Ughh... my head is aching.

I slowly got up from the bed clutching my head.

Why is my head hurting so much?

I looked at the clock. It's already 10 in the morning.

When I tried to stand I felt as if I was carrying a lot of weights in my back. My body was so heavy.

My breathing was ragged and looking at the mirror my face is flushed.

Moving my hand to check my temperature... right, pretty hot. I'm sick.

With my current state I don't think I can stand and get myself a medicine...

"Mo--

"No need to shout. Mom is here."

Before I could even shout the door in my room was opened by Mom.

"You know?" I asked looking at the tray she was holding.

There was porridge, a tablet, and a glass of water.

"Of course. I'm your mother after all." Mom smiled as she placed the tray in the table beside my bed.

I received the food that she handed me.

"Be careful, it's still a bit hot."

"I know."

"Good. You need to drink the medicine after you are done eating, okay?"

"Yes."

I obediently nodded and slowly eat the food. There was no taste I mean being sick does ruin your taste buds.

It took time but I eventually finished the food. Mom made it for me so I didn't have the thought of wasting any of it.

"Here, your medicine." Mom gave me the medicine and water.

I thought she was going to leave after telling me to drink the medicine...

After drinking, she cleaned up and took the tray before leaving.

"Go back to sleep. You need to rest more." Mom left those words before closing the door.

"Yeah..." I mumbled and laid down on my bed.

I closed my eyes and thought of the reason why I was sick.

It should be because I was playing with Suzune in the rain... but I didn't think I was this weak. I'm sure that silly girl is all energetic right now waiting for me to play with her.

But I have to rest for now...

*Huff* *Huff*

Hot... so hot... uncomfortable.

Suddenly, a soft and cold sensation brushed my forehead.

"Don't worry. Your mother is here. Just close your eyes." I heard Mom's soft and calming voice.

Comfortable... did Mom brought a cold towel by any chance? It is so refreshing.

I don't think I will have trouble sleeping anymore.

However, that was not all. Mom's beautiful voice sounded.

"Hush, little baby, don't say a word~ Mama's gonna buy you a mocking bird~"

This, this... I don't really think I need this, right?

Contrary to my thoughts, it didn't take long for me to truly sleep.

Shiori stopped when she noticed his even breathing. She smiled in relief while caressing his head.

She stayed for around half an hour before leaving.

I'm shocked. I was not sure how long I've slept but when I opened my eyes it was met with another. The silly girl was lying down by my side staring at me. Her gaze was indescribable leaving me silent for a couple of seconds before regaining presence.

Suzune smiled brightly knowing that I have woken up.

I wonder what she was doing while I was sleeping. Don't tell me she was here all the time staring at me... of course not.

I noticed that the towel over my forehead was still cold. It must be Suzune changing it from time to time. Otherwise, it won't be realistic if it was still cold after a couple of hours.

"What time is it?"

"It's 3:00 PM."

I looked at the clock... it's been five hours, huh.

"Are you better now?" Suzune asked with a hint of worry.

"I'm feeling a little better. We still can't play today." I answered. The pain in my head didn't fade but it was bearable and my temperature should have gone low.

"I know. I was waiting, but you took too long. If not for finding out that you are sick. I wouldn't have forgiven you." Suzune pouted.

This girl's head is only filled with fun. But this was what I like about this silly girl. It is very unfortunate for me to be at this state... I have to recover fast for Suzune.

"We can play tomorrow, hold back for now." I sighed and patted her head.

Suzune put her hand over mine, feeling my touch with closed eyes.

"Tadashi-kun, although we can't go outside and play. But at least we can play house here, right?"

"Play house?"

"Yes!"

"...okay." I smiled. I can't beat this girl.

"...you don't need to push yourself. I mean if you don't want to, it's fine." Suzune lowered her head, she might have sense something? Well, she is quite observant of me.

"Don't worry. I'm already recovered to do at least that much." I assured her.

"Really?"

"Really."

"Really, really?"

I smiled wryly, "Really, really, really, to the infinity."

"Good! Then I'll be the mother and you are the baby."

"I'm the baby? Then who is the father?"

I frowned is this play actually a description of reality? I did notice that her father was rarely in their house during the day.

I also heard Aunt Katsumi and Mom talking that Uncle leaves work at night. He was quite a busy man.

I heard that Uncle will take them to have fun when he has a day off. So it should not be... maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure Suzune does love Uncle, her father, very much.

Her drawings can be evident to that. She always draw her father as someone who would always help her every time she asks. Yeah, I should be wrong.

"You're a baby of course you only have to lie down. Let mommy take care of you."

Suzune smiled and moved. What is she doing... she is putting my head in her lap. A lap pillow then?

Deja vu? Mom just sang this song for me earlier.

"You are doing what?..."

"Singing a lullaby to let the baby sleep."

"You know I just woke up, right?"

"Shut up! The baby still doesn't have the ability to talk"

"... what am I gonna do with you..." I don't know whether to laugh or not but I won't do anything and let her continue. She is enjoying this and I can't deny that I liked this feeling.
