David woke up and found himself on a sofa. He blinked and looked around, 'Where in the world am I?'
"Good, you're already awake," Christine said and smiled at him.
"Where am I?"
"You mean us. We are on a date out of town for the weekend. It was my prize, remember?" Christine answered and smirked.
David quickly sat up and put on an irritated face. "But I thought… I told you that…"
Christine cut him off, "You were lying. I gave the gift certificate to my friends though. They said thanks."
David scoffed, "What did you do?"
"What do you mean?" she asked innocently but raised her right brow after, "Oh… you mean this? Simple. I told Denise to flatten all of your tires so when we went out, you were worried. Then, I told you I'll call a person who can fix your car but at the same time, you were so sleepy because I put a sleeping pill on your juice. I figured out you might want to call for help so I left your cell phone and your wallet at my house," she revealed to him the truth and then crossed her arms.
David looked at her sternly, "You cannot do this. This is illegal," he said angrily.
She narrowed her eyes at him. He was surely testing her patience. "Well, I just did…" she snapped and stood up. "Got a problem with that?" She put her hands on her hips.
"You have no reason to be angry, you know that?" David insisted;
She scoffed, "Riiiight… so I should just be happy and jump with glee because a guy I happened to really like ditches me on a date he promised? NO! Not. a. chance,"
"Look, it was a game…" David reasoned.
Christine cut him off again. "Hey, I promised to stop stalking you after this. So could you just cooperate with me? David Ji, I will not take advantage of you. If that is the reason you are so scared of me."
David closed his eyes, "I did not say that…it's just that… never mind…"
"Let's go," she said.
"Where to?"
She chuckled. "I'll buy you some clothes… I'll take you to dinner… and something like that," she said and walked away.
David shook his head but couldn't help but smile. He followed her.

To David's surprise, it had been fun. He thought she would take him to the mall to shop but instead they went to the street fashion shop and Christine bought him clothes while bargaining to get the cheapest price. He found himself laughing every time Christine would negotiate for the price and Kenji was right, she was really beautiful.
After the shopping spree, they went to an ordinary restaurant instead of a fancy one and to his amazement, Christine ordered the native foods of their country and even burped after she was full! He thought it was so cute. Christine bought him traditional ice cream on a cone after and then, they went back to the resort.
David was watching her. She was standing by the terrace with her back facing him with her hair being blown by the wind. She was a mysterious sight to behold and he could not stop himself from walking towards her.
"Hey…" he said and stood beside her.`
"Where do you want to go tomorrow?" she asked him instead.
David shrugged, "Wherever you like."
"Okay," she replied and looked away.
David sighed. Somehow, his opinions about her changed and now, he wants to know her more, "Tell me about you,"
She scoffed, "So did I finally interest you?" she asked and looked at him.
David looked away, " A bit…"
"My parents own the Wei Malls. So that certificate that you gave me? I could have a million of that by want."
David chuckled, "Really… so you are rich."
"My parents are…" she sighed and looked away.
David couldn't put a finger on it but what she did just attracted him. "What do you mean?" he couldn't help but to ask
"I strive to make it on my own," she responded elegantly.
"How?" Now, he is curious.
"I design clothes and secretly sell them to designers without my parents knowing," she replied and smiled.
That was unexpected. He kept asking as if there was force that was making him ask her more, "Why would you do that?"
"Because I don't want them to tell me what to do with my life," she said and smiled at him. "Since I am making my own money, they cannot. But it wasn't really that much. At times, I need to place a bet on a pool game just to get money."
David smiled, "No wonder you beat me."
He couldn't help but admire her. She wasn't what he expected her to be. Christine looked at him and smiled… and he swore, he had never seen anyone more beautiful than her that night.

After some many fun trips they had done that day, they ended up sitting by the terrace again. Their faces were a perfect picture of happiness.
"Thank you," Christine said.
"For?"
"Finally cooperating with me."
He shrugged, "I had fun."
"Good…"
"Yup…"
"So I guess, this is it. Don't worry. I'll keep my promise. I won't stalk, follow or declare my love for you in public ever again."
David nodded, "Christine…"
"Yes?"
"You know you're beautiful, right?"
""Please don't flatter me. It will just make it harder for me to forget you."
David smiled, "You should not go around declaring your feelings to guys openly. They might abuse your feelings towards them and end up taking advantage of you."
Christine closed her eyes, "You're the only one I did that to."
"Why?"
"Because whether you believe it or not, I fell in love with you," she replied and smiled sadly. "But don't worry about it. A promise is a promise… You'll never see me again after this."

Back at the Ji's estate, Joe looked at her watch and her phone. Yesterday, she called him and the one who answered was a girl named Denise. She said David was out with Christine for the weekend date. 'He should have called me at least.'
She walked to the garden and sat down on the bench staring at the starry night. A single tear fell. 'Will I lose you David? Will I lose you to her?'
She closed her eyes. She has no match for Christine. The Madame seems to approve even. After knowing that David was with Christine Wei, she had hoped to make a merger with the Wei Malls Building Corp. Christine Wei is a woman who is pretty, rich, and smart. She's perfect for David.
