THE DISTRACTION

"I don't know what to do to get me back to you, I've got nothing else to lose...is it working." Kathryn placed her face close to mine to check if am feeling okay, she as been reading different peoms from the internet to see if it will make me feel okay, but felt worse, i felt like the whole world is mocking me. "Is not like you two are lover, common stop acting like a fool."

Sometimes i really wished it was Kathryn who disappeared not Jordan.

"Common girl, it's been a week now, can't you just pull yourself together." She squirted into my ears, God how i wish i could slap her right there."how about we go out after class today"

" No, I can't. My aunt is coming." I finally replied to all of her nonsense.

"You know what is unbelievable?! She curiously asked me as draw closer to me.

"What?!

"Jordan's friends silence..." When those words came out of her mouth, i turned towards their direction.

I just don't get it, why the sudden silence from them. Yes, Jordan is gone but am still here. I was really expecting some teasing from them, but nothing happened. It's been a week since Jordan left but everything as change. His friends no longer bully me, people are now trying hard to talk to me (bunch of hypocrite) but what can I say, they are all welcome...

"Snap out of it." She snap her fingers right in front of my face."you might leave a hole in their face with your gaze."

"Kathryn?!!

"What?

"When last did you brush your teeth? I asked jokingly.

"They smell that bad?!! She asked checking out her breath, then the bell rang.

"Really bad." I replied as i took my bag and headed for the door." Don't worry, if you learn how to keep shut, nobody will know." With those words i walked out of the class with a grin, it's not easy to leave the ever logorrheic kathryn speechless.

I walked silently home, i couldn't take the bus, i just wanted to clear my head. I just don't know why Jordan's absence means alot to me, i just can't place my hands on it. What a day, i exclaimed. Then just suddenly, i felt a sharp pain on my head, but turned to find a ball on the floor.

"What the hell!! I exclaimed as i turned to the direction of the owner and got the shock of my life. I stood there like a statue, i couldn't bring myself to say a word, my mind was in a complete mess...

I got house feeling completely down, right now i just need a distraction. A really big distraction. Then when i thought i couldn't get one now, i saw my aunt right in front of my door. How great!!! What a distraction.

So annoying, why must she come this early. Have i told you anything about my aunt who is my supposed guardian. Mrs Alex Gilbert, my mum immediate younger sister, who ran from home at age of eighteen (i just like telling people that part) was made my legal guardian due to lack of responsible people in the family. Thank God grandma was wise not to make her have access to the properties or else she would have squandered every money at her disposal. She's only caring due to what she wants from me, which she would never get not even in her wildest dreams.

"Baby girl!! She screamed out as she ran to me to give me a tight hug." Oh! have missed you."

"Oh my God! You red out my mind." I tried really hard to show the excited part of me, i hope she buys it.

"So... how long as it been? She started with one of her awkward talks as we walk side by side into my house.

"Fine...

"Why haven't you been calling? She asked as she balance into one of my sofas in the sitting room.(cause i don't want to hear your boring voice)

"I was busy with school work." I lied as i made my way to the kitchen." Would you like water?

"Oh please! It will be my pleasure." She euphonically replied."so...i was planning to stay for the weekend, if it's okay my you."

What?!!!! Did i just ear her correctly. I ran out of the kitchen with a glass of water and handed it to her so that she can use the water to calm her brain (maybe the sun really get to her brain to make her spill all the nonsense coming out of her mouth.)

"Aunty! you can't stay here." I replied as soon as took in a gulp of water.

"And why is that?! She was really shocked by my reply.

"My...friendsss...(clapped by hands to buy time, in coming up with an excuse) are coming over." I signed for a job well done.

"Don't worry, i won't disturb...

"Nooo!!! I screamed out like my life depends on it. "It's a... secret friendly thing, we need our total privacy."

"Okay then, i will just spend the night." As she hold the glass closely staring at me, i felt like she could read through my crazy lies. But who cares, if i could come up with a lie that will make her leave right now, i will surely be glad. It's just for the night Juliana, just calm down.

We sat down there awkward glancing at each other occasionally, we aren't really that close. When it was bed time, she gently stood up and walked to the guest room while i, to my room. With her in the house, i couldn't bring myself to think of anything else. She was really a great distraction. I thought to myself as i wonder off to wonderland...
