Chapter 24: Gentle Giant

"Umm... I'm sorry, I need to go, my friend has an emergency" Liam said in an apologetic manner but Tristan still wants to continue watching the 'little animal' eat

"Eat first" Tristan replied while pointing at the cupcake and ice cream

Liam also felt that it was not a good manner to not finish the food a person already took a bite off and he nodded his head

The 'animal feeding program' continued before Liam remembered something

"And oh, my friend said that Calix set him up. Do you know what that means?" Liam asked curiously

In Klein and Calix's group of friends, only them are at odds with each other

Cain and Shane are dating and they were always gone in the next second to have a date

As for Liam, he was saved by Tristan from the hands of the 'devil'. He even got a free cupcake and ice cream from his savior!

His simple mind only has a good impression of Tristan. Thus, it was really only Calix and Klein that prevents the two groups from having a perfect harmony

In reply, Tristan shook his head. As soon as the two were punished, they don't have time to inform their friends of what happened. Hence, Tristan is as clueless as Liam

"Aww, that's too bad. I wonder what happened" Liam said with a sigh before taking another bite of his cupcake. Since his mouth was small, it also takes a long time before he even finishes a single cupcake

The way he eats is a bit messy and Tristan took out a tissue to wipe the crumbs on Liam's lips

Earlier, Tristan sees Liam as a little kitten but now, Liam became a little baby in his eyes

The type of baby that adults always need to clean up after they ate

Thus, the unsuspecting Liam that didn't know that he level up from being an animal to a human baby only felt grateful for Tristan

In his eyes, Tristan rarely speaks but this guy is very gentle, kind, and attentive. Not knowing that the attention he was receiving is akin to what the adults gave to babies

After the cupcake, the next was the ice cream. This time, Tristan already learned his lesson and he moved his head to the side

He felt that the way Liam eats ice cream is too awkward for other people's eyes. With that, Liam finished eating while Tristan avoids looking at him

"I'm done, I really need to go now!"

Liam still doesn't know what Klein's emergency is but he needs to help a friend in need

However, he didn't expect Tristan's next words. "I'll help too"

That causes Liam to crease his forehead while looking at the tall guy. Is Tristan so kind to the point that he even wants to help a person he is not even close with?

Liam felt like he just met the kindest person in the world and it greatly touches him. Who in the world is as kind as this gentle giant?

He didn't know that Tristan just wants to continue 'taking care of' a person that he sometimes viewed as either a little animal or a little baby

"Y-you don't need to!"

Although Liam was touched, he still doesn't want Tristan to tire himself. For Liam, his help might already enough, and if not, there is still Shane

"It's Calix's fault, I'll help" Tristan effortlessly bluffed. Since no emotion can be seen in his face, Liam didn't suspect him to be lying at all and it almost brought him to tears

Although Klein's situation is apparently Calix's fault, since that guy is Tristan's friend, the tall guy still decided to bear the consequences

Liam already forgot how many good person cards were given to Tristan by him. He stood up from his seat and since Tristan was still sitting, Liam managed to reach the taller guy's head

"How can a pure and kind person like you exist?" Liam muttered with a sigh as if Tristan is an Angel or a Saint

Tristan "???"

"I feel like the mortal world that is filled with sins is not for you"

Tristan "???"

Tristan has the desire to open the head of the little guy with him to see the thoughts inside his mind

Why is Liam looking at him as if he's a creature without any dirt or filth?

"You don't need to but since you want to help, I'll let you tag along!"

Well, whatever. Tristan achieved his goal so who cares what kind of scenario was playing inside Liam's head?

Thus, the two walks side by side while Liam would sometimes stare at Tristan with adoration on his face

Tristan doesn't know what Liam is thinking but the attention he was receiving was not that... bad

After some time, the two finally reached their destination. Since Klein's apartment is near, they just traveled on foot

However, because of Liam's laziness and low stamina, walking alone sucked almost all of his energy

Knowing how tired the little guy is, Tristan took the liberty to click the doorbell

It didn't take that long before the door was open. It revealed Klein that is only wearing a sleeveless shirt and short shorts

At home, Klein likes to wear comfortable clothes. Since the weather is still not that cold, he wore clothes with little fabric

If the students from the Stanford University sees him, they would surely get wild and take tons of his pictures

He has a seductive aura around him again. Fortunately, Liam is already immune to that while Tristan prefers a ball of cuteness

"What happened to your arm?" Liam asked worriedly. Klein's dress was already almost perfect but it was ruined by the bandage in his arm

It was not broken but it was swollen to the point that it was terribly hard and painful for Klein whenever he moves it

"It's all that Calix's fault!" Klein answered while gnashing his teeth before he noticed Tristan

Klein recognizes him and although he felt that it was bad to badmouth a person in front of their friend, he was still too angry to care about that

"I'm angry at him, okay? You can't stop me from saying bad things about your friend" Klein said before turning to look at Liam, inquiring why a friend of Calix is here

Seeing that look, Liam puffed his chest proudly. "Since your emergency is because of Calix, his friend wants to help! Isn't he really kind? This is the first time I met someone that greatly fits the words, gentle giant!"

Klein almost sees stars sparkling around Liam that was adoring the 'kind' person in his side

"Is that true?" Klein asked doubtfully but Tristan doesn't have the desire to speak the truth and he just nodded his head

Although Klein is not a hundred percent convinced, he still guided them inside his apartment

"So what's your emergency?" Liam asked after entering and Klein pointed at a nearby table that has several tall stacks of papers

"I am punished to check those Quizlets and I need your help!"

This is not the emergency that Liam was expecting and he unconsciously took a step back as if he was running away from the task when he heard Klein's threatening voice

"John Liam Hordeen, don't think I already forgot how you messed with me by uploading that video"

Klein deliberately didn't say what he needs Liam to do when he called. He knew that with this guy's personality, Liam would be unwilling to help him check these tall stacks of Quizlets

Liam really did want to flee but the way Klein looks at him made him feel like he only has two options

The first one is to help check all these papers. The second one is to leave here without his life intact

Out of desperation, Liam can only turn to look at Tristan but the tall guy averted his gaze, he doesn't have the intention to help

Kind guys are really different! Even after seeing what they need to do, Tristan still don't want to run to help Klein

Tristan receives another kind guy card even though he just doesn't want to go home yet

Without a choice, Liam can only pout while crying inside him and Klein nodded his head in satisfaction at that

"But why are there so many papers?" Liam can't help but ask. Based on the information that he got, the two were only punished by a single teacher. Just how many classes is she handling to have these many papers?

"That's because these are from different teachers! Prof Karen had the other teachers give these papers to me as a punishment. She didn't even give me the chance to explain myself or inform her that my arm is injured!" Klein answered with bitterness in his tone

That prof was really too strict, she didn't give the students a chance to explain themselves

Klein can't help but think she is quite lacking as a teacher. Even if a student did something bad, shouldn't the teacher still allow the student to explain their side before making a judgment?
