(ch.24)

While Chin was going through the hall, she was confused about which door was Da-Chung's room. She would go into each room, but Wang Li was in one of the rooms. Chin just opened a door, hoping that it was Da-Chung's room, but she saw Wang Li reading a book. She quietly shut the door, then he blurted "You know I can see you," with an emotionless tone.

She awkwardly laughed as she apologized "Sorry, looks like a got the wrong room, do you know where Da-Chung's room is?"

"Her room is next to my room," he marked as he turns to her.

She let a little smile as she quietly said "Ah, ok, thanks." Chin closed his door and opened the door next to his. "Where have you been?" Da-Chung asked when she saw Chin.

Chin answered "I was just talking to your mom," in a calm voice as she close the door behind her and sat down. "Were you looking for me?"

Da-Chung replied "No, I was too lazy to find you and I know you'll come back," in an unbothered tone.

"Ok, are those two are still sleeping, huh?" Chin asked in a curious tone.

They both looked at the napping girls on the bed, Da-Chung noted "Yep, what should we do while they're sleeping?" Chin shrugged. Da-Chung suggested "Why don't we just watch a movie in the living room," in a calm voice as she got up.

Chin replied "Ok, what do you want to wat-" just then Da-Chung's phone ring.

"Sorry" Da-Chung marked as she answered the call.

She whispered "I'll just head to the living room first," Da-Chung nodded. Chin was on the couch on her phone, waiting for Da-Chung. She was watching a scary movie while holding her breath, but then he got a call from her brother. "Hello?" she answered.

He asked, "Did you get to Da-Chung's place ok?"

"Yep, she picked us up," she noted.

He continued "Did you eat yet?"

"No, I've only eaten snacks. Why?"

"I'm feeling lonely and I worried since I'm your guardian now," Lai marked in a low tone.

Chin giggled and said "Brother, don't worry, if anything happens to me, I'll call you first. You should go do something fun if you're bored like go to the park, hang out with your friends, or get a new hobby."

He sighed in boredom and he added "Ok, ok, I'll stop bothering you, so you can hang out with your friends," in a calm voice.

Chin blurted "No, it's fine. My friends are upstairs, Da-Chung is on a call while my other two friends are napping," in a positive tone.

Lai questioned, "Where are you then?"

"I'm in the living room since Da-Chung and I planned to watch a movie," she marked.

Lai just replied "Oh well, I have to go. I need to do a few things. Ok, bye-bye, I love you."

"Ok, I love you too," then the call ended. Da-Chung was coming down the stairs. Da-Chung said "Sorry, Bolin called. Who were you calling?"

Chin answered "My brother," as Da-Chung sat down.

"Oh ok, let's get the movie started. What do you want to watch?"

"Anything is fine."

"Ok," Da-Chung put a romance movie on. There was a ding from Da-Chung's phone within 30 into the movie, she decided to ignore it. Chin mumbled, "Are you not going to look at it?" Da-Chung shook her head as another ding was heard. They continued to watch the movie but she kept getting notifications.

Da-Chung sighed in annoyance as she looks at the notifications and started to aggressively type. Curiosity got the best of Chin as she secretly took a peek, she saw that it was Bolin that was texting her. Bolin was asking her why wasn't she texting him, was she cheating on him, doesn't she love him, and more things.

When Da-Chung was done texting him, she slammed her phone on the wooden coffee table, Chin asked "What's wrong?"

Da-Chung sighed and answered "Nothing," in a stressed tone.

"Ok, if you want to talk about anything, you can tell me," in a calm voice, Da-Chung nodded. After the movie ended, Da-Chung turned off the TV, she said "Bolin can be so annoying sometimes, one he can so clingy than the next few days he doesn't text or anything," in an annoyed tone.

Chin began "Well I don't think he's a good boyfriend if he does that," in a calm tone.

"I don't know, I think I might be growing attached to him," she noted.

Chin suggested "Da-Chung, I don't think you should. He's probably using you for money," in a calm tone.

"Why do you think that? Do you have proof?" Da-Chung fumed with an upset face.

Chin pulled up the picture she took earlier of Bolin and a girl as she revealed "This is my proof."

"That could be his friends or relatives," in a calm voice.

Chin asked, "So friends or relatives hold hands like this?" as she zoomed in to the picture of their hands intertwined.

"I mean you never know, some do."

Chin just sighed and wondered "So you believe me or not?" Da-Chung shrugged. Chin added "I think you should break up with him, I know you can find someone better," in a serious tone.

Da-Chun said "I want to but he said he'll kill himself if I do," wth a down tone.

