The Truth

It was not long before I was able to slowly move and stand up again. She was like

"What are you doing? Are you alright?"

When I stood up seeing my hand mended and not a single injury anymore she was surprised or shall I say shocked.

"Yes"

"Let's lift you up"

I helped her stand up but she was bleeding and was not in a good shape. It looked as if she was about to lose her consciousness any moment if anything was not done quickly. Thus I laid her down again.

"Hey, can you do anything?"

[NO]

<>

I was in anguish, "all of that for nothing?"

[But, You can save her]

"HOW?" I looked up at the prompt.

[Restoration]

<>

"How?"

[She Won't be able to connect to the system again, A link would be established between you and her]

"It's still better than her dying"

[System has found the most suitable way]

<>

"What? Really?"

[You can't do it?]

[Warning: Body Temperature Dropping]

I ended up kissing her, but I won't say it was kissing, it was just mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Yeah, just mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. It's all that it was.

By forming a pact with me, I was able to connect her with my system, although she lost access to her system and could not go online anymore and see her status, etc, and was limited just like me. But at least she would be able to live and I could even share some skills with her.

I edited her skills and changed her health attribute high enough for her to survive, although this would not heal her wounds and I did have to find a solution for that but in the meantime, it would at least keep her alive.

"But how do I move her?"

[Found]

<>

"But leaving her like this," I thought.

<>

Since it was snowing I had no option but to take her somewhere else or else we both would have died.

"Where is the cart?"

<> expanded pointing to the cart, I ran to get it through the snow, leaving her to the care of the system, just hoping the system did its job correctly. Thankfully it did.

When I found the cart it was one of those garbage carts and I came back with it hurriedly as fast as I could. Although I was weak and she was injured but somehow I managed to lift her to the cart, alas with a bit of a struggle, maybe lifting a conscious person is easier than lifting an unconscious person, or at least what I felt, it was way easier to lift someone when I was helping people get on the truck back then.

Carrying her back was not easy at all even with wheels, the difficulty level had risen 10x due to snow. And I was not the best when it came to strength either so pulling her to the top of a hill was already hard for me.

But with some struggling, breathers, and difficulties. I was able to return with her to the top of the mountain.

I didn't have the stamina nor did I have the energy to pull the cart anymore, although downhill might have been easy from then but what about after that road was congested and with her no way I could carry her back with me to the superstore.

So, I had no choice but to set up camp there for the time.

I covered her with some blanket that I had in my <> before putting the tent out of my <> and setting it up. I took the cart as close to the tent as possible and gently carried her inside the tent, and laid her there.

Before I took the first Aid Kit out of the item box to clean her up and with the guidance of the system, I cleaned her wounds and did some first AId, like bandages, she was covered in bruises and cuts. But what worried me most was her bullet wound in the thigh but I was unable to do anything about it.

I felt helpless.

After I was done I left her with a portable heater inside the tent to keep her warm, not before wrapping her in blankets, I started a fire and sat next to it making some coffee I had taken from the superstore.

Over the fire, I had some skewers of meat roasting. I sat with my cup of coffee looking at the city below, When she woke up, and tried to get up.

I stopped her and explained what had happened and that I carried her here. When she asked me what I was doing here and explained to her that I had come here after getting an SOS, I did not tell her more than that.

Then we talked about what she was doing here, she hesitated and did not say much.

We talked and I told her my story so far about what had happened with me, how I was in a camp and what happened there, and then how I found a superstore and then ended up here. She looked at me as if I had said something weird before she told me

"What are you talking about? when the government does not exist since the incident happened? I worked in the government. There were no such camps, there were no survivors of the incident."

Before she tried to get out of the tent.

"Buzzing" my head was filled with noise, strange flashbacks, memories. Is this what I could not remember for so long?
