Chapter 40: Deception Revealed

(Reagan’s POV)

I was currently laying in bed, flipping through channels on the new TV in Alexander’s room that I had managed to convince him to buy. I had called in sick at school because for the first time in forever I actually was sick, not lying about being sick. Sure, I currently felt as though I had been run over by a bus, but it felt good having a relaxing day where I could just do nothing.

Alexander was at work, even though he had told me that he would call in too if I wanted him to stay. I told him to just go to work because not only did I not want to get him sick too, but I also could take care of myself. When I told him that last part, he was adamant that I not doing anything at all today and stay in bed. He also told me that if I didn’t that, he was planning on punishing me once I got better. Honestly, I wanted to disobey his command just to see what punishment that he had in store for me.
