Chapter 116 Out of my own dreams

After a week, Bella and Ethan had gone to the mall to shop for the things they were going to gift Ethan's parents since they were going next weekend. At first, he had told her that it was unnecessary but she insisted saying that she couldn't meet his parents for the first time without gifting them anything and he could only let her. After buying several things for his Mother and herself, she turned to him and asked," What do you think I should get for your Dad?" After thinking for a moment, he said," We could buy him a necktie. It will be enough." "Only that?" she asked. "Yes, it will be enough," he assured. They went to the men's section and she started looking at the different neckties taking her time to choose the best. "Bella!!" a certain familiar voice startled her and on looking, she was shocked to see the person here. It was Drake her ex boyfriend. What was he doing here?

Ethan glanced at the man who called Bella and a deep frown settled on his face.

Drake hurriedly came towards her and hugged her surprising Bella because she didn't expect it. Ethan was quick to pull him away from her and with a cold voice said," Don't touch my woman." Drake glanced at the man and from his appearance, he could tell that he was rich. He hate to admit that he wasn't half his competitor. He therefore decided to put his attention to Bella instead. "Bella, thank God I found you. I looked for you everywhere. We seriously need to talk," he ranted and on hearing this, Ethan came towards her and held her possessively before saying," You have nothing to talk about." All this time Bella was dumbfounded. She couldn't believe the nerve of this man. She found him with another woman, staying together and here he was, pretending as if they got separated due to distance or something. He tried to hold her hand when she said," Don't touch me. Shameless womaniser."

"Listen Bella, you perceived it wrongly. You didn't give me the chance to explain myself. It was just one time and that's when you came," he said and Ethan had enough of his ranting.

He stepped closer to him with the coldest look in his eyes ever and said," You better stay away from her if you don't want me to make your life a living hell. I don't want you anywhere near my woman. Mark my words."

With that, he held her wrist and they left the Mall.

When they were in the car, he asked," Are you okay?" and she nodded. "Did seeing him affect you?" he asked again and she replied," Of course not." But Ethan wasn't convinced because she was silent. Did she perhaps miss him? Would she go back to him if she gives him time and they talk. He decided to calm down because this is exactly what led him to make a mistake in the past. Jealousy.

He asked again," Then why are you silent?"

This time she looked at him and said," I can never think of going back to him. I was silent because I was honestly wondering what attracted me to Drake in the first place. I was so blind." He was relieved on hearing that from her.

"Everyone thinks like that when they find the right one. It is totally normal," he said. "Really?" "Yes, like me here. Honestly when I look at you, I get surprised because there was a time when my whole world revolved around Alicia but you two are totally incomparable. It's as if you walked out of my own dreams," he said and Bella's heart warmed up upon hearing his words. Bella believed that she must have done something really great in her past life for God to give her a man like Ethan Carter. So handsome and rich, all caring and sweet.

'If I had been patient, I wouldn't have harmed Graham Cullen in the first place because it was unnecessary, Ethan on the other end was thinking.

In the night, Bella was on the laptop working on something when she felt his hot breath fanning her neck and he asked," What are you doing?" "I'm trying to balance these things," she answered and continued studying the figures. He didn't like the fact that she was working this night. He carefully studied them and within five minutes, he balanced everything and she was thrilled. "You're a genius," she praised him. "Of course I am," he replied. "But of course, this is nothing compared to what you handle at Carter Corporations," she said. "So, how are you going to reward this hardworking man?" he asked. "What do you want?" she asked clearly knowing what reward he wanted.

"Why don't you come to bed and I tell you?" he asked and she smiled before saying," Alright, go ahead. I will join you shortly." He placed a lingering kiss on her nape before going to bed to wait for her. After closing everything, Bella went to bed to join her man.
