Marriage contract? This isn't the 90's for goodness sake!

But as they say, all things happen for a reason. Aria is just a lady who has been hidden from the world all her life but when the contract comes along, it just might be a blessing.

Aria's hope is resurrected and she opens up to new experiences but after tragedy upon tragedy, Aria is left with nothing but painful memories and bitterness.

Finally she makes a decision to start anew and to change her environment. Just when Aria thought things might be better again, she runs into her runaway groom. The one who caused it all.

Will Aria put behind all that has happened to her and fall in love again or will she always remember the painful past her first love caused? 

It's not easy to forget love but it's not easy to forget pain either.

Pain or love?

Evie sighs and slams her head onto the seat dramatically. I snort before grabbing my phone to text Kelly.


I smile and Evie looks at me before making a retching noise.


I grin " That's because I am a lovesick puppy"


She shakes her head "You're in love meanwhile dad has your wedding all figured out"


I clench my jaw "It's good if the companies merge, we need the help"


She snorts "So you become the sacrificial lamb? What about Kelly?"


I sigh "We've talked about it, we'll figure it out"


"Saying that doesn't always help Scottie, you need to tell them you don't want this"


"I'm not about to ruin their plans Evie, they need this. You know they do"


"Yeah but not at the expense of your happiness, you just need to say a word and they will cancel the contract" she answered


"Can you stop Evie? I'm getting a migraine from your yapping" 


She stops and leans back into her seat " Ok but don't ruin three lives Scott because that's what you're going to do if this wedding happens"


We finally arrive home, I get out of the car and see the car parked in the house. They must be here. Not in the mood to deal with human interaction, I walk around and go through the back door. 


I walk into my room and toss my jacket on the bed. I grab a bottle of water from the fridge in my room. My phone beeps and I grab it


I groan in annoyance, I should have told Evie to take the back too. When mum sees her, she looks for me too.


I walk out the door and down the hallway and something bumps into me. I stare down at her.


A tiny girl, about 5'4. Brunette with the deepest green eyes I've ever seen. Her mouth is open though, like she wants to say something.


" Uh are you okay? " I snap my fingers in front of her face and that seems to do it because she blinked many times before focusing on me.


"it's ok" I stepped away from her and looked at her well.


She was dressed in a red gown which she looks uncomfortable in and the shoes on her legs are definitely Louis Vuitton. I settle on her face again and behind all the makeup, I see a very pretty girl. 


Realizing we were having a staring contest, o cleared my throat "What are you doing here?"


"Well um bathroom, I went to use the bathroom"


I nodded and walked away from her towards the living room. Evie was seated beside dad and two other people were seated.


I smiled at mum and went to kiss her cheek before sitting beside her. Dad introduced them as Mr and Mrs Johnson, in other words my future in-laws.


The girl from the hallway walked down the stairs and walked to another chair beside Mrs Johnson.


"So Scott this is Aria, Aria this is Scott"


I look at her as she gives me a smile I can tell is practiced. I smile back and look away from her. So she is my future wife.


"And this is Evie, Scott's younger sister" mum said gesturing to Evie.


Aria smiles at her before looking down at her hands again. Her father chuckles as he hands her the file. She collects it and is about to sign. She looks up again and our eyes meet and I secretly hoped she wouldn't sign it, so I won't be the one disappointing my parents.


She looks away from me and signs the document which just sealed our fate.


She releases a shaky breath when her father collects the document and hand it to my father.


"We're family now" Both adults say laughing.


Aria's mum put an arm around her and she smiles but it's fake. She looks over to me again and I can definitely see it in her eyes, she doesn't want this too
