Another Person Who Knows Her

"Second Miss?"

Ming Qu had just arrived at the lobby on the first floor when a receptionist came forward to welcome her.

She was a little surprised.

She hadn't told anyone that she was coming here.

"How did you know that I was coming?"

Ming Qu smiled with her lips tightly shut, her inquisitive eyes full of curiosity.

The receptionist smiled awkwardly. "You look quite similar to the eldest miss. I saw you coming in from afar."

She couldn't really refute what she had said.

But how did she look like Ming Lai?

She was petite, and Ming Lai was tall and big.

She had a delicate and agile frame, while Ming Lai was built to look strong. The two of them were clearly not the same type. Even in terms of their features, she had phoenix eyes while Ming Lai had almond eyes.

"Alright, whatever you say. I'm going upstairs now."

Ming Qu smiled weakly, waving her hand at the lady as she walked towards the elevator.

The girl didn't follow her any further. It seemed that she had just wanted to build a relationship with her. However, as Ming Qu looked to be as difficult to talk to as Ming Lai, she was naturally persuaded to leave.

Thinking about this, Ming Qu guessed that the people here probably knew her from her appearance at Ming Zhicheng's birthday party when she had just returned.

She smiled mockingly before taking the elevator to the top floor.

Just as she had gotten out of the elevator, she ran into Ming Zhicheng's secretary.

She seemed to be a capable girl...

"Second Miss..."

...And another person who knew her.

Ming Qu thought to herself with a smile.

"Is my dad around?"

"The chairman isn't around."

"When will he be back?"

"Probably not until the afternoon."

"Of course."

The female secretary naturally didn't dare to turn her away. She led Ming Qu to the lounge next to the chairman's office. After she had returned with some coffee, Ming Qu couldn't help but ask.

"I wanted to know, how many people from the Ming family work at Ming Group?"

The secretary put down the coffee before she paused. She raised her head, looking at her in confusion.

Ming Qu noticed her reaction and quickly explained, "It's like this. I have just come back to Tong City, and I'm not very familiar with the Ming family's uncles. I wanted to come to learn their faces."

Her explanation seemed far-fetched, but the secretary was amiable.

"Second Miss, the side branches of the Ming family do not have the right to work here. Only the legitimate heirs of the Ming family would come here."

"And the shareholders are not here either?"

"No."

"Okay, thank you."

Seeing that she would not be able to get anything else out of her, Ming Qu did not want to waste any more time with her.

She sat alone. The secretary only stayed briefly before she left.

After she had left, Ming Qu put down her coffee, following her out.

Taking advantage of the fact that no one else seemed to be around, she sneaked into the chairman's office to look through some information. Just as the secretary had said, there was indeed no one else from the Ming family who worked at the huge Ming Group, apart from the chairman and Ming Lai.

However, she had accidentally come across a confidential document.

Seeing the seal on the document bag, her heart rate inexplicably rose.

This was a document issued by the central government, but why would it have been given to Ming Zhicheng?

She was intrigued. She examined it up and down, finding that it had not yet been opened. It seemed that it had only just been delivered.

Ming Qu did not stay any longer. She hid the document on her body before returning to the lounge. After a while, she left the building.

However, she had overlooked something important. There had been a camera stationed between the lounge and the chairman's office.

Ming Qu's actions had all been recorded.

When she realized this, she was already on the way home.

Afraid that she would not be able to rectify this in time and be discovered, she did the only thing she could, and gave Gu Yuzhen a call.

The dialler only rang once before it was picked up. "What are you doing?"

This abrupt question startled Ming Qu.

Recovering her senses after a brief pause, she said anxiously, "Ah Zhen, do me a favor. You should have a way to hack into other people's surveillance cameras, right?"

"Where?"

Sure enough, he didn't even bother asking for the reason and immediately asked for the address.

"The surveillance cameras outside Ming Group's chairman's office... No, the entire Ming Group building's surveillance cameras. Wipe them all."

"Okay."

He agreed readily. Ming Qu smiled in relief before hanging up the phone.

Not long after, she received an 'OK' from Gu Yuzhen.

Immediately following this, her phone rang again.
