Chapter 1: Nakashiko

Couple of things I wanted to state before you started reading. This story is pretty dark and has some sensitive stuff so just a warning. Also I recommend you listen to this music track as it brings out a lot of emotion at least when I'm listening to it.

A tv was blasting in a living room with a happy child who had been stuck in foster care for about seven years. Now being eight the kid's name was Nakashiko Shitoro. Though he had been bullied through the program from adults to children he had finally found his home. A loving father who worked as a detective and solved crimes and a beautiful mother who was a teacher for about 16 years now. His father's brown short hair with blue eyes made him very attractive to many women and that included his wife. His wife had silky long black hair with the darkest of black eyes.

Overall they made a happy loving family that never had many problems. It was a normal Friday afternoon and Nakashiko was happy to finally have his break from school. He sat on the living floor carpet with a smile on his face. The house was clean though there were small toys that sat next to Nakashiko and the windows were opened letting in natural sunlight. He played happily with his toys as he watched his favorite series. His father was in the kitchen making dinner as his wife had been visiting some friends. Though she was about 10 minutes late he didn't mind starting dinner early.

Ten minutes turned into thirty and thirty turned into an hour and an hour turned into 5 hours until a phone rang. Nakasiko had never seen his father so happy to pick up a phone. He picked up the phone quickly and put it into his right ear. Nakashiko watched as his father quickly went through some different emotions at once. He seemed happy until his face dropped noticing it wasn't his wife. Though it didn't stop there because after that his face became frantic and worried as tears started falling.

Having a mental breakdown was one thing but having a mental breakdown in front of your now worried child was on another level. Though it was reasonable because on that same phone call his lovable wife was reported MISSING.

A couple of time past His father missed work didn't talk to his family and even forgot to feed Nakashiko multiple times. Nakashiko watched as his happy home became a living Hell. Every night he would hear his father hitting his bed as he wished every night his wife would return.

Whoever was controlling the world science, a God, or a being beyond our human understanding had the Greed and Gluttony to want to take everything that went good for a human. It didn't matter what if it was love, food, an easy life, a happy husband, a dog, the universe just found a way to take it. At least it was what Nakashiko thought every night as his mind got warped so far from reality that he couldn't even call it safe.

2 Years went by like this and both of them seemed to be getting worse. Nakashiko seemed to be the one taking it well but inside he tore apart his mind. His father seemed a bit better but the once happy house they lived in was gone. A phone ring echoed through the house as Nakashiko was the only one that heard it.

He got up and took a look into his mirror to see a boy with black hair and a ponytail with strands of hair the fell down and covered his hair. He then opened his door and walked through a lonely hallway as he smiled like a monster just like the one who felt no remorse for killing the wrong. He walked past his carpet as the same 3 toys stood and he just lunged over as he made his way to the kitchen he shook his head in disgust. His mood changes would make any human feel uncomfortable as he headed for the kitchen phone.

He picked up the lonely phone as he put it to his left hear listening.

"Hello is this Yuutsu Ito? We ask that you come down to the police department. Thank you have a nice day."

The robotic voice said as a beeping sound was heard. Nakashiko had felt relief and had finally thought that they had found his mother. He ran through his toys as quickly just pushed them aside as he quickly knocked on his father's room.

"I THINK THEY FOUND HER!"

His father finally smiled with hope as he got up from his bed and they went on their way.

They both entered the police department with a cold sweat as they quickly walked up to the front desk. The woman at the front desk looked at them with pity and sent them over to a room.

They walked through a narough empty hallway and approached a blue door with the number 465 on it. This was it, this is where we would be told what happened. Maybe she ran away or got kidnapped or is dead whatever it is his father would have the knowledge to move forward. Or maybe backward but this was the point where anything could change.

His father grasped the door with a cold sweat as he opened the wooden door to see a room. There stood a table with 1 chair on one side and 2 on the other. A man sat on one side with a folder with his mother's name. The room atmosphere seemed normal but still tense as the man greeted the two of them.

