Another Beginning

The white flash had knocked out all monsters it had enveloped. All but two monsters were unaware of the passage of time, their very existence paused at the moment the white glow had touched them. The two monsters stood oblivious to their surroundings, only aware of the myriad colors that seemed to pass them by as they stared at each other.

"Gotta admit, the passage of a Rosetta Stone is beautiful, huh?" Milia's visage neared rapture as she closed her eyes, feeling the cool yet hot air push against her tall frame. Her strapping form held a lot more powerful then her well proportioned body let on, the muscles being not brawny enough to resemble a person on steroids but compact enough resemble steel when tightened.

"Did you expect me to agree? Let's fight some more instead of make small talk." Alban asseverated, unwilling to listen to Milia ramble for any longer. He figured he might as well take the chance to damage her as much as possible instead of pretend to listen. Alban was an unruly battle hungry savage, not a gentleman who moved to the whims of any stranger he encountered.

"I like you a lot better than those stuck up bastards that are my superiors. You really know how to flatter a glory hungry girl like myself-" Before Milia could finish, she felt a heavy burden settle itself right on her nose once again. As she felt blood droop onto her lips she fixed her position, refusing to be pushed back as far as the first time. She bellowed out a moo of contentment before running towards the youth that was already quickly approaching her with an outstretched fist.

Seeing that Milia reacted much more rapidly than she had before, he did not panic. Such an emotion was foreign to him at this point, he merely changed his stance to fit Milia's frame. As she swung her hooves at Alban's chest, the savage in question narrowly avoided it and smacked her chest with a blazing right palm. Before Milia could react an earthen spike protruded out of the palm that clasped onto her, though the wound it left was quite shallow. Her pectoral muscles crushed most of the spike, preventing it from impaling her heart. She moved too fast for Alban to disengage, swatting him a couple of meters away with a simple flick of her wrist.

As Alban flew through the air he didn't stop his attacks, relegating his calculative and refined attacks into a frenzy that befit his countenance. He flung both fireballs and bolts of earth at Milia, sometimes mixing it up and combining the two to make a molten spike. Milia relied purely on her physicality to deflect the flurry, taking the opportunity she now had to talk to Alban once more.

"You're a perv, aren't you? You could've aimed anywhere else but it HAD to be my chest?"

"I want to kill you and your heart seemed like a pretty effective way to go about it. Now that I know, I'll take another approach." His statement was met with Milia's satisfied face. The much awaited rapture that attempted to affix itself upon her face had now done so in full fervor.

Her eyes chased Alban's sidestepping form, noting how mesmerizing the young adult looked. Her bliss intensified at the thought of meeting such a battle freak, one who enjoyed fighting perhaps even more than her. Not only that, but he respected her enough to outright kill her instead of make any disgusting or lewd gestures. She was in a blissful paradise all on her own as she gathered the thunder mana she had liberally used prior and shot out a large ray at Alban's rapidly shifting position.

As her fingers glowed as electricity flowed through them, Alban's tattoos were aglow as well. A red haze enfolded his body as his sharp eyes intensified even further. Alban was conscious this time, though he couldn't stop a horrifying roar from escaping his smiling lips. His baleful eyes were so concentrated that Milia felt as if his gaze adjoined her body.

Alban's irises changed from a deep brown into a pale white as his cornea and pupils submerged into a black as abyssal as the recesses of his soul. He dashed towards Milia with his mouth gaped, his pearly white fangs gleaming sharp enough to cut a tree in half. Milia took quickly took stock of the situation she found herself in, shooting her condensed electricity at Alban's body.

The adrenaline that coursed along Alban's veins had congealed into a metamorphic state as his frame obtruded from the earth platform he had momentarily landed on. His fists were covered in earth as hard as a boulder as he propelled himself towards Milia, a maddened look on his face.

As Milia tried to flick him away once more, this time with a voltage high enough to knock him out, Alban made no attempts to dodge. Her hand lodged itself into his chest, stopping just short of his leftmost crystal lung. As his ruddy crimson blood flowed around Milia's hands as a look of shock filled her face, he made sure his rocky hands filled her face as well. A sudden blaze charred Milia's face once more.

The two stood locked together, Alban's flames burning bright enough to offset the colors that flowed around them. Milia felt paralyzed with fear at this moment, although her glee had not subsided one bit. Perceiving this, her dread escalated a step furthermore. She was set into a rigid position, unable to move at all as she peered into Alban's eyes.

The two were stuck in that situation for a long time, Milia unable to move and Alban wildly thrashing his fist against her face, while kicking her abdomen with earth spiked feet. Water pressed itself up against Milia's neck, tight enough to asphyxiate her if it wasn't for her thick muscles protecting her. Alban kept flailing until he fell unconscious, toppling off of Milia's hand. As his eyes closed, the electricity that ran rampant through his body somehow found their way into his soul.

Milia was free to move, and yet she couldn't for what felt like a century. Her stiff and unyielding body slowly became limber once more. She stared down at Alban's prone body that still emanated his wild aura, watching his uncanny vitality already start repairing the frame it belonged to. A titter escaped Milia's lips.

"You weren't the strongest I have ever fought, but you feel like the most dangerous. I hope the arena treats you well enough so that we may fight a more satisfying battle next time." She cupped her lips and blew a kiss at the laid out savage. She ambled over and sat by him, gazing at all the paused monsters and flowing colors that danced along the edges of her vision.

She found it poetic, really. She had just had an arduous battle that no one would ever know happened. The only beings she had shared this moment with was the youth that slumbered beside her and the universe itself. As a deep and profound tranquility crept into her countenance, she let out a contented moo as she waited for the transportation to end, unaware of the reason why she was even able to experience the passage.

The reason why softly snored as time passed quickly.
