Between The Flames and Wind [3]

I sat up on my bed then looked around. I was at Myrrh's house. I held my head and exhaled as my head was pounding. I got out of bed and walked around to find Myrrh. I looked in every room, but she wasn't in the house. I went to turn on the TV and my eyes widened. The tournament was going downhill because of a battle between a woman that looked like my mother and my friends.

"It was only a matter of time before you woke up, and realize the destruction you've brought upon this world." A voice said to me.

I turned around then noticed a man behind me. I noticed he looked like me. "It isn't...my fault! I never wanted this!"

"You are the enemy. You and her are one and the same. It was only a matter of time before your true nature showed." The man smirked and his eyes shined orange.

I held my head as my headache only got worse. I grunted and fell on one knee.

"It's time for you to awaken and do what your father intended. He made a weapon that was strong enough to kill your mother as he knew she'd awaken through you. Before you inevitably killed him, he sealed that weapon within you." The man said then held his hand out to me then a flame sword began to form in front of me. "You could've stopped her a long time ago, but your hesitation is the only thing making her stronger."

I looked up then noticed the odachi. I stood up and grabbed the handle then my left eye shined orange. I looked at the man, noticing his body turning into magic particles. "Who are you..?"

"I am the true you. You were always born with power, but your mother has corrupted your true power which is Bio-Fire Manipulation. Now go...Stop your mother. Save your friends and continue your game!" The other me said before fully disappearing.

I took the blade of my odachi from the floor then looked at it. I ran out the house and my body turned into crimson red flames then I used those flames to fly to the arena.

Faylen fell on one knee and coughed blood. "She's so strong...This woman is way too much for me."

Ikeshia stood in front of Faylen and looked back then back at the Azure Empress. "Tch...I can't believe this. How do we beat her? Not even Shiro could keep her down.."

"It's safe to say...that we lost this fight. We can't beat her which means we can't awaken Leon.." Feno said.

"No!" Faylen yelled. "I refuse to accept this! I will save Leon!"

"Faylen, please save your energy." Myrrh said as she healed her.

The Azure Empress laughed and looked at them. "It is a shame. I expected so much more from you all. I guess I should put you all out of your misery. Say goodbye mortals!" She laughed then fired a large blue fireball at them.

The fireball exploded then she looked a bit surprised when the smoke cleared. I stood in front of my friends. My hair was in flames and my left eye was orange while my right eye was still blue.

"You...How are you awake?!" My mother asked.

"The true me awakened me. The me that actually has control of his power. The true me who's accepted the fact that I am the enemy." I said.

"The enemy..?" Ikeshia looked at me.

"This wouldn't have happened if I had just killed you earlier when my father told me about that necklace. That necklace was the only thing I had to know you by so I couldn't destroy it. Now I will set things right! I will avenge my father...and everyone you made me kill!" I yelled and my flames surged powerfully.

"His flames aren't blue...It's crimson." Myrrh said.

Shiro looked at me then looked at my mother. "Leon."

"Don't worry...I'll make sure she doesn't return!" I said then dashed to my mother.

"That weapon! No...I won't let you kill me with that weapon!" My mother fired a large fireball at me then flew away.

I propelled myself into the air using my flames, following her. I grabbed her ankle then flew down at high speeds then slammed her to the ground. She groaned then I bellowed and picked her up then spun her around, throwing her afterwards. She yelled and hit the ground. I dashed after her then jumped up and slashed.

"He can't do this alone...I can't allow him..to do so.." Faylen said then got up and ran out of the arena.

"Faylen!" Ikeshia yelled then Shiro touched her shoulder. She looked at Shiro.

"Let her do this..I have full faith in them." Shiro said.

My mother blocked my attack then grabbed my arm then punched my face. I glared as I took the hit then headbutted her. She groaned and let me go then stumbled backwards. I bellowed then punched her stomach and powerful winds blew. She coughed blood and was blown away.

"Leon!" Kyu-Pit said then landed beside me.

"Kyu-Pit. What are you doing here? You've got to get out of here." I said.

"And let my partner sacrifice himself..AGAIN? Yeah not happening buddy." Kyu-Pit smiled then summoned her bow. She looked serious. "Let's show this woman some tough love."

