Lijun's eyes were wide and he was shocked to listen what Yanmei said. He opened his mouth and closed but can't say anything. For sometime his eyes were on the road but his mind was on what she said.
"What did you say?" His eyes were still on the road.
She looked at him "I said I love vampire's books".
"What do you like about them?"
"Well, they are immortal, they are very attracted and they sparkle in the day light" She said with excitement.
He growled and snapped "We don't sparkle in the day light".
Of course they are immortal and lots of humans attracted by their charm but for god sake they don't sparkle in the day light. He always hate that they were describe like that in the books and movies.
"What?" She asked confusingly and he cursed himself in his heart.
"Nothing" he tried ignore the topic.
"You said you don't sparkle in the day light" she didn't want to ignore the topic.
"Why would I say something like that? I am not a vampire and never meet any vampire. I am just a normal human like you" he looked at her and she looked away from him.
He was not like her. He was not a werewolf like her. If he was werewolf, she can feel it. No, he was just a normal human being. But still when she was with him she felt uneasy, same thing happened when she was with Nixxi but she avoided it. Maybe because she never came close to any human in her past maybe that's why she felt like that. But when she talked to Yang Ji or anyone else in the office she didn't feel uneasy. She didn't understand it, that's why she ignored it.
"You are right. You can't be a vampire" she chuckled.
"Because I am not. Btw, why are you saying that I can't be a vampire?" he asked curiously.
"Because vampires are very attractive" she shrugged.
He narrowed his eyes "What do you mean by that?"
"Nothing, just saying that in the books or movies vampires are breathtaking and that's why they attracted so many humans" she said casually.
"I am also attracted" he snapped.
She blinked at him and chuckled "I didn't deny that".
"You said in your books Vampires are attractive that's why I can't be one of them" he snapped.
"Well, I didn't mean it" she said hesitantly.
He snickered "Oh yeah, you mean it".
She narrowed her eyes "You know your ego can eat crows".
He smirked "I know I am attractive because lots of women complement me often".
She narrowed her eyes "They have very bad taste in men then".
He glanced at her the corner of his eyes and he smirked "Forget about other women, You check me out every time we meet" then he looked at her and said in low voice "I know it because I check you out too".
She rolled her eyes "I never check you out but now I can confirm that you are a pervert".
Okay, maybe she check him out but how can she control her eyes. He was a perfect human specimen and the worst thing was he knew that. But she never saw him do the same.
He laughed genuinely. He didn't laugh often but when he did he looked more charming maybe because of his dimples. And as always she can't took her eyes off him.
After some time he stopped the car and she looked at him confusingly. He signaled outside and she followed his gaze and saw a huge building.
Looking at her confusing face he said "This is the Library I was talking about".
Darkness was everywhere and there was only one street light. They came out of the car and went to that Library.

Unfortunately, the owner wasn't working, but Yanmei didn't seem to care. The moment she stepped inside. A smile appeared and it didn't leave as she buzzed from one overstocked shelf to the next, oblivious to the clouds of dust she stirred up every time she pulled a book out of a pile. There was no one else in the narrow shop besides the older lady behind the register, who had her nose in a book.
He stood back, out of her way, and he'd pulled out his phone, opening up Candy Crush, but he wasn't paying attention to the game. Hell, he was still on the damn candy trail. he was watching her. But he couldn't help it. Especially when she bent over, scanning the lower shelves.
Uncomfortable, he shifted his legs. Didn't help. Images flooded him. She starred in all of them. Her wet naked body in the shower. Heat moved under his skin, and he ground his molars. He needed to think about something—anything else.
She stretched up, reaching for a book several shelves above her, and the shirt she wore rode up, revealing a thin slice of skin above her Skirt.
Aw, hell…
She clutched a book to her chest, and he was really, really envious of that book.
He shifted again. Still didn't help.
She spun around, heading for a wire bin full of small paperbacks covered with bare-chested men and women in fancy, old-school dresses. She dug around until she stacked a pile of them on the outside and then looked at him. "Can you help me?"
Slipping his phone in his pocket, he walk toward her was a bit…awkward. "What's up?"
"Hold your arms out, please."
He did what she asked.
And a few moments later, He was holding a pile of romance books.
He had no idea how his life veered so far off track that this was what he was doing on a Friday night, but a part of him wasn't all that upset. Which of course upset him even more.
She ended up leaving the store with more books than any human needed, and the whole way home she smiled that…that beautiful smile he rarely ever saw. She chattered about the books, and even though he didn't respond to anything she said, she kept going on.
She was actually happy.
He knew the moment he opened his mouth he was going to ruin that, like he always did. he thought about the fact that what was he doing. He planned to inquiry her in absence of his sister. But now he was with her in the library, carrying books for her. This was not his plan and this was not right.
And his attraction to Yanmei didn't help the situation. Made it all the more dangerous.
He needed to keep his space. For real this time. No more broken record shit.
