Vanylla left the room 10 minutes after Mars left. He no longer wore his mask and had to lean against the wall as soon as he closed the door. Vanylla kept her right hand on her chest as if she held her heart, thumping hard and beating fast. He continued to control his heavy breathing. Mars already made her lose her breath away. Lately, Mars often makes her heart and breathing increasingly erratic.
"Uh my heart!" Vanylla complained, still leaning back. Mars often suffocates her for no reason. From a distance, Katy was seen busy looking for Vanylla, and when she found Vanylla, she ran to hug her.
"What happened Vanylla, are you okay?" Katy asked, immediately holding her hand. Vanylla just kept quiet and nodded with a faint smile.
"Are you sick, you look so pale?"
"I'm fine, Kat," Vanylla replied, still smiling at the worried Katy. Katy then looked around.
"Where have you been, I've been looking for you, you were not on the dance floor or anywhere!" continued Katy, not letting go of her grip on Vanylla. Vanylla continued to smile at Katy and shook her head.
"I was just looking for a restroom, but I got lost, sorry." Katy nodded with a smile.
"Come on, let's go before Jared notices that you disappeared just now." Katy then pulled Vanylla from the corridor and returned to the party in the main hall.
Vanylla and Katy started to return to the middle of the party after Vanylla put the mask back.
Vanylla started musing for the rest of the party. She even ignored her father and her brother's discussion when they were mingled. At the same time, Mars did not seem to pay attention to her anymore. He seemed to enjoy the rest of the party by laughing and talking as if nothing happened before.
While in one corner, Mars walked together with the other guests in the middle of the party taking place a few minutes ago with Vanylla in another room. Mars several times cursed in his heart for always letting go. He had to be able to control himself if he was close to Vanylla.
Vanylla had been bothering Mars all this time, and the girl was starting to drive him crazy. Especially after a night at the Callesthene Star hotel, he couldn't forget Vanylla at all. Before returning to the party room, Mars put on his usual evil and sinister smile until one of the members of the businessmen association approached and shook his hand.
"Congratulations, Mr. King. I heard you are the strongest candidate for the best businessman award of the year!" praised one of the associate members on Mars. Mars just smirked and shook his hand.
"Thank you, I just heard the news this morning," Mars replied casually.
"I will definitely vote for you, I think you deserve the award, congratulations!" Mars snorted and nodded.
"Thank you again, I really appreciate your choice!" Mars is good at playing the best he can with people who are fawning over him. The meaning of respect is that Mars will send a gift tomorrow to the members of the association.
There is no genuine relationship in business, and until it was one, it's all about money and power. Corruption and bribery are sweeteners of agreements and interests. Mars is used to it. Please don't ask what Mars' achievements are, he has a lot of awards that he deserves, but sometimes he has to pay the price.
While talking to these people, Mars glanced at Vanylla Wright's Angel out of the corner of his eye. Vanylla is seen hanging out with her family. Mars tried to ignore it and continued to pay attention to the discussion going on in front of him. He had not been focused since Vanylla entered the room. He completely distracts Mars entirely.
Soon some businessmen came and congratulated Mars. Even though the awards ceremony would take place in a few days, the clear winner was only Mars.
From where he was standing, Mars knew that Vanylla had stolen glances at him while talking to some men. Mars wanted to turn to look at him too, but Jared's eyes were like eagles. Jared kept glaring at Mars, who couldn't freely see Vanylla.
'That rat, why should he be the Big Brother?' Mars cursed in his heart.
It was as if Mars would take Vanylla away and run. Run from all the fake people that surround them right now. Now maybe Vanylla is saying that she hates Mars, but she doesn't care. Mars was sure that Vanylla would love him later. Mars always prided himself, and he always believed he could do anything and could get anyone.
Before long, the Wrights were the first to leave the party. Rose, who Mars assigned to keep Jared away from her, returned with a triumphant smile and wrapped her arms around Mars' arms.
"They just left," Rose muttered, smiling at Mars. Mars glanced briefly and saw Vanylla being led by Jared, his brother, to the front lobby towards the valet parking. Mars then nodded understandingly at Rose.
"Thanks for taking care of that Wright for me earlier," Mars said to his cousin Rose who continued to give him his usual seductive smile.
"I enjoyed it, I should be the one thanking you." Rose drank her champagne and smiled again at Mars. But Mars looked at her instead, frowning.
"He's my enemy Rose, you should be careful," replied Mars, warning Rose. Rose instead looked back at Mars with eyes as if pleading. False pleading eyes, to be more precise.
"So I can't sleep with him, how sad!" said Rose pretending to be sad. He even made a sad face that Mars thought was even weird.
"You're acting hilarious!" His burst made Rose suddenly hit Mars' arm. He chuckled a little and shook his head.
"Your enemy is handsome, Mars. He's a hot guy!" said Rose, and it sounded honest. Mars just snorted sarcastically and looked away in another direction.
"Just grab another guy, Rose. You're easy on him!" Rose instead asked with her eyes who Mars meant.
"Maybe back to Caleb, for instance ..." Mars added, and Rose immediately made an expression of pretending to vomit.
"Uugghh, I've never dated my ex-boyfriend, after all we're done."
"No more love for Caleb?"
"Nope!" the answer is short and curt. Mars laughed again.
"How about you, what's the story, what's her name?" Rose asked back to make Mars silent. He tries to interrogate Mars.
"Didn't Caleb tell you?"
"I just wanted to warn you, Cousin. If Uncle Geo finds out what you're doing, he'll be furious!" point Rose at Mars' chest. Mars glared back at Rose.
"Are you threatening me?"
"Oh of course not my handsome cousin, you know I've always been loyal to you." Rose began to cling to Mars again.
"Nope, you are only loyal while in bed but after you are more than dangerous, don't you think I didn't know you!"
"Ahhh ... I will never betray you, Mars, I promise," Rose whined again while kissing Mars on the cheek, trying to persuade him. Mars knew what Rose wanted. She was attracted to the rat, Jared Wright.
