Chapter 16

“There is nothing to be concerned about. It seems the excessive stress and the fatigue from traveling the long-distance, combined with having taken a walk in the rain has given him a mild cold.” The doctor says. “I will prescribe him some medicine for his coughing and for the fever.”

“Thank you, Doctor.” Phoenix thanks while I sit quietly beside the bed, my hands on my lap. I can hear the door click shut once the doctor leaves, possibly leaving the prescription to either the Head Butler, or the Head Maid to prepare.

“It’s not your fault.” he says.

“... did I say that out loud?”
