Beggars can't be Chooser

Yanmei stopped for the moment, she was shocked listen to Nixxi's job offer. She wanted to start her new life and for that she needed a job. But Nixxi already helped her so much, She didn't want any trouble for Nixxi. Not to mentioned Nixxi's brother gave death glare to Nixxi.

"Are you out of your mind, sister?" Lijun looked at his sister like she suddenly had two heads. Well he was not surprise if that happened, Considering they were not human and they saw lots of things. But this thing surprised him.

Nixxi looked at her brother and said "I need a new assistant. My old assistant resigned and I took several interview for that position but no one is good enough for that. And Yanmei is good for that position."

Lijun dumbfounded stare at his sister and said "How do you know that she is qualify to be your assistant? I don't think she is qualify enough to be your assistant".

Yanmei sat their quietly. She didn't want to interfere in their conversation but she glared at Lijun. She thought 'this guy doesn't know me but assume that I was unqualified for that job. Such a jerk'. She didn't plan to accept that job offer but after Lijun's statement she was pissed. And she decided what will she do.

"I completed my education. But I am not experienced enough. But If I get the job I'll never give you any reason to think about your decision. I'll do my best" Yanmei looked at Nixxi and ignored the cold man who gave death glare to both of them. She needed job to survive. She was not going back to her pack. And Nixxi was very sweet girl. She didn't know anything about Yanmei but she fight with her brother for Yanmei. After so many years she stayed with her family, she never felt this closeness with them. But with Nixxi, she felt comfortable. She thought 'maybe mother sent Nixxi to help her'.

" She'll not work in my office" Lijun's cold voice brought Yanmei back from her thoughts. "She'll be my assistant, so your approval doesn't matter" Nixxi smirked at her brother and eat her Rice Noodles. She looked at Yanmei and said "Btw, it's really testy".

Yanmei smiled at Nixxi but her smile disappeared when she looked at Lijun. He didn't like it at all. "Nixxi! we need to talk" he stood from the chair and left from there, Nixxi followed her brother. Yanmei sat there quietly. She didn't go after the siblings.

"What is his problem? Such a Jerk" She murmured.

When Lijun and Nixxi were away from Yanmei, and Lijun make sure she didn't hear their conversation, Lijun said " Are you out of your mind, Sister?" Lot's of people was afraid of her brother but she was not one of them. She stood calmly in front of angry Lijun and said "I don't know what are you talking about?"

"Do you remember who are you? Or do you forget about your identity after meet with your new best friend?" Lijun was angry with his sister's foolishness. She narrowed her eyes and said "If I tried to forget about it, You never let me forget about our position".

" Do you remember the first rule I made for all the vampires?" He asked his sister. She looked away from him and said "Never attached to any human".

He was impress to heard it from his sister and said " At least you remember our rule. And now as a princess you have to follow the rule." She flinched "Please brother, don't do it. Please don't take her away from me. It's been century , I feel normal again".

He was irritated of his sister's pleading. He didn't understood why she can't accept the truth. Why she was not happy to became a immortal? Was humanity so much important for her?

"You don't even know her. She can be danger to you to us" he tried to convince her again. She immediately said "she was a human and we both sense it. I agree I don't know her very much but do you think I can't protect myself? I am a vampire princess."

He was still not convince " I am not ready to risk your safety with someone we barely know". She said " all our employees are humans, I don't understand what's wrong with another one. Beside she wanted to start new and I wanted to help her. If you forget my previous assistant was a human too".

He closed his eyes. He knew that he can't stop her. She was as stubborn as him. But he didn't trust Yanmei and he knew Nixxi trust everyone very easily. He lost his little brother because of a human and he can't let it happened again. No one was important than his sister to him. He opened his eyes and said with calm voice "Then she can be my secretary".

Nixxi's eyes wide and her mouth hung opened. She was shocked and said "You hate her". Lijun was tired of this conversation "I don't love my employees". Nixxi countered "But you don't hate them".

"I don't care about them. Why would I? They work for us and we pay for it" He said with calm voice. Nixxi said "But you hate Yanmei!".

He hold her gaze and stared at her for some moment "I don't trust her. You are my only family little sister and I am not going to loose you. I always protect you, no matter what".

She smiled at her brother. She should irritated by her brother's over protectiveness but she was glad to saw her brother's protectiveness.

He continue "And you said that she needs job and my employees say that I am a good boss". She narrowed her eyes and he asked "What? You can asked secretary Ji. "

"If you appointed Yanmei as your assistant then what'll happen to Ji?" She asked with concerned face. She always thought about their employees.

Lijun thought something for a moment and then took a phone from his pocket and typed some number. After some time he said "Ji , you don't have to assist me anymore". Nixxi's eyes was wide and he continued "You don't do anything wrong but I don't need you anymore. But My sister need an assistant. You can join her when we came to the office"

After seeing his sister's puzzled face he said "You don't need to interview anyone for that post. Secretary Ji was one of the best employee. She knew her work very well".

" Now let's go and tell the good news to your friend" he smirked.

When they came to Yanmei she can tell something was not good. She can sense it. 'Did Lijun convince Nixxi that I am not good enough for that job' she thought and anger appeared in her vain. Why her life was not simple? She didn't thought about that before but when Nixxi offered her a job she thought maybe finally everything will be good. But her fate was always cruel to her. But why she expected anything good ? Did she forget that she was rejected by not only her Mate but her family and her pack too. And now she was a murderer too. She wondered what'll happen when the pack know about Han-joon's death and she was scarred to think what'll her father do as an Alpha if he knows what happened that night. Will he finally support his daughter? She smile bitterly and thought 'That is my wishful thinking. He will never support me. He will hate me more'.

" Why are you smiling?" Lijun's voice brought Yanmei back from her thoughts. "Nothing". Then she looked at Nixxi and a sad smile appeared on her face "It's okay. You helped me yesterday night and I'll always thank full for it. Don't worry, I can manage now" she stood from the chair and tried to leave but stopped when she heard an arrogant voice "Do I allow you to leave?"

She looked at Lijun and narrowed her eyes. What did he want now? She was leaving from their life and she had a feeling this arrogant guy would not make it easy for her. She was irritated from this guy now.

"I am leaving from here. But I think you don't want it with easy way. And if you want money because I stayed in here yesterday night then you'll be disappointed because I don't have any money".

" I am not like that person who take money from beggars" he smirked and she wanted to punch his face.

Nixxi warned "Lijun!". He looked at Nixxi and then looked at Yanmei "You can work in my company. But Nixxi's assistant's position is now full". Yanmei narrowed her eyes and Nixxi rolled her eyes.

"But I make vacancy only for you little human" he smirked. She had a very bad feeling about it.

" You can't be my sister's assistant but you will be my assistant" he smirked and Yanmei was shocked. She didn't know what to say. She looked at Nixxi and she pleaded Yanmei with her eyes. Yanmei didn't want to saw him but now she had to work with him. But if she rejected the offer then she had no where to go and she will not return to her pack. She thought 'beggar can't be chooser'. She always tortured by her step mother and step sister. Nothing will scarred her anymore.

" What's wrong? You don't want the job anymore?" he still smirked and waited for her rejection. 'You have to face disappointment Mr. Jerk' she thought and then looked at Nixxi and smiled "I am ready for it" then looked at her new arrogant boss "When will we start?"

Smile disappeared from Lijun's face and he looked at that little human and said coldly"It'll be fun little human, at least for me. Can't say about you"