"That was corny, but a really good line." I said and smirked then looked at my mother.

"Thanks, been waiting a few chapters to say that." Kyu-Pit said as she broke the fourth wall.

I dashed to my mother and slashed, but she blocked my attack with her katana. Kyu-Pit appeared above her then fired multiple arrows at her. My mother dodged and sent flame arrows at Kyu-Pit. She dodged the arrows then yelled as she kicked down at my mother. My mother blocked the attack then grabbed her leg and threw her at me. My flames generated fire hands that caught Kyu-Pit. I set her down then dashed to my mother. We clashed multiple times before she parried my next attack then palmed my chest. I grunted then kicked me away. I groaned as I flew backwards. She appeared behind me and grabbed the back of my head.

"You disgust me." She said then blasted me away with her flames.

I groaned and rolled forward then rebounded off the ground. I landed on my feet then exhaled as smoke came from my mouth. I looked back then my right eye shined orange as well. "Alright...Time to turn up the intensity of this battle!" I bellowed and my flames grew more powerful. My hair tie snapped and my hair was let loose.

I dashed to my mother and held my sword with both hands. Flames began to surge around my body and I bellowed as I slashed. A line of flames form on the ground then an explosion happened. I took recoil damage then grunted. My mother was hit with the explosion and groaned then slid back.

"So many people dead because of you! My father died because of you! I could've let all those people live! You used me only for your selfish desire. That all ends here! Die!" I appeared above her and thrusted my sword at her.

She smirked then her aura surged powerfully, pushing me away. I grunted as I was blown away. Kyu-Pit caught me then slid back.

"Leon!" Faylen called out then ran to me. She stopped me beside me then looked at my mother. "You were able to scratch her?"

"With my sword yeah. It's the only thing that can kill her. Make me an opening while I prepare my ultimate attack." I said.

"Right!" Faylen nodded then dashed to my mother.

She shot multiple arrows at her and released powerful blasts of wind at her also. My mother dodged them and punched Faylen's stomach. Faylen groaned, but stood her ground. She punched my mother's face then jumped and kicked her with both feet then shot five arrows in the air. The arrows split into thousands of arrows and showered down on my mother.

I got in a stance then my flames surrounded the sword. I glared at my mother then quickly spotted her weak point. "Faylen!"

She got up and bellowed as she awakened and her aura surged then her aura sparkled. "Tempest Overdrive!" She released a powerful beam of wind at my mother.

My mother tried to guard the hit but couldn't as the winds were too powerful to block. She groaned and stumbled back then panted.

I dashed to my mother and my entire body wash surrounded by flames. My eyes shined brightly and I yelled. "This is for all those people! This is for everyone you killed! This is for my father! Blazing Soul Destruction!" I yelled and thrusted my sword through her chest and she yelled loudly in pain. Her body shined brightly and she groaned then her soul exploded then her body fell limp and her flames vanished completely. I took my sword out of her and watched her body fall.

I smiled then fell to my knees and my flames slowly vanished then looked at the body of my mother. My sword slowly vanished then my eyes began to water.

My hair covered my eyes and I gripped my shirt. "Father...it is done. Mom is dead.." I said then my tears fell to the ground.

Faylen walked to me and crouched down then hugged me from behind. She felt my sorrow and wanted to comfort me the best she could.

"Both my parents...dead by my own hands." I said sadly.

"I couldn't possibly fathom what you're feeling on the inside..but I promise you I'm always here for you, Leon." Faylen said then made her way in front of me. She raised my head and I looked at her. She held my cheeks then wiped my tears with her thumb.

"Faylen...I'm sorry.." I said.

"It's okay." She smiled then gave me a peck on my lips.

"No matter what...I will always be with you. I will never let you go." Faylen smiled.

I looked at her then noticed her smile was brighter than ever.

Shiro and Ikeshia watched from a distance.

"Papa..Leon looks different. Why is that?" Lusette asked.

"Because...he is redeeming himself. He wants to change himself to better himself for his own benefit and others around him." Shiro smiled.

"Ooooh! Is he a good guy now?" She asked.

"He is." Shiro looked at Lusette.

"Yay!" Lusette smiled happily and Shiro chuckled.
