Help From the Landlord

As soon as he entered Lydia's apartment, Mowen told Lydia to sit on the sofa and not move. "Where's the medical kit? Tell me, I'll go get it."

Lydia pointed at a shelf not far away. Mowen quickly found the medical kit and opened it up. He took out a few things and gently dressed Lydia's wounds.

It was now summer. In order to save money, Lydia did not use the air conditioner. Instead, she turned on the huge fan that had been given to her by someone else. The wind from the fan blew gently, lifting up Lydia's thin bathrobe. However, it did not reveal her private area, it aroused people crazily.

Mowen put on the medicine and was quickly drenched in sweat. He even let out a few long breaths. After applying the medicine, he sat at the side and wiped his face. "You're really too charming."

"Could it be that you agreed to rent me a house back then because I happened to meet your beauty standards? Did you harbor ill intentions towards me from the start?"

"Oh, no, no, no. I was just admiring you before." Not only did he admire her beauty, he also admired her perseverance. When Lydia moved over, she had come alone. She did not feel tired doing anything by herself.

"I also admire you."

"Then it seems that I have a chance." Mowen was full of anticipation.

At this time, Lydia suddenly thought of Marcel. She thought of his strong body and heavy breathing. Just thinking about him aroused Lydia. She hurriedly rubbed her temples and threw Marcel out of her mind. "Shouldn't the police be here?"

After Lydia's reminder, Mowen quickly remembered that there were still police officers and things he had to deal with. "I'll go deal with them first. I'll let you know what happened later."

As he walked to the door, he put Lydia's medical kit back to its original position.

Lydia could not help but give Mowen a thumbs up. He was really a warm man who knew how to take care of people.

The next morning, Lydia had just woken up when an unfamiliar phone call came in. Seeing that it was a local number, Lydia picked it up. The tone on the other end was full of vitality. "Hello, Lydia. Good morning! Did you sleep well last night?"

Mowen's voice. She had given him her phone number when renting the apartment. However, she had to change this phone number now. She really didn't want to endure the repeated calls from Julie.

"I slept okay. What's wrong? Are you going to tell me the outcome of last night's matter?"

"Although that person is a scumbag, he didn't deliberately disturb the neighbors when he was living here. I thought it was strange, so I asked my friend at the police station to help interrogate him. In the end, there was really something fishy going on about him."

"Oh? Could it be that there's someone else behind this?"

"Someone gave him money and asked him to disturb you. The strange thing is that the behind-the-scenes financier only asked him to disturb you, but didn't ask him to do anything improper to you."

"Who is it?"

Mowen kept her guessing. "I don't know if I have the honor of treating Miss Lydia to a candlelight dinner."

Lydia smiled and said, "It's my turn to treat. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't even know that I was getting taken advantage of by someone else. I will definitely treat you to a big meal next time."

Mowen was momentarily at a loss for words. Lydia had instantly turned a date he had planned into a thank-you dinner. However, it didn't matter. As long as they could have a meal together, their relationship would improve.

"It's a man. I've asked a friend to check. It's the young master of the Dunbar family, Eric Dunbar."

Lydia gripped her phone tightly.

Eric Dunbar was her half-brother. These Dunbars were really haunting her at every moment. Even when she was no longer in their lives, they still wanted to cause trouble for her.
