Chapter 27: Suspicious

Calix ignored the teasing looks he was receiving as he checked what these people were doing

He saw that they were checking Quizlets and from the looks of it, they still have a lot of papers to check

Calix already realized the gist of this matter and also how Cain played a trick on him

Because of that, Calix shot his good friend a look. Even without saying anything, Cain can already guess what is in his friend's mind

For now, Calix wouldn't say anything about it but Cain would surely pay the price for his deception

Without saying anything, Calix walks in Klein's direction that acted as if a plague was coming

That tick off Calix a bit but he just sat down next to Klein as if it was the most natural thing to do in the world

"Give me your pen, I'll check it for you" Calix offered his help causing the 'audience' to whistle loudly

The drama series in their head gained an additional romantic scene wherein the male lead doesn't want the main character to tire himself

Contrary to the audience that applause Calix's romantic side, Klein only have suspicions

He didn't even need to say anything to make people know the thoughts inside his head

Because of that, Calix let out an exasperated sigh before stretching out his palm. "I'm serious, give the pen to me"

Klein looks at that wide-open palm. Every finger can be said to be very long. Klein even felt like this hand can grab his whole face

Although Klein has some fighting skills, could he actually win if he were to fight with this kind of guy?

Calix that didn't know the person he wants to help has thoughts of fighting him physically took the liberty to take the pen from Klein's hand

"Hey!" Klein complained. He was still thinking of having a fistfight with Calix for setting him up when his pen was taken away from him

"Don't be stubborn and rest" Calix simply said before starting to check the papers

"Yes, yes, Klein, just rest"

"True, Calix doesn't want you to get tired"

Klein's two friends that he feels like aren't actually his friend teased him yet again. It was too bad that his pen was snatched away from him. If not, he can use it to stab the eyes of those two

Deciding that he doesn't have any energy for them, Klein just focused on Calix. "How can I be assured that you aren't planning something against me again? What if you don't check these papers correctly. Won't I be the one to be blamed again?"

This is the result of having a bad impression. Everything that Calix does would be seen negatively by Klein. Even his sincere help was being questioned

"I didn't set you up, it was just a coincidence" Calix grumbled but Klein naturally wouldn't believe him

"Yeah, and fire is cold. Give me back my pen, I don't trust you"

The situation started to heat up yet again. The audience even forgot to continue checking the papers as they watched the live drama series in front of them

Calix turned to look at Klein, seeing the apparent distrust from the latter, the former can only let out a long breath. This situation is really testing Calix's patience

"What should I do for you to believe me?"

"I don't know, die?" Klein shrugs and he sees how lines formed in his enemy's forehead

"What? You wanna fight?" Klein asked aggressively as if he was ready to take on Calix any time from now

"You do realize you are being unreasonable, right?" Calix asked while trying to calm himself

His handsome face was flushed red in anger while his jaws were tightly clenched together

Calix is ​​already being patient enough! However, everyone's patience has a limit. With Klein's actions, he is helping Calix reach his limit at a fast speed

"Why should I be reasonable to a person that harmed me?" Klein asked back with his face darkening

Klein will never be kind to anyone that harmed him, not again...

It should have been Calix that is angry now but the change in Klein's expression entered the eyes of everyone present around

They can feel that there is something in Klein's words but they didn't dare ask about it

Out of the people here, aside from Klein, only Shane and Liam can understand the double meaning behind Klein's words

"W-we need snacks!" Liam suddenly blurted out loudly, gaining everyone's attention in himself

This makes his face turn red out of embarrassment. He wants to change the current topic but the manner in which he did it was very obvious

He even made himself look like a starving wolf

Fortunately, Shane helped him. "R-right, Klein do you have any snacks here? Don't worry about these papers, we'll take care of it and I'll make sure that Calix wouldn't trick you again!"

Klein knew that his emotions were getting out of hand. Maybe because Klein always made sure that the people that harmed him would be far from him, he easily loses control of his emotions when a person like Calix was in his presence

With a sigh, Klein stood up from his seat, leaving the place with an awkward atmosphere

Fortunately, no one from Tristan, Cain, or Calix asked anything. Everyone has their own secrets and bad experiences

These three are not close with Klein to ask for such a personal thing

"Checking these papers are too boring" Liam muttered after some time and the others agreed

There were around a thousand of these papers. Even if there were several of them, it would still take some time to finish

Such a boring thing is hard to do if there is nothing they were looking forward for

"How about we drink later after we finish?" Cain suggested and Shane's eyes lit up

"Good idea!"

From the two groups of friends, it was Cain and Shane that enjoyed drinking a lot

The others also drink but they were not as enthusiastic as these two

But if  they have something to look forward to after checking the papers, their productivity would surely increase

"But we haven't eaten yet?" Liam chimed, completely forgetting the fact that he just ate a cupcake earlier. It seems like his little tummy is already hungry

"Too bad, Klein is injured. If not, he could cook for us" Shane said with a sigh. It was really a pity. This was a good occasion to taste Klein's food again

Although cooking is just a hobby of Klein and he doesn't really exert a lot of effort into it, his cooking skills were still superb!

Back at the opening event of the university, their class's booth didn't easily reach the quota just because of the cook's looks

It was both because of Klein's handsomeness and talent!

"He's smart and talented. What a perfect guy" Cain muttered dreamily. He looks as if he was dreaming of being Klein's boyfriend

If it was other girls, Shane would surely get jealous. Thankfully, they both know that what they have is not anything serious

"Keep on dreaming!" Shane said with a chuckle. This kind of reaction is not something new to her

When they were in high school, the gays, bis, and even 'straights' all have a crush on Klein. He was deemed as the perfect boyfriend with his looks, talent, intelligence, kindness, and attitude

However, all those guys can only dream as Klein don't even give them the chance

"From the start, you already have a crush on him, right? Why did you turn his friend into your girlfriend?" Calix asked in confusion but he also deliberately asked it today

These two, Cain and Shane always give him a headache. It wouldn't be too much to cause a little fight between the two, right?

Too bad for Calix that it won't work. Shane won't get jealous. For her, it was only her boyfriend that will have a reason to be jealous, not her, never!

If they were to cheat on her then Shane will just go and find another handsome boyfriend! As easy as that!

Cain also know that fact and he gave an honest yet also too cheesy answer

"My friend, I do have a crush on him but Klein is like a Celestial Goddes! He is too pure and untouchable. How can I dare corrupt such a being?" Cain answered while shaking his head and Calix almost smacked his head

"I am a gay man, not a transwoman. Those two are different so don't call me a Goddess" Klein's unhappy voice entered everyone's ears

Klein rolled his eyes at Cain and he even almost threw the bag of chips in his left hand

"My apologies, Your Holiness" Cain apologizes while bowing his head

This guy is really silly and Klein that already calmed himself chuckled a bit

"Why do I feel as if you like roleplaying that much. Why don't you join the drama club?"
