I walked into the family room and saw that the kids were arguing about what to check off their version of the bucket list. I saw the Haiku staircase situated in Hawaii and blurted, "Not even Crash Bandicoot would go there" Benji roared with laughter as he fell to the floor. He remembers playing that game with me. I would win half the time. I flat-out refused to go there and promised to ground them if I catch them. I was smitten by the underwater restaurant in the Maldives.
The others showed me a mountain range in China that reminded me of Dragon Ball Z. This had Edge laughing as he remembered how he fooled a young Sembi into thinking that Dragon Ball Z was a real thing. Even Sembi laughed recalling those gullible days when he would believe whatever Edge said. Then I had to spend the next few days debunking it. Benji seems to get a kick out of hearing the part of their years he had missed out on. He turned and asked Sasha what Edge had duped her into believing. She blushed eight shades of red and said she wasn't fooled into anything by Edge. I shook my head and muttered, "I recall an incident involving the washing machine..." Edge fell off his chair and laughed so hard I thought he had a case of hysteria. Sasha swiftly walked out of the room red-faced. She walked out with what dignity she had left. Tank walked out behind her. Benji asked us repeatedly and got no answer from either me or Edge.
Phillip arrived with my itinerary and asked me if I was joining the state dinner in the White House. I told him that I would be attending. I turned to Posh and asked him if he would be happy to join me. Edge barged in and asked to go with me instead. Posh nodded his head so I asked him to specify. He agreed that Edge should be my date.
Taylor and Phillip seems to disagree with my choice for the dinner date so they waited till I walked out to start prodding me to take one of them instead. I ignored them and found Jasmine on the phone instructing the interns to call a fashion designer to come and discuss a five year contract with me to design my party dresses. Posh walked behind me and heard everything. He pursed his lips as he looked through the prospects and shook his head sadly. Jasmine's face turned white and she started to call the interns to find other designers. He confiscated the phone and asked them not to worry about this. Their priority should be other chores because he has a better option. He then called the Editor in chief of the fashion magazine he owns in New York City. She said since it was for me she will see what she can do. Posh winked at me and left to see his wife. She asked him why he said no to a state dinner. He said he had plans for them and he wouldn't leave that for the world. She excused herself and approached me. She whispered into my ear, "What is your formula for raising kids? I need to know." I chuckled, "It is classified" She gave me a sad face and I laughed merrily and kissed her forehead. Posh came and took her away.
Diana came toward me wearing her pajamas, a tutu and a plastic tiara. I picked her up and removed the tiara and she gave me a look to say she wants it back. She tried to explain, "Daddy and I bought it" I took her to my room and she kept asking for it. I gave her the plastic one and walked away. That was when she saw me open the safe and was shocked when I pulled out a real one. She walked toward me autonomously. She reached out and placed the real one on her head. I smiled, "It was one of the gifts your mother left for you. She bought it the day she got her first salary. She wanted you to have it." She clutched it tightly to her chest and whispered, "Thanks mommy" She promised to wear the real one on special occasions and wore the plastic one. Still she held on to the real ones as she fell asleep. She gave it back the next morning because she was scared that she would lose it.
