing what to do. She decided to wait there outside for the heavy rain to at least reduce. "Come inside, you're going to catch a cold, " he said and she was startled by his presence. "N-no I'm fine. I'll wait here." She was embarrassed to even look at him. "It's not going to stop raining now Luna. Just sit there at the couch. I promise to drop you off when it stops." "You're lying. You're going to take advantage of me." He chuckled at her accusation. "I will behave. At least I will try to. But come inside." When she didn't budge he said," It's okay if you don't want, I won't go inside either.

But you should know that I'm allergic to cold temperature so anytime now my condition is going to worsen. And if my allergies really act up that means something like two weeks without working and that means loss of billions of money. Since you're willing to be held responsible it's okay with me." With that he sat down at the balcony. Luna started feeling guilty but she decided not to fall for it. After ten minutes of silence, she turned to look at him and realized that he had become pale and his lips had lost colour and she immediately panicked.

"Let's go inside please," she pleaded. "I want to stay here for a while longer." "Please Mr Cullen it's not good for your health let's go inside," she pleaded seeing his condition worsening. "Why the formalities now? Maybe the kiss we shared was not enough to cross all boundaries. Perhaps I should do more," he teased her and she blushed, "Let's first enter." "So you mean I can do more once we are inside?"he asked. "Ye-I mean no. Let's go in please." He stopped teasing her and decided to go inside with her. She sat at the couch. Graham brought her a cotton rug and wrapped it around her. She was moved by this little gesture since she was never cared for especially by the opposite sex.

As he was wrapping it securely, his face was so close and she remembered the way he kissed her and her face became red once again. Graham understood what was going on in that brain of hers and he inwardly grinned. He left and after five minutes he came back with a cup of hot chocolate and squatted in front of her. He got her fingers then securely wrapped them around the hot cup doing it alternately which warmed her hands that were earlier freezing. All this time Luna was staring at him wondering why he was doing these things. 'Does he treat every woman this way?' she wondered.

"Drink this, it will help keep you warm," he told her looking concerned. "Thank you," she whispered without breaking her gaze away. Graham looked in her eyes and noticed that she was surprised and uncertain.

"What would you like to eat?" he asked her. "l'm totally fine. This chocolate will be enough." He looked at her with displeasure and said," I insist. What are you having for dinner? Or else I won't be having dinner either and remember I have to take medicine for my allergies when I've eaten something." Luna was speechless once again. Was he seriously threatening her with his health. She heaved a sigh and said," Okay. I will have whatever you're having." "Good. I will quickly make something for us," he went to the kitchen. Luna wondered if he really knows how to cook or was just going to reheat what was prepared by maids already. She checked her watch and saw that it was a half past ten. On checking outside the Villa through the glass wall, she was shocked to see that the rain had just increased.

She sat back on the couch and after a while she started feeling frightened by the thunderstorm and then realized how this living room was so big. She decided to run to the kitchen and at least have some company.

She found Graham seriously cooking and he seemed to know what he was doing. "Miss me already?" he teased her. Luna found him more attractive when in the kitchen with the apron. It was a sight to behold but she had to remind herself that she was just like any other woman he brings here and she was just too ordinary for a man like Graham Cullen to settle with her.

"I was just scared of being alone." "Oh, then whom do you stay with? Your parents?" he asked. Luna was stunned when he asked her such a personal question. She didn't expect that he would ever be interested in her personal life and it somehow made her happy.

"No I live with a friend. We share an apartment," she replied enthusiastically. As he was going to ask something else his phone vibrated in his pockets and on checking who it was, he picked it up," Vikram." They had a conversation. "Okay sleep tight." He turned to Luna and said," You're spending the night here."

Her eyes widened in surprise and he explained," The storm has worsened and some areas have recorded accidents. The roads are slippery. You will leave tomorrow morning." Luna didn't want to stay here any longer because she not only didn't trust Graham but also herself. If at all he made any advances, she wasn't sure if she could be able to stop him. But did she have any option, no.

Graham laid the dishes on the table and surprisingly they were mouth watering by looking at them and the aroma. She wondered if they tasted as good as they looked. She couldn't help but feel lucky and special to have gotten an opportunity of tasting Graham's hand made dishes.
