Chains Of Sorrow Part 1

"Step on it like this, now try to walk straight."

I was trying to walk up and down stairs using the cane.

"That's it, You are doing great"

Holding the handrail curling on my stomach taking deep breaths.

"Out of breath, I am exhausted"

"Sit, for now, she guided me to the wall"

"Sit here"

I sat leaning against the wall,

"TAP...TAP"

I had the habit of tapping things to see how they sound, so I tapped the wall and realized it sounded like glass, and after a bit of more tapping and listening to the sound I was certain the wall was glass.

"What's this? Is it okay to lean against it? Which floor are we at"

"It's fine it's just a mirror"

I sat there catching my breath.

"You want water?"

"You don't look good"

"Are you okay? Maybe you should rest, for now, we can again continue tomorrow"

"NO!"

I got up again to go back to training.

I have to upgrade my sense-related skills, otherwise, I will always be stuck like this. If I can't see, I need to use my other senses to be able to do things. until I find a way for my eyes to recover or they recover by themselves.

Last night, She cooked our dinner. The food smelled incredible but don't let the smell deceive you. The smell can be deceiving too. She might be a genius in what she does but she can't cook. After I took the first bite, I didn't chew the food. I thought swallowing it whole was the best solution, against the system's repeated warnings of it being bad for health.

I ate it silently anyways, maybe because I didn't want to upset her or how enthusiastic she was when she said she would cook.

I'm glad I can't see what she fed me.

Wakeup call is playing through the loudspeakers installed throughout the base. It must be sunrise, at sunrise they played it every morning.

"The sun is just about to rise, bringing along a brand new day, but for me, my previous day is not over yet. I have a long way ahead of me"

"Lets, end it here for today"

She yawned "I haven't slept since yesterday"

"Let's go back"

The treadmill stopped, she had pressed the stop, she helped me step down from it.

We walked to the room, the sounds of doors opening and noises of people's early morning routine. In the afternoon it was a rather relaxed place compared to what it was in the morning.

"Watch out"

She pulled me to my left

"Boxes"

There is a ton that goes on in the morning.

Sound of people showering, Doors, knock, the sound of people brushing, people chatting, dogs barking, Beds being tucked up. I could hear every noise crisp and clear as I walked through the corridor thanks to the skill [Bug].

She stopped, her grip on my arm went stronger, the sound of the door, before she pushed me giggling, the door closed behind us by the sound of it we were in a room.

She put her arms around my neck and leaned on me. I almost lost my balance and fell backward but I remained firm to the ground and stable, changing my stance.

"Hey, I am bored, how long are you going to be like this? Want to play a game?"

Before I could answer, her lips touched mine and there was a spark of sorts in my mind"

"Before I knew it, I was standing on the edge of a cliff, I could see everything clearly my vision was back"

[Retrieve the System Fragment]

Prompt was floating in front of me.

<>

But before I could even read the prompt entirely a giant chain came crashing from the sky barely missing me, the prompt disappeared.

loud bang and shaking,

As it hit the ground immediately there was dust everywhere and I was falling from the mountain into the dust as the ground beneath my feet crumbled, I could not see a thing in the cloud of dust.

When I opened my eyes I was floating close barely inches from the chain. The links were so big that there could be 2 or more people of my height and still they could stand inside one link.

The chains were black in color and gave out a purple aura around it, not sure what they were made of but when I looked up there was no end to it.

it went as far as I could see into the sky.

I stood on the link touching it, it felt like the chain had feelings too, it could feel.

The moment I touched it was the voice of Chae in my head, crying and asking for help "Save Me" a feeling of deep sorrow and flashes of memories, memories which did not belong to me, some in which I was in, some in which she was alone and looked pitiful some in which she laughed and was happy.

Shaking...

I lost my balance, almost fell again but somehow managed to hold on, and managed to regain my footing and stood up.

Looking around me there were more chains now falling from the sky. This was not the only one, close and far they were everywhere, and more was falling from the sky as I looked up to the sky far and close.

That aura that surrounded it, made one feel sorrow and pain.

Then I realized those which had hit the ground already were not piling up there, it was still falling down through the ground or should I say it went through it, a pit that was so dark that it could swallow everything as if it was darkness itself.

It was something that I could not even stare into and see anything in it, the chain just disappeared in it. Chains were falling from the sky without an end to them.

Then I realized not just them, I was also going down as a cliff went up in front of me at a speed... or fraction of a second.

I realized the speed I was falling in, I could not understand it before I was so high up in the sky.

I stood there waiting for the ground holding the chain looking around me at the other chains that were falling, those which fell around me as I went down. Some chains were even faster than this chain, maybe this chain was relatively slow compared to other chains.