"See I told you that he wasn't a good person, but you didn't listen to me. What are you going to do?" Chin hesitated in a worried tone.

She replied "I have no choice but to continue dating him until he breaks up with me," with no tone.

Chin could see that Da-Chung was really suffering in the relationship, she uttered "Sorry, I don't know how to help you," in a guilty tone.

"No, it's fine. I'll find a way out. Do you still want to watch a movie" This time you can pick the movie," Da-Chung assured with a smile.

Chin nodded as she turns the TV on, sh asked "How are Jai Li and Mei Zhen still napping, it's going to be dark in an hour or two" in a curfused tone.

"I don't know, those two must be really tried so just let them be," in a calm voice. They were going to start the movie but then Wang Li came downstairs. He blurted "Da-Chung, your mom said that I have to take one you guys with me."

Chin asked "Where are you going?"

"I'm going out shopping for a few things and anutie told me that I have to go with Da-Chung since she know the groceries list," he noted as stood next to them.

Da-Chung sighed and said "Well I need to get ready and I want to bring Chin along." as she got up.

"Ok, I need to get ready too," he added as they both went up to their rooms. Chin was on her phone waiting for them to get ready, when she looked up, she saw Wang Li come out first. He noted "Let's go wait in my car, Da-Chung will come," in a calm voice as led the way to his car.

Chin followed as she mumbled "Ok."

"Are you going sit in the front since I'm sure Da-Chung doesn't want to sit in the front with me," he marked as Chin got in the back.

Chin answered "Thanks but no thanks, I like my space," in an assured voice. Just then Da-Chung got in the front seat as she said "Ok, I'm here, let's get going," as she was putting her seatbelt on. When Chin saw their outfits and started to giggled.

Da-Chung asked "What's so funny?" while on her phone.

Chin answered "Wang Li and you are wearing matching outfits," in a cheerful vioce, that caught Da-Chung's attention. She looked at her clothes then at Wang Li's, she screamed "Wang Li, why are you matching with me? Did you peek on me while I getting dress?"

Wang Li shouted back "The fuck, I didn't peek on you. I didn't I was going to match with you."

"Turn the car, I want to go change," she hissed as she just looked out the window.

He answered "No, I'm not turning this car, we're almost at the store," in a stern voice.

Chin blurted "Hey, you two, please don't fight. I don't think anyone will know that you guys are wearing matching clothes since I'm sure you guys are going your own ways," in a soft tone. The car was filled with ranging silence. Da-Chung stomped into the store once he parked.

Wang Li mumbled "Chin, you should catch up with Da-Chung," with a calm tone.

"Ok, if you need anything come find us," she noted as he nodded, then she caught up with her friend. Chin asked "Why are you so upset that you're matching with Wang Li?"

Da-Chung answered "Because people will see us wearing the matching outfits and think that we're a couple," in a annoyed voice.

"Oh~ because you don't like him and you don't want anyone to think that," Chin said in a confusion.

Da-Chung warned "No, it's because he and I will get a scandal, I'm sure we both don't want that," in a calm tone as she grabbed a cart. She added "Oh yeah, talking about scandal, did you see the scandal about you?"

Chin stopped in a traces and asked "What scandal?" in a confused voice.

"You don't know? There's a scandal claiming that you're Lai's secret girlfriend," as she grabbed some beef.

Chin quiet screamed "The fuck, that's gross! I didn't I see that? Let me see." Da-Chung pulled out her phone a showed an article and gave it to Chin, then continued her shopping. There was a picture of Chin and Lai at the store, when they were looking for a dress for her for the event. The article claimed that Lai was taking his secret girlfriend shopping in a fancy store and more other things how they were seen a few times.

Da-Chung commented "The comments are the worse," in a calm tone. She went into the comments: "The girl isn't even pretty", "Why does the girl looks so young", "She is so skinny", "She should eat more", "She will never conceive kids if she's that skinny" and more hurtful comments. By the time she was done reading everything, Da-Chung was done paying for the stuff. Da-Chung asked "Are you done? I'm done shopping, I even got some snacks for us. Let's get going," in a calm voice.

Chin handed her phone back to her, Da-Chung asked "Are you ok? The comments were brutal," with a worried tone.

"Let's just get in the car," in a quiet voice. Da-Chung texted Wang Li to unlock his car since he wasn't back yet, in a few seconds the car unlocked. Da-chung got the car after she put the bags in the trunk, the both sat in the car in silents, then Chin started to cry.

Da-Chung looked at her and asked "What's wrong? Are you ok? Is it because of the comments?" in a worried voice as she looked at her in the back seat.

