Chapter 1- Miles

Hi, my name's Miles. I'm 19 and living in Seadeep. It's a large city for the most part on the northern Dagger Coast. Life here for many is quite pleasant between the merchants, trade ships, and locals. Naturally all the rich folks are clustered in a walled mini-community by East District, while the poorer people are in the West District.

I guess to explain how the city is laid out, you got the port to the west called South District. Almost all the trade comes from those ships. The south quarter of the city is known as West District. That's usually where you find the arriving land-merchants, poorer people and mercenaries. The eastern quarter is the North District. You want a room, food, drinks? North District has a lot of the decent taverns and inns as well as most of the commonwealth houses. The center of the city is called The Square and that's where you'll find shops of all kinds from potions to food to weaponry and the town hall.

Where do I live? Hah, I bounce from town to town doing espionage and reconnaissance missions for many guilds across the Dagger Coast. Including myself there's three of us in the party.

You see in our world magic is a super regulated and restricted ability governed by the Country and ruled by the Wizardry Foundation. What it boils down to is the fact that the world suffered so much after the last mage war over a thousand years ago that the entire globe agreed to limit magic.

The only problem was...sorcerers. To be specific, a bloodline caster who could gain magic with no proper regulations or documentation. Add to the fact that many of them become unstable and very unpredictable with more than a few rebellions since the war, a new adventuring class was created. The Blood Hunters. Their sole-purpose is to use all kinds of methods to find these bloodlines and eradicate them from existence.

My party including myself are all Blood Hunters with different specialties. So I was walking back to the Leaking Tavern where we were staying after going shopping for food when Rin's falcon landed on my arm with a note.

"Miles when you get a chance it seems the trail has picked up again and we move tonight" -Rin.

I kept walking while reading that, but quickened up the pace because we spent 3 months here trying to track down a rebellious group of sorcerers. If they slipped away again...well I really don't want to write that follow-up report to the guild in Galdur's Fence.