He stated his name which was Arata Cho. He told them both to sit down and started explaining everything.

"2 years ago on August 19, your wife went missing."

With those few lines, Nakashiko knew the man wasn't talking to him.

"Signs pointed in different directions and they all lead to a kidnapping."

His father grasped his legs as he heard everything.

"Though a couple of days ago she was found dead on the side of a road a few cities away. She was naked and after analyzing the body she was found raped and almost beaten to death many times. It had seemed they tortured her but it was all an unknown motive."

Nakashiko's eyes widened as he heard what was being said. He wouldn't expect it, couldn't expect it a year of happiness was given to him, and after all of that work it all crumbled away. His deadpanned mind couldn't even imagine this.

"How could there be someone as cruel to do that? What did they see when they saw my mother? Was it lust? Was it greed? Was its wrath? Was it gluttony? Was it all of these things? Why would someone like this exist? Who gave these people these mindsets and why would they have thought of something as evil as that? Was it just a game to whoever watched over this world? Who would think of doing something so disgusting that it makes me want to rip my ears off until I can't hear this. WHY? WHY? WHY? "

It was at a point where he would shake with anger as he couldn't handle this anymore.

"She was found with a diary which she would wri-"

Nakashiko couldn't hear anymore and decided to leave this room. This place had been marked with the sign of a devil as Nakashiko left the room.

His father stood alone in the room as the Cho continued on.

Nakashiko waited for his father outside as a couple of minutes pasted and he excited the building. His father seemed different when he walked out and had a whole different aura surrounding him. He seemed calmer from a mental space and finally decided to move on forward.

Nakashiko noted the difference but didn't comment on it because it would mean hearing what went on it there.

Father and son walked out of the police station with their minds cracked and damaged deeply. They couldn't even talk about what happened.

One week passed after they both got told the news and they were both heartbroken. Both didn't come out of their rooms and Nakashiko's mind couldn't handle much more. He looked down at his feet as he sat on his bed and rethought everything that happened. He kept rethinking and rethinking about the same thing and destroying his mind every single time.

He couldn't even think for himself and forgot human nature which was to eat, sleep, and drink water. He got up from his bed and looked into his dusty mirror. His once black hair was turning white as only strands of his hair remained white.

"Maybe stress? Or maybe its the fact of knowing how disgusting the world is."

After a whole week of mourning after getting told the news, he finally got out of his room to ask his father what was for dinner. He walked through the empty hallway in tears as he remember the times his mother would tell him not to run in here. His mind was filled with so much sarrow that a man without emotion would shed a tear at.

He knocked at the door and awaited a response. After a couple of seconds he decided to just go into his room. He rattled the wooden door handle as he got a splinter opening the door. As soon as he opened the door the smell of pure death and agony filled his thoughts as in the cornor of his room he saw his father though it wasn't sitting or laying down it was hanging from a rope as his lifeless body hanged onto the world as Nakashiko's mind completly broke.

The smell of death filled the house as Nakashiko ran into his room scared. He couldn't breath and couldn't think. The thing he lived for dead and his member of support dead.

"WHY? Why was it you left your own son alone in this disgusting world. I haven't even seen much of the world and haven't found someone this important to me. The world was dark and I couldn't see so why would the two torches in my life go complete out. Was it a need for fuel? Something to keep them running at least until their last breath? Why would someone put this along to me? Wait? Was it me? Was it me who caused this? Was it because of me being adopted by the two that my mother was kidnapped and killed. Was it me that my father was killed himself? If I had acually been there for my father instead of him being there for me would he still be here. Should I join them?"

His mind was clouded with thought he didn't want. He decided on one thing and that was to finally get rid of this burden and end it all. He ran through the hallway his mother had painted and kicked away the toys he once enjoyed playing with and ran past the phone that had been a messanger for all the pain in his life. He ran past where his mother and father would cook and where they would look on as their son enjoyed life. And he grabbed the knife his father used to cut vegetables with and feed his lovable son food. He couldn't handle it anymore and ran back into his room where his thoughts could be free.
