After throwing both metal, wood and bones into the forge, seemingly at random, the human crowd seemed to be growing slightly angered at the discourtesy she showed. Noticing this change, the young man who had been carving a handle had smashed his hammer onto the table 'by accident.'
'Yea yea, I'm doing just fine tho so far aren't I? how else can I hide the material.'
Suddenly, she stopped throwing materials in and turned to the table, only to start carving a piece of bone with the claw on her glove. Which once again, caused people to become angry at the sight of her completely wasting the material, only to decide to make a bone weapon!
Yet there were a few humans who did not grow angry, and instead were astounded by how smoothly her claw could shave and carve the bone.
'It slides like butter while cutting such smooth pieces off?'
Fixing himself in his chair, Lord Eric suddenly seemed enthusiastic towards the little girl he had first been considered executing.
After a few minutes of carving, she began to grow very obviously bored.
'Hm? Ah, do I not look cute just by existing? You must've really failed in transforming me~'
'Hehe, sorry miss Mona, I'm just kidding of course~ besides, this ins the fun part!'
Standing up and turning towards the forge, she stepped closer and closer to it, to the point where normally it would begin to singe your hair. Once again gaining curiosity from the crowd as she raised her hands towards the flames, practically touching the fire with her palms. Before suddenly...
*Paf*
"EH?!"
*BANG BANG BANG*
As the crowd gasped in awe and confusion, the young man frantically smashed his hammer on the table to try and gain her attention, yet it was too late. She had already entered the zone.
Inside the flame, she dragged her clawed through the now malleable metal sludge she had thrown into the fire before. With eyes that seemed to never blink, she peered deep into the flames as she rose her claw, dragging a string of metal along with it.
'Ah~~ Dontcha just love metal~? It's so burn proof!! It's my first time turning it into thread and yet it just wont burn~ Ahh~! Not a single bit of rust in sight!'
As she began to weave her hands carefully yet crazily inside the fire, it started to slowly shift colours. the normal red flame slowly darkened and grew in size, while also becoming calmer as time went on.
'Alright! Time to forge! First let's go over the base rules or points of importance I have learnt from my time testing my thread in the barn.{
1. It burns easily the more I move it, and if it starts to burn, I have to quickly cut it off from the source of material, or else it'll eat that up too.
2. Carving base shapes out of the material, then sewing them together makes for a much, much stronger final product, which can also be infused with a material.
3. Simply trying to cut out a giant final product right off the bat, especially if it has a weird, or specific shape, will only cause it to burn up and break.}
Ok! Time to carve some basic elementary!'
Cutting the sludge into small triangles, and squares, she would form them and quickly place them onto a separate part of the forge's inside. Slowly melding them together by using the bones she had also thrown into the forge while igniting whatever is left of it with her flames, once again changing the shade of the forge's fire, yet shrinking its size as it eats up whatever black embers managed to form within the mighty flame.
"Hm... Somethings not right about that little one."
"Sorry Lord Eri-"
"Shut up savage, you must not have to try and entertain me so much by bringing me booze and agreeing with whatever I say."
"R- right, Sorry Lord Eric."
Looking over towards Camellia for the first time since the competition had started, Zeph notices the flame's colour and only nods in approval as he himself starts to go into overdrive. Throwing wood piece after wood piece into the flames, feeding it much like Camellia had the last time they had worked together, grabbing some of the attention away from her, and towards him instead.
Shaping the hilt is one of the most important steps! Usually you would do this last, however, Camellia had seemingly started with this step, moving upwards towards the tip of the sword, incorporating flame infused thread as she went, layering square on triangle, and triangle on square, slowly but surely, as it grew in length, the crowd could begin to see small bits of it poke out now and again as she worked.
'NOW!'
Sticking her left hand out towards a bucket that sat next to the table, water began to slowly drip from her palm, when suddenly.
'Summon water!'
A small drop of water, the size of an egg began floating just a few centimetres away from her palm as it started to drizzle a light stream of clear liquid directly into the bucket, slowly filling it up as the whole crowd became silent again. The humans standing aghast, completely silent as they dropped their drinks and locked their eyes on the girl's insane demonstration.
"MAGIC?!"
Lord Eric quickly stood up from his chair just as the rest did, watching something even more rare than a miracle! An elf used magic. The race known for simply being brutish with absolutely no talent in the area, the race with no affinity for magic whatsoever! Yet here stood one before them, one who's hand had been in a raging furnace for over an hour now! Yet is still managing to summon water with the other!
"Savage! Explain!"
"My lord, as I said earlier, she had complications during her birth, and has generally shown weird tendencies since then. We assume her to have been a half breed of some kind-"
"Well then, where is her mother?! Let me speak with that savage at once!"
Standing up from his chair with haste, he threw his cup of wine to the floor, raising his arm with anger towards Maki, who simply acted as though she was scared from his fit of rage.
"My lord, her parent's have been nowhere to be seen since just after her birth. She refused to give us information, then took her own life"
[My my! She's amazing at bullshitting!]
"Useless!"
Looking back to the arena in frustration and hatred, he glared at the girl with nothing but hatred in his eyes. Not only had a gem of a blacksmith been born in the village of Savages, but one who was a half breed!
'Some disgusting pervert actually dared to have a child with one of those things?!'
Though that's obviously not the case, he bit the line they cast and now just has to be reeled in, which Camellia seemed to have been accidentally doing while zoned into her work.
'That's enough water.'
Pulling her hand back from the barrel, she stopped summoning water, and put her attention back towards the finishing touches of her sewing. It was quite difficult to sew like this normally, however, with the smaller forge entrance keeping her elbows slightly close to each other was unknowingly helping her from doing too much movement! This kept the work from igniting and leaving not even ash behind!
'Almost! now I just need the handle I carved'
Reaching to her left without looking, she had to keep her left hand as still as possible in order to keep it's quality from dropping.
*tack*
"Gah!"
Accidentally knocking the handle onto the floor, the flames from within the forge roared for just a mere second before she had stuck her second hand back in to manage the outburst.
'Dammit, now I had to cut a whole chunk off of it!'
Looking down to the floor, she could see the unfinished handle cracked on the floor with small bits and pieces shattered off from the frame. Though she had carved it, it was not yet finished. Carving causes for a weaker base product, yet is faster and lets you have more intricate designs! Therefore, her idea was to use a carved bone handle as a base, then sew wood and metal into the actual design itself, causing for a fast, yet strong intricately designed handle... But now...
'Dammit! It's ruined! What the hell am I supposed to do now?!'
'What? you gonna help me or something then? Give me a third arm? Oh wait~ you took that when you isekai'd me!'
'Yea well, yknow what else is rude? the fact that even if I could reach it, it's broken! my glove is infused with flames, so it's resistant, but it can't stay in here foreve-'
Reaching her arm to the table of materials, she pulls it closer to her... by tipping it over onto the floor...
"Who even needs a handle when you've got hands?!"
