Chapter 24 Sorry I didn't see you

The next day Luna woke up feeling all sore. Every part of her body was aching. It seemed like she had gotten a cold and fever. How couldn't she when she spent almost three hours in the rain and in the cold? She checked the time and it was noon. She talked to Bella who had left her several messages yesterday and assured her that she's fine. She remembered yesterday's events and cried again. She took a shower and left for a hospital first thing to get a check up especially the baby's health.

She reached the hospital and was told that the doctor was running some errands but is coming back. She sat in the waiting area and as usual she spaced out. She heard a voice which startled her ,"Good afternoon." She cleared her throat and replied,"Good afternoon to you."

Doctor Elijah's shift had gotten done and was leaving when he saw a girl sitting in the waiting area probably waiting for a gynecologist. But she seemed so lost in thoughts. She looked to be sleep and food deprived. He decided to talk to her but called her for three times and she didn't seem to hear him. On the forth time, he got her attention and greeted her. "I'm doctor Elijah. Is anything the matter?" "No. I'm just waiting for the doctor to check up on me. Thanks for asking," replied Luna. "Okay. I didn't get your name though." "I'm Luna." Then the doctor came back and Luna excused herself before going inside for her check up.

When she left the hospital, Elijah asked his colleague and was surprised to know that she was pregnant because she looked young. He thought it must be the reason why she was spacing out and he somehow felt pity for her. He decided to shrug it off and left for his home to get ready and head to the airport because he was going somewhere.

On her way out of the hospital, Luna remembered what the doctor told her," You have fever and flu. Otherwise the baby is fine but you should take extra care of yourself. The first trimester is a very delicate stage. Eat lots of healthy foods."

She was glad that the baby was fine. She was given medicines to be taking. She then went to the bank and stood outside for a moment contemplating on something. After sometime she touched her belly and mumbled," For you." She entered and did all the necessary formalities before transferring the money onto her account. It was indeed very much and she was sure that it would help her big time. After, she left for the airport to return to Sun City.

She boarded and went for her seat then put her seat belt when she heard a familiar voice. "We meet again Miss Luna." Turning to her right she saw the same doctor she met in the hospital but had forgotten his name.

Elijah had boarded already and was busy with some work on his laptop when he raised his head and saw the same girl he saw at the hospital coming in and she sat on his left. She clearly didn't see him. He decided to talk to her,"We meet again Miss Luna." She turned and she saw him then gave an apologetic smile," I'm sorry I didn't see you." "I noticed it. You seem to be lost in thought right from the hospital. What's the matter?" "Nothing. I'm just tired," she saidd. "So you're also visiting Sun City?" he asked. "No it's where I stay. I just came to meet someone," said Luna. "Oh I get." Elijah assumed that she had come to meet the owner of the pregnancy but maybe he rejected it and that's why she's in this state. He decided to let her rest. She leaned her head on the seat and she took a nap. Elijah would take glances at her and on closer look he realized she was a beautiful girl. He couldn't help but mock the man who lied and used such a young beautiful girl. He decided to continue with his work.

After sometime, Luna woke up and she looked at the plane ceiling, then turned her head to her right and saw that the doctor was still on his laptop and she wondered if he wasn't tired. She looked at the time and realized that they were soon landing and she released a sigh of relief. She was fed up of the plane because she was beginning to feel nauseous.

They finally landed and after, Luna moved to get a cab when Elijah called her. "It was nice meeting you Miss Luna and here is my contact. Don't hesitate to call me in case you need help for anything. I will be glad to help." He handed her his business card. She hesitated for a while but after took it and said," Nice to meet you too. Have a nice time." With that, Luna got a cab and left for home.