Chin sobbed "Da-Chung, am I ugly? Am I too skinny?"

Da-Chung answered "No, you're not ugly and you're not too skinny. They're just jealous" in a comforting tone.

"What am I going to do? People are going to judge me," Chin cried. They heard the trunk door open as Wang Li said "Hi, you two. Sorry I took so long," in a calm tone. Chin quickly wiped her tears as Da-Chung shouted "Took you long enough, I thought we were going here until the next day," in emotionless tone.

"Sorry, I couldn't find something," he said before closing the trunk. When he got in the driver seat, he asked "Are you guys ready to go home?" as he looks at Chin and Da-Chung.When he saw Chin's crying face, he asked "Chin, why are you crying? What happened?"

Chin answered "Nothing," as she tried to stop tears but they kept coming.

Da-Chung interrupted "Wang Li, stop asking so many questions and start driving," in an annoyed tone. He obeyed and started to driving. The drive home was kinda awkward with Chin's quiet hiccups. When they got to the house, Chin looks like how she was before. The three of them brought the bags inside, Jai Li and Mei Zhen went to help them.

Da-Chang teased "Finally you two are awake. It's already dark."

"Ah~ sorry, I guess we were just really tired," Mei Zhen noted in an apologetic tone with a pouting face.

"You guys are finally home. I was worried about you guys," Da-Chug's mom said as she came down the stairs.

"Mom, what are you doing coming down here? Sorry if we worried you," Da-Chung replied.

Her mom answered "I heard you guys so I came to see you guys plus I want to take a walk," in a calm voice.

Jai Li and Mei Zhen slightly bowed and greeted "Hi, Mrs.Tongguo" in a formal voice.

She said "Omg, hi, you two. No need to be so formal, just call me auntie. What is you guys' names?"

"I'm Jai Li."

"And I'm Mei Zhen."

Da-Chung's mom smiled and exclaimed "Well nice to meet you two. Da-Chung and Wang Li, why are you guys matching? Is there something you two are trying to tell us?"

Da-Chung quickly shook her head and shouted "No, mum, it was just a coincidence," in an annoyed tone.

"Did you guys get caught together or not?" Her mom asked

"No, he shopped on his own while Chin and I shopped together."

Her mom nodded, then asked "What do you guys want to eat? I'm going to start cooking." Everyone answered it doesn't matter, she suggested "Let's have Hot pot," in a cheerful tone.

Da-Chung added "We can help you too since I'm sure you want some help," as she looked at her friends, they nodded.

"Well if you guys want to, come to help me," Da-Chung's mom noted as she went into the kitchen as they follow with a few bags. Everyone started to do something, as Da-Chung was washing the leaf vegetables, she said "Ma, please go sit down, we can do this. If we need your help, we'll call you."

"Are you sure? Even though I'm pregnant, I can still help," with a little confusion, she nodded. Her mom stopped with she was doing and noted "Ok, I'll just watch you guys," in a calm tone as she sat at the dining table. An hour later, Da-Chung annoced "Ma, we're done cutting everything. We just need to make the broth."

Da-Chung's mom asked "Do you guys want me to make the broth?"

"Auntie, you make the best hot pot broth, plus it will be Mei Zhen and Jei Li first time tasting your hot pot broth," Chin noted in a excited voice as the others nodded. Auntie smiled and started to make the broth. Within a few minutes, she screamed "Done, there's the mild one and the really spicy," as she pointed to each one.

They kinda sat there, Da-chung asked "Why are you guys just sitting, dig in."

Wang Li answered "Well, we're waiting for your mom take the first bite," with calmish.

"Oh that's sweet of you guys," as she took a piece of beef and put it into the spicy broth for 20 seconds.

"Ma, make sure you cook it well or it might harm lil' fatty and you," Da-Chung marked.

Her mom frowned and fumed "How many times do I have to tell you not to call him that. Don't be acting like you weren't called fat dumpling," in an annoyed tone then she ate the beef.

"Ma," Da-Chung whined as everyone giggled.

Her mom said "Ok, ok, let's just eat," everyone dug in. When everyone was done eat, everything was clear, Da-Chung marked "I'll wash the dishes," in calm tone as she took a few dishes to the sink.

Chin insisted "I'll help her," as she brought more dishes.

"Thanks, sorry but I'll be going back to my room," Da-Chung's mom marked apologized as she left the kitchen.

Wang LI said "Sorry, girls, I'm leaving too," in a cheerful voice then left too. Mei Zhen and Jai Li were just sitting there watching Chin and Da-Chung wash the dishes. They just watched a movie in the living room after washing the dishes.
