In half an hour, Ciara stood at the restaurant entrance with her eyes scanning the entire place until she saw Abigail but the moment she saw the other person, a small frown settled on her face. Why was she here? She contemplated on going back but decided against it and walked towards their table.
The moment Luna and Abigail saw her baby bump they couldn't believe how fast time passes. She slowly sat down and said," I didn't know we had company." "That was fast. Luna is the one that suggested I call you."
Ciara was surprised at this and she glanced at Luna before averting her gaze away. Noticing the silence, Abigail called the waiter and they placed their orders. "So when is your due date?" Luna asked her. Taking some time to reply, she said," In two months and some weeks." "Oh! I thought it was nearer than that considering how big your belly is," said Abigail.
"You mean to say I'm fat?" she asked looking worried. "Yes of course you are fat. What did you expect when you are pregnant?" asked Abigail. Ciara felt herself lose all her self confidence. She had been asking Vikram and all he could say was that she hadn't changed a bit apart from the growing belly. After sometime, Luna said," The thing is all of us women tend to gain weight when we are expecting. It's totally normal."
Ciara turned to her and asked," You mean you experienced it too?" She nodded before saying," Pretty much. I experienced it too but after giving birth, I went back to normal." Considering how thin Luna was, one couldn't tell that she had a child unless she said it herself. So this gave Ciara hope and relief knowing that it was just a matter of time. She nodded assuring herself that everything will be okay.
After lunch, Abigail suggested that they go to the Mall because she wanted to get some things. When they reached, each started picking a few things until they reached the baby stuff section and Abigail asked," Ciara, did you already buy things for the baby?" She shook her head before saying," No, Vikram will do that." "Alone?" she asked again and Ciara nodded. "Why?" "Because he insisted that he wants to do it yet I don't want to come with him. We might be seen together by some people and they take pictures. People will suspect him to be the father," she said. "And, isn't he?" asked Abigail. "He is but I don't want it to go public. At least not yet." Abigail looked at her before asking," Are you ashamed of your husband? The father of your child?" "It's not about that. I'm a public figure and you know how we are criticized. I'm not ready for that," she said and Abigail walked forward continuing with her shopping. Luna who was listening to them couldn't help but feel sorry for Vikram. Graham had always told her how much Vikram loved her, right from school. She wished they were friends so that she could make her see how much he adored her. But since they weren't friends, she didn't want to concern herself in other people's matters.
After leaving the Mall, they stood in the parking lot and Abigail looked at Ciara then said," Why don't we go home and visit mother? She's been asking about you a lot."
Ciara honestly didn't want to see Rebecca Cullen, at least not when she was pregnant. It somehow made her feel like a loser. Before she could say anything, Abigail added," Or you're also ashamed of her seeing you pregnant?" She exactly knew what she was thinking. "Of course not. Let's go." Before Luna could bid them farewell, Abigail turned to her and said," Hope you're coming with us too." "I don't think it's a good idea. You very well know that your mother isn't fond of me,"she said. "Come on Luna, it won't be a problem at all. Okay, you come for Dad's sake. He's been saying that he has taken long without seeing you."
When the three sat in the car with Abigail who was driving to the Cullen mansion, she decided to talk," Ciara, I know that I'm not supposed to be telling you what to do but sometimes it is healthy to advise a person if you realize that they are making a mistake. Ciara, you know that not many people can tolerate your character, but Vikram has been patient with you. It's so hard to find someone who truly adores you and if you find them, you should keep them. It's a pity that you're ashamed of being seen with someone who could do anything for you." Luna couldn't agree less with Abigail's words. Glancing outside the window, Ciara didn't reply anything but she had clearly heard whatever she had said.
